I just spent 90 minutes sitting in an overheated Home Depot flooring department and I’m not a happy camper. I scheduled a measure for new flooring. The measure was completed and the quote was sent to me via email. I stopped in to finalize the sale and they couldn’t even find the quote. The clerk, who worked at the pace of a drugged-​out snail, proceeded to try to hand-​enter my five page quote from the printed copy. Then I was told that my order would be input and then I would have to wait 7 – 10 days for delivery. Only AFTER the product is delivered will they schedule the install, which at this point in time is already 3 – 4 weeks from the date of delivery. In other words, from measure to install could be up to 2 months. Really? The biggest home improvement store in the nation and they can’t do better than that? I’m going elsewhere for my flooring and I will NOT be ordering from Home Depot. They just lost a $ 5000 sale because of incompetence.

THIS IS ABOUT THE TOOL RENTAL DEPARTMENT ONLY: probably the worst customer service on the planet. I rented an item for 24 hours which after bringing it home it failed within 30 minutes of use. I immediately called rental department to explain what happened and would be bringing it back. It took over an hour to load it into my truck given the failure was in the drive cable of the unit. I was charged 4 hours of rental for something that lasted a half an hour. I will never rent from this place again given their exceedingly poor customer service. I walked away feeling frustrated and ripped off.

These people are not helpful. It took me fifteen minutes just to get someone to talk to me and when I finally got a guy named Eric to stop for two seconds so I could ask him a question he started arguing with me and told me I was a stupid girl that didn’t know what I was talking about and walked away. He never answered my question and it took me ten more minuted to get my simple question answered.

The installation went well. I don’t know if these folks are HD employees or contractors but they were great. They even solved a minor drainage problem that they encountered. I feel good about recommending them.

This is not the usual home depot that I go to. However, it was the only home depot in vancouver that had the counters that I needed to finish my 120 unit apartment complex remodel. Shelly at the pro-​desk was about as friendly as a rock can be. Dave at the customer service desk however did a wonderful job helping me and making sure I got what I needed. Thank you Dave for making me not want to poke myself in the eye after leaving this store.
Pros– Dave at customer service was helpful and Customer orientated
Cons– Pro-​desk help, product was damaged, loaders were not helpful, seemed under staffed.

I went into Home Depot to buy a 5 gallon bucket of Deck paint, Friday Sept. 12 at 7 pm. The woman at the counter said she couldn’t mix a color for me so I waited for the man to get back from lunch. He mixed my paint, then put this heavy bucket on the counter instead of in my cart. I had to ask him to put it in my cart… Then at checkout I ask the man if someone could help me out, he said good luck with that it will take at least 10 minutes. I wait 10 minutes no one shows, he calls again no one shows… I went to my car knowing a woman with a bad back just couldn’t lift this into a trunk… Luckily a customer came by and loaded it for me.

Home Depot is Home Depot. Not much can be said for these gigantic home improvement stores. What can be said is that the majority of the employees I have encountered have been very friendly… but…not as knowledgeable as I would want for construction/​home improvement advice.

This is our store to find almost anything. The service is poor it is hard to find anyone to help you so you must help yourself. I like the self check out it is fast.
