There’s plenty of seating to get work done, and decent wifi. This place, unlike others on this lucrative Abbott Kinney block, is really low key in a non-faux-hipster kind of way. The service is great and not pretentious, and the space is bright and airy. Prices are moderated. I tried the chocolate cow, which is coffee and chocolate milk. Who can pass that up, even if slightly lactose intolerant? In any case, it was excellent! :-) I recommend stopping by here if you’re looking for a more relaxed alternative to Intelligentsia or Zinque, although those are also excellent options.

Came here on a lunch break off a coworkers recommendation. Ordered a build your own sandwich: a French roll, tomato, spinach, sprouts, avocado, and mozzarella cheese. With just a sandwich it totaled to $ 12.45 … For a sandwich. Though the price is not ideal, the sandwich was pretty good. Crisp tasting produce, VERY fresh mozzarella, and a bakery baked roll. I would return for lunch, but the price is not worth it.

I love stopping here before a nice beach run. The coffee selection is extensive, the smoothies are good, and it has a great vibe. Everyone is always so nice here– both the employees and the clientele, so it’s always a pleasure to go to.

I really enjoy this cozy spot for coffee. The owners are so nice! The vibe is really great. A lot of locals hang out here. And I love that they offer breakfast sandwiches now!

OG Venice! The prices have gone up, but it’s because of the rent. The owner is so OG and cares so much about his customers and business. I used to love Abbot Kinney. It felt like a real community, but that’s lost now. Abbot’s Habit is the last surviving Abbot Kinney staple the brings the original Venice community together. When I first moved to Venice it was 11pm and i needed coffee. I walked outside and walked to Abbot and although everything was closed to my surprise, even Abbots, Constintine let me in and gave me a welcome to the hood coffee when he was cleaning. Since then, I’ve been hooked. Great sandwiches and food. They now have breakfast sandwiches! The vanilla lattes are soooo good! They make them with powder instead of syrup. The crowd is Venice. The service is so Venice grunge with a smile. :) I just love this place and hope it stays on Abbot forever.

Great rustic café. We had quiche and a wrap with tea and iced coffee. All were very good.

They are so nice here — a true neighborhood business(still, as they have been for many years) at a time when the rest of Abbot Kinney has gone coolly chi-chi. Food and coffee are really good and the staff here are friendly and nice and care about the customers.

The sandwich was delicious! In fact we are it so fast that didn’t even have time to take a photo. But seriously — the bathroom are HORRIFYING! It feels like you’re in gas station bathroom in the middle of nowhere and no one cares to remodel it. Gross!

This local café/coffeehouse has a decent chicken Caesar wrap. The addition of very salty croutons inside the wrap is a little weird and I had to take them out, but otherwise the wrap was pretty solid. We also had the build your own turkey sandwich which was huge. House lemonade is refreshing and delicious. Breakfast menu looks good and I love that they open at 6 a.m.

So so in every way. A long time establishment that just seems to get by with coffee sales. Went there for breakfast and had a bagel with egg and avo which was very ok. Ordered a muffin too, asked which to have and the lady said” I don’t eat that stuff”. I can see why, the muffin said freshly made and it may have been a day or two before. Sad because this place was cool and hip long before money showed up on Abbot Kinney. So if you need a coffee, swing by, if you’re starving grab a snack and call it a day.

Study here all the time this place is dank considering it’s actually affordable. Not vibey at all, just venice. Food is good and the crowd is all over the place just like venice! Like someone else said this is the type of place I don’t want to see leave Kinney.

Probably my favorite spot on Abbot Kinney. It’s a down to earth coffee shop that’s been around for a long time. Cool scene and cool vibes. Everybody treats you so nicely and it’s a fun place to hang out. I’ve been coming here for years to get my morning coffee fix. The coffee is great. Strong, the way I like it. The bagels are fresh in the morning and you can create any sort of combination you like. They have great sandwiches and wraps too for lunch.

Great spot with great staff and art by Venice artists on the walls. The original laid-back AK café where you can get your caffeine fix in a speedy way. Iced mint green tea, free refill !

Abbot’s habit might probably the place to get coffee at when your budget isn’t that high! Their prices are just unbeatable on Abbot Kinney Rd. I like their regular coffee and my husband is a big fan of their iced mocha and the brownie. The granola is delicious and the bagels are good too! Plenty of tables inside and in case you love the sun as much as we do — grab a chair and sit outside!

Super good food. The anti-hipster wall art feels a little too ironic, but the food is solid. I went twice on a week-long trip to Venice and did a half sandwich with a rabbit juice each time. $ 12 lunch, but filling and fresh. The food comes up quickly, there’s a water tap, and ample places to sit.

Solid food, solid coffee, solid place. This is the kinda establishment that I never want to see leave Abbott Kinney. No its not as flashy or fancy as Gjelina or Salt Air, etc, but its a classic! And AK Blvd needs some spots like this for locals who aren’t raking in the dough. I love the down to earth casual vibe here. Feels like a traditional beach coffee house. The staff are friendly, the prices are resonable, and the fare is good.

Abbot’s habit is this special place where all the locals hang out like they own the neighborhood! It doesn’t give me a bad feeling! I feel like I am an insider. A nice and cozy place to grab a coffee, sit for a few minutes and resume your stroll on Abbot Kinney blvd all over again. It is pretty cheap price-wise, the quality just as much as you pay for it. I had a Latte and an apple pie. The Latte was good, so was the apple pie, not too sweet. There are some way better cafés in the area, so the standard is pretty high. Everything was served in disposable cutlery, nothing too fancy. Mediocre I would say, describes it the best.

Stopped by to pick up some breakfast and an iced coffee. Heard this was a popular local spot. Stopped in on a Saturday. Not a lot people here so we able to get our order pretty quickly. Liked the artsy and simple décor. The vibe here is very hipster and chill. Great place to unwind and relax. They have a lot of seating indoor and also provide free wifi for their customers. Got their everything bagel which was pretty good and their iced coffee was nice and fresh. Looked like they had a lot of interesting pressed juice flavors as well. Will definitley pick one up the next time.

I haven’t had anything that was to write home about, but it’s generally tasty, affordable, and cheap. Sandwiches keep pretty well and there is lots of seating. I almost had a lady take my sandwich at the counter, and she would have eaten it if I hadn’t of called out and told her she had taken the right one … but they were busy, so I’ll let it slide. I do have to talk about the employee integrity here, though. My brother lost his phone one day and when I called to find where it was, an employee from Abbot’s Habit picked up and let me know that he had left it at the counter here. This is a big deal, seeing that we are in Venice — it would be so easy to have just pocketed the phone and sold it. However, this employee did not. This is one of the big reasons why I still go eat at Abbot’s Habit — honest employees are important and it makes me happy to patron this establishment.
