First let me say I’m slightly hesitant to write such a good review for fear this wonderful place will become super popular and make it more difficult for me to book it in the future… This cottage was everything we hoped for and more! –The owners Catherine and Mike were extremely friendly and helpful. They left us a note prior to reaching the cottage that included helpful information about it. –The bed was great. Big, comfortable, cozy and clean. –The bathroom was modern with a modern rustic feel. The bath/shower was unique but very relaxing. –The kitchenette had 4 burners and no stove(which we didnt need). We made dinner and had everything we needed to do so. –The heat source was a beautiful stove heater in the corner which made the room toasty while adding nice décor. –The décor was good and the furniture in the room gave it a home-like feel. We loved this place and see it as a secret gem. We’ll definitely stay again and will recommend it to friends. It exceeded our expectations and was a memorable experience!

A lovely place to escape! We stayed here for two nights to relax after the bar exam and had a great time. Michael and Catherine are great hosts, and their cottage is full of nice touches. The cabin is roomy and well-equipped and the bed is incredibly comfortable. The Ofuro Japanese-style soaking tub is truly luxurious, though it’s a little awkward to get in and out of it if you’re not very tall. I’m 5’4″ and had to do a little maneuvering, but it would be easy enough if you sit on the edge of the tub and get in and out that way — I wouldn’t even mention it, but the shower is in the tub so you’ll have to step in and out of the tub even if you don’t take a bath. The cabin has its own private patio and garden, so you feel very secluded. The kitchen is a great touch, though it’s missing a few things that would make it even more useful. We cooked our breakfasts and dinners there, and while it worked well enough there were a few things we would have liked. There was no dish soap, the freezer didn’t freeze anything(at the highest setting), and the knives were pretty dull. We still managed just fine and appreciated the selection of coffee and tea. You probably wouldn’t notice the few small issues with the kitchen supplies if you were just using the kitchen to make coffee and tea or fry up an egg. We only noticed because we were traveling on a budget and wanted to cook for ourselves. We also greatly appreciated the selection of movies, books, and CDs, and we found that we had everything we needed for quiet afternoons and peaceful evenings. This place is a gem and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a getaway on beautiful Vashon Island. It’s close enough to the ferry and is comfortably equipped. Definitely a great choice.
