This place goes by the name Broken Eagle Recreation now. My wife and I just stayed in one of the cabins for the weekend. It was amazing, but your expectations must be set right first. If you’re expecting secluded luxury cabin in the woods, you’ll be disappointed. If you like tent camping, but want the comforts of a cabin, this will fit you just right. Greeted only by the camp dog, we mostly had the place to ourselves for the weekend. We were pleasantly surprised that a fire had been built in the fire pit for us(just add a flame!) and that the bathrooms were in great shape! We rarely saw the staff, but they made us feel very welcomed and were available by phone. A few things to be aware of: –There’s a biker bar on the premises. That may excite some and scare others. But we didn’t see it open the whole time we were there. –The bathrooms aren’t in the cabins. There’s a bath house. But it isn’t communal. You get a private bathroom that you can lock. Men’s on one side and women’s on the other. –Everyone is extremely laid back(extremely)! If you are used to room service or calling a front desk, you’ll probably leave angry. You can call the owner on his cell phone, but he doesn’t always pick up. But he will call you back. And you’re free to come and go as you please as long as you shut the gate behind you. And we weren’t given a check out time. Told we could leave whenever. For us, this was the perfect place. It was exactly what we were looking for. We plan to come back and bring our kids!

I used to love coming to 29 Dreams because it’s on a great motorcycle ride and close to the Barber Motorcycle Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of motorcycles(and also to the world’s largest collection of Lotus automobiles). Next to the museum is also the Barber Motorsports Park, a great race venue for both motorcycles and cars. Indy Car, SuperBikes and vintage motorcycle races are regular, and if you join an auto or motorcycle club or sign up for classes at the Porsche Driving School, you can drive on the track yourself. 29 Dreams closed when W tanked the economy, but Courtyard Oyster Bar & Grill reopened the place, including the cabins an campgrounds. I have not stayed overnight so can’t speak to the accommodations or to breakfast, but the atmosphere for afternoons and evenings is great. Usually live bands and good classic rock played otherwise. All ages are welcome though probably not as kid appropriate after 8pm.
