I came here with my 6yr old daughter to get my nails done. When I walked in I was greeted by everyone and felt a really warm vibe. The salon is beautiful and the staff are so friendly. Meghan was so patient and good with my daughter while still paying close attention to detail while doing my nails. She did everything by hand and not once was I worried or hurt. I had previously gotten acrylics done at a different salon and my nails hurt badly for a few days after. I feel no pain at all after Meghan did my new set and the color/design is so unique and personalized that you won’t find another set like them. I have already received so many compliments on my nails and I have recommended Meghan and the whole salon a lot. I will definitely be back!

This is a review on their product sales. I came in randomly to buy a certain brand of hair care products that is hard to find. Stylist/owner had the product behind her station and brought it up to me. Made the sale, got the bottles home and looky-here, the conditioner has been opened and used. Yep, it’s gummy around the lid and about 1″ less in the bottle, as compared to the shampoo. I would’ve liked to emailed them about it– I’m not going to make a special trip for $ 1’s worth of shampoo, but they should know that some of their product is not new. Their website has a lot of info, an 800-number(?), but no email contact! I thought that was sorta old-school, eh? If I were looking for a salon, I would not personally pick this place. I did take a menu with me to be polite, but the place has a vibe for older clientele(a plus, if you like shades of auburn). Lighting seemed a little poor for a salon. It was loud in there with lots of conversations in a small space, competing with dryers. Visually not relaxing, either. Everywhere I looked, it was cluttered with kitschy knick-knacks. They seem to be doing a good business, but not geared towards me!

Mary Jo has been my stylist since I was 12 years old(I’m 38 now). That’s a long time! I’ve tried a few other people due to moves, work schedule etc. over the years but I always come back to Visible Changes. Now my husband and children are her clients. She’s become like family. She’s incredibly talented and always a joy to see. I love the location of the salon right off of 205. They have great stylists, a fun atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Jackie is the best hands down. She cuts mine and our sons hair. Everyone is super friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel fantastic. They always have recommendations on products to use and have special ordered things for my wife who is also a client. Dont even get me started on how amazing Jackie does her hair color.

I’ve been going to Visible Changes for 20 years(when the Salon was located at the Red Lion on Jantzen Beach). Now it is centrally located in Vancouver with easy access off I-205 and they have lots of free, off street parking. The owner, Maryjo(also my stylist) only invites highly experienced, top notch, well educated stylist to join her salon. All the stylist continue to attend hair shows and receive continuing education, keeping up to date on the latest styles, techniques, and trends. The stylist mentioned in the previous review was very short term and has been gone a year or more, and it’s unfortunate that he should have blemished the wonderful reputation of this very professional salon. Whether you’re looking for great color, hi-lights, a subtle cut or a completely different style, I can say with the utmost of confidence that Visible Changes is the perfect choice. They provide a NOCOST, NOOBLIGATION consultation, giving you the opportunity to meet the stylist, hear what they would suggest, and tell you what the service would cost. By the way, the cost of services is commensurate with any shop in Vancouver or Portland that offers quality services. The salon is very clean and orderly, comfortably decorated and all equipment is clean and well-maintained. There is plenty of room between stations so you don’t feel as though the person in the next station is on top of you. They sell a full selection of hair products, very reasonably priced for your convenience only.(no hard sells, just suggestions). If I sound biased, I am. I think Visible Changes is one of the finest salons in this area offering upscale services at affordable prices. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Maryjo, you’re the absolute best!

Would be less, but it was partly my fault in not complaining when I was there. The guy who cut my hair was friendly, but exceedingly over-talkative. He never shut up. Further — it was all about how great he was. Also about his drug use back in the day, how all his hair is natural due to his heritage. it was all about him. Incessantly about him. Had he done my hair properly or well I could have lived with that. I could even have lived with him calling me ‘Miss Kathy’ everytime he could draw a breath… but he did a lousy job. He ‘undercut’ my fine, thin hair — leaving it scraggly, fly-away and even thinner and cut it with a razor — which he explained would make my hair look thicker — but which basically split the ends to kingdom come. I will never go back.
