Dagwoods on Main Street has shuttered. I believe there are other locations though.

good pizza, but new ownership/management could use some pointers. quality is starting to show. They should make a suggestion box to find out what customers think.

Mehh okay pizza. Nobody seems to be working, and are blown away when someone wants service. Boring salads and pastas. Other local options just crush it.

A friend and I ordered a pizza from here after a long night of BEER! Man, best pizza ever. I am fat and I was hanging out with a dude so I had to control myself but had I been eating this pizza alone then I probably would have devoured the entire thing. I believe we ordered a Margherita pizza or something and it was great.

I know many people liked this place and are sad that this location is closed. I am not one of them. Perhaps I just tried them at the wrong time… that time being that they knew the location would be closing, and so they lost interest in maintaining a cleanly restaurant. I didn’t want to put my arms on the table while I waited for my personal pie takeout, cause they clearly hadn’t been wiped off with a bleach rag after the last patrons who sat there. Guy behind the counter was more interested in what was on his phone then what was on the dining tables. Heard some rumors as to why this location closed, nothing too disturbing mind you, but I will say successful restaurants don’t close. Only the failing ones do. And based on my one visit… I’m not surprised this location is closed.

It’s not bad. It’s not good. 2.5 Stars. The slice has good sauce, ok cheese, and a very soggy, almost wet, kind of crust. It was very large soggy piece of pizza. Had it baked a little longer it might have been really good. Instead it was really gooey. It’s thicker than some might like NY pizza to be. The crust was pretty good. The salad lunch combo was good. I had a salad, 2 slices, and a drink for $ 10. The salad is not generic iceberg lettuce. It’s fairly plain though. Romaine, chick peas, olives, 3 tomato slices, and a jalapeño pepper. It was big enough.

I love pizza – all kinds, and really, I’m not that picky. I have to write this review simply because the Margherita pizza we ordered for delivery the other night from Dagwood’s was the worst, absolutely the closest to inedible I’ve ever found a pizza to be. I had ordered here in the past,(way past) and I didn’t remember it as being awful – but this one was virtually taste-free. If you are on a diet, and don’t really want to be tempted to eat more than one slice, I encourage you to order from here. Otherwise, seriously, you’d be way better off with Domino’s – or frozen, for that matter.

I tried this when checking out a new co-working spot once I got too hungry to work and liked that they have a deal with a choice(pizza, pasta or sandwich). The slices are HUGE and I mean huge as in bigger than my fricking head! I do love a good value, green olives on my pizza and thin crust!

Ordering here is extremely easy. Total time after initial order is approximately 45 seconds. No joke. All of you information is stored by your phone number, which is a good thing after spending all day at venice beach on a beach cruiser and needing extreme caloric replenishment. Pizza selection was pepperoni, green pepper and onion. Pizza was $ 20 for a large(very large). Pepperoni was plentiful –covered the entire piece-. Grease was abundant. Peppers were green and flavorful. Onions were tasty and pizza sauce was tomato-ey. Four stars for convenience, price, time to delivery and taste!

Friendly staff. Solid LA pizza. A little too springy dough for my taste, but decent cheese and a reasonable price. Always consistent. I like plain cheese. Solid for a quick slice anytime. My girlfriend likes it. Personally, I love Joe’s. So that means, we pick up pizza at Dagwood’s usually.

I love this place! The pizza is really good and the Italian sub is awesome! I really like the bread that they use for the sandwiches, its a nice sesame roll and the texture is soft and perfect without becoming soggy. The prices are pretty good, the ingredients are always fresh and the delivery is fast. BEST part about this place is the staff though, they are all really nice(I was suspicious at first actually, but I just moved here from the east coast, so it is to be expected I guess). DEF check this place out, way less expensive than Joe’s(even though Joe’s pizza is insane(the best pizza in santa monica) and reminds me of home).

My review will strictly be on what I ordered: Famous Avocado Salad — Fresh Spring Salad Mix, Caramelized Walnuts, & Fetta Cheese, topped off w/California Avocado, Pineapples & served w/Balsamic Vinaigrette JUSTWHAT I WASLOOKINGFOR! I hesitated to get a salad from here just because it’s known as a «pizza» shop and most pizza shops serve up crap salads. However this salad was ONPOINT. The sweetness of the pineapples really tied this whole salad together. And the fetta cheese. yum! Grilled Chicken Breast(Grilled Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast w/Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions, Mayo, & Red Wine Vinaigrette) ONWHEAT HEARTY sub sandwich, PACKED with flavor! OVERALL: I would come here just for this salad. Like I always say, YOUWON’T KNOWUNLESSYOUTRYITFORYOURSELF!

Wonderfully made pizzas with fresh quality ingredients! I had a friend that lived right near this place and we’d order pizza from Dagwood;s every time I went to visit her. They’d loveour orderes because we always got a lot of toppings. Some standout toppings are artechoke hearts, salami and meatball, but as I said before all of their toppings are high quality. Their sanwiches are also quite good as are their salads. Check them out!

This place is FANTASTIC! The famous avocado salad is one of my favorite lunches around, and the staff here is very, very nice. If you are near Main St … you must try this place. Great pizza and calzones too.

I love dining with my friend Marion. We go to swanky places and sometimes we go to dives. We usually go to Dagwoods due to the convenience. It’s super casual and the pizza is good. Service is good but casual. Huge slices and good lunch special. Heart.

4 for the food but service was lackluster. try the famous avocado salad. perfectly proportioned, if a tad over-salted. the sundried rose pasta dish is good, too. about $ 15 for a meal.

I never really crave for pizza before until I tried dagwood’s pizza! This might sound odd but the mushroom and pineapple pizza is my all the fav! The slices are huge and the cheese is melted perfectly on each slice! Mmmmm they also have good deals so u just have to call at ask :) the also have a wide variety of toppings to choose from :) they even have pastas, lasagnas, and hot/cold sandwiches!!! The sandwhiches are freak giantic so you will definately be stuffed! Yummy!!! The price is not bad for what your getting. I like this place and highly recommend it :) If you work off of main st. In Venice jut let them know and you will get a discount!!! How Awesome is that!

If it’s for convenience, I don’t mind dining at Dagwood’s. And that was the main reason my pre-med friends & I ate here after coming from a health meeting located so close to this Superman-colored, tiny pizzeria. After a bit of indecisiveness & figuring out who the hell’s the picky eater, we bought an XL Hawaiian Pizza for $ 18 + tax for 5 of us. I gushed my 2 slices with parmesan cheese b/c the pizza just tasted okay. Hate to be blunt, but Little Caesar’s is higher than this. The good news was that the dough’s a teeny crispy, & the pizza wasn’t at all greasy. Plus, we had a decent & cooperative counter lady to write our order. Again, for convenience, since it’s seriously walk away from the beach, that’s an «ok, fine.» Other than that, you’re much better off at other pizzerias.

Tried it on a whim. I was feeling adventurous. Nothing special. The crust wasn’t the thinest, the sauce was too sweet, and the cheese a little processed. Nice interior with lots of seating and nice service though. I suppose its good for a drunken slice of za but not much else.
