When the Shoe Fits

John was super helpful and got shoes that fit and support me. The orthotics were expensive and I only ended up using one of them, but they had a 90 return policy so the choice to keep them was mine.
They also introduced us to SmartWool socks which are just awesome.

I had one of the WORST customer experiences ever, much to my dismay.
The shoes that I purchased for normal fitness wear had a manufacturing defect. They begrudgingly replaced them (after dirty looks, accusations and speculative GRILLING on behalf of the sales rep). Within a month, the replacement pair falls apart at the sole. I come back, hoping to exchange them– and am told I CLEARLY tampered with the shoe on my own, or my dog chewed through it, or I stepped on a sharp object sideways, among other inappropriate accusations. After refuting these ridiculous claims, the guy says, «That must not be the shoe for you. Better luck next time. Would you like me to put some glue on it?» Thank you for single handedly RUINING my perception of your company. NEVER. GOING. BACK.

After years of buying shoes off the rack or in department stores I thought it was time to settle in for ‘real’ shoe fitting. Do yourself a favor and get re-​sized and consider purchasing a pair of super comfortable, well-​made shoes. The selection is top-​notch with high-​end brands (Merrill, Naot, Born, and so many more). Helpful staff and they will cut any inserts to fit while you wait.
