Some of the best bread pudding ever. The blueberry and salted caramel were to die for. Almost as good as having New Orleans BP w/Hot whiskey sauce. Topped with whipped cream is a perfect topping. highly recommend if you are in LA area. At Venice Beach.

Flavor-wise, the butterscotch bread pudding was pretty darn good! If you’re a home baker(I’m not), you might have your own opinions on textures and all that, but for a «why not» snack, it hit the spot. The cashier during the weekend was friendly and recommended a drizzle of caramel with whipped cream, which worked well. A single scoop is $ 4, and probably enough to share between 2 people. They have a tasty Thai tea as well, though it was pricey($ 5.50 for a large, and not even a drop of alcohol!). Picnic table seating is shared with Poke Poke.

It’s good. Just a window. No shade. It’s never been my choice to come here but I always take bites. I’m not a bread pudding connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination, but I like it here. Macchiato is fantastic. Service is decent. There’s picnic tables to sit.

I had(what used to be) Schulzie’s Bread Pudding on my bookmarks forever until I saw the Unilocal page closed; now called Espresso Yo Self… which is what i’m about to do below! After having dinner close by, we took a walk down Venice boardwalk for some bread pudding. At the window, we ordered a double scoop of bread pudding for $ 6. Opted for the salted caramel and vanilla bread pudding with a side of whipped cream. My first bite was of the salted caramel. WAY too sweet. I had to wipe some of the caramel off before eating anymore. The vanilla bread pudding had a very subtle taste of vanilla with sprinkles. Nothing great. Was pretty much the same bread pudding with different toppings. The overall consistency of the bread pudding was extremely mushy. Who serves bread pudding cold!!! Not worth it.

Cold bread pudding with nasty canned whip cream. Way too much sugar and artificial flavors. The asian girl that works there was talking on her phone while taking my order and she had a nasty disposition. Never going back. They also claim to proudly serve intelligencia coffee. Tasted like freeze dried Folgers.

Cool little coffee shop just off the Venice Oceanwalk. Decent prices for Americano coffee 2.89 and we purchased a mixed berry smoothie for 5.50. Check in on Unilocal and get $ 1.00 off your bill. The smoothie was fresh nice presentation with the berries on top.

2÷11÷16 The check in says $ 1 off any item but was told it was only on the bread pudding. The info needs to be corrected.

Best cappuccino in LA, hands down. I know that’s a big claim from a hole in wall on the Venice Boardwalk, but there you have it. I tried the bread pudding once and wasn’t a fan, but I walk there every weekend for a coffee and a bagel. Top spot

Review is for the Vanilla Bread Pudding. After eating at Poke Poke, my friend was wanted to try the bread pudding here. We saw someone get a double and were intrigued. The bread pudding was SOMOIST, I was glad that I was able to try it. It came with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. Don’t forget to check in for $ 1 off!

What a cute little hidden coffee shop! They sell Intelligencia Coffee and fresh food! The bread pudding is amazing and I’m not really a bread and pudding kinda girl. I had the bah mi sandwich with egg. Big enough for two. My coffee was perfect!

Loved the Intelligencia coffee but the bread pudding(cookies and cream) is just ok. I wanted to try Schulzie’s Bread Pudding for a while and it was not all its cracked up to be. Besides, this café is more of a window on the busy boardwalk with zero shade.

This little window on the side of the Venice Beach boardwalk used to be known as Schulzie’s Bread Pudding. And fans of that sweet decadence, don’t fret! It is still there. However it’s now turned into more of a tiny café surrounded by a few benches, and a few extra menu items than a sweets shop, as it once was. The coffee is still amazing and pretty decent quality as far as LA coffee shops go. It’s Intellegista, by the way. You have your regular run-of-the-mill cappuccinos, macchiatos, and lattes, as well as sweet concoctions like the TJ Latte(hot or iced), which is more of a Vietnamese-style coffee, and the Dirty Chai, which is another sugar bomb you can’t pass up. They also have a few teas, Arnold Palmers, and different types of bottled water if that’s your shtick. The food is also decent, with the menu offering veggie and non-veggie sandwiches like the Banh Mi. The pastries are meh. But with Schulzie’s delicious bread pudding on the menu, who cares? You have your pick of creamy coconut, salted caramel, rich chocolate, and other seasonal favorites, all there for your indulgent pleasure. So, go ahead. Espresso Yo Self!

Thank goodness we found this FABULOUS little place! Best latte I think I have ever had and a $ 5 vegan Banh Mi sandwich. I don’t know if I will ever find that good of a deal in CA ever again! The staff were so nice and when our sandwiches took a little while to make we found out it was because they made the tofu to order! I mean, come on, talk about fresh. Such a treasure.

It was not really what I expected, given the great reviews i’ve read on Unilocal.I guess I prefer bread pudding warm with toasty edges, rather than cold and soft throughout. The taste was decent, but i’m not sure if the bread pudding could stand on its own without the extras(whipped cream, caramel drizzle, chocolate chips, etc). It was something different, so it was worth stopping by and giving it a try.

Excellent latte & I love that they had skim milk. Even though I didn’t partake the bread pudding looked divine. Nice location.

Very good, love that there’s a designated bread pudding spot on the Venice boardwalk. Its a little shack next to poke poke, and kind of hidden. But once found– super good! Just had lunch before so we were super full, but couldn’t help ourselves and had to try this. Got the chocolate bread pudding and the banana which counts as a double and was $ 6. A single is $ 4. Me and my bf were showing friends from out of town and they got the Arnold palmer which they said and I quote«best Arnold palmer ever» lol I didn’t get to try it though but next time. Btw the banana was a little sweet, caramel drizzle on top and the texture was soft, nothing too exordinary like what they would serve at a fancy restaurant. The chocolate had chocolate chips on top and drizzled chocolate sauce. Would be 5 stars if it was at least heated up. Topped with whip cream and expect full sweetness. Nothing too fancy to cater sugar sensitivities. Overall I will come here again on an empty stomach to get the full lunch and dessert from poke poke and banana bread to end my meal but just a single next time. I would want to try to the blueberry for suree

Not what I expected. A sweet ball of mush, tasty mush, but disappointing none the less. When I order bread pudding, I expect warm and gooey and preferably with a crunchy or at least toasted top. Not cold, round and mushy. Salted caramel was definitely better than cookies and cream. Didn’t know we could sample until I just saw the Unilocaler comments now. Thank goodness we just happened upon this place while in Venice rather than trekking out specifically for it. Drip coffee was good and strong but overpriced.

I highly recommend this place. The coffee here is both extremely tasty and visually appealing; probably the best coffee I’ve ever had. Add«yoself» a slice of bread pudding and life has just become a little more delicious.

I was the only one in line, but had to wait 5min to get acknowledged… and 7 to get my order taken. I ordered the Drip Coffee. My order was made after like 8 other orders that came in after mine. The coffee was warm, not hot. It wasn’t anything special. Luckily I got $ 1 off from Unilocal… that was the saving grace. Will go elsewhere next time.

Great HOMEMADE Carmel sauce makes the salted Carmel bread pudding complete! It’s very simple and tasty and just a great all around treat. The only thing I would suggest is to be able to add ice cream to the bread puddings like I’ve head they do in San Francisco location. Also a bit more choices but it’s good for being a little quick spot on the Venice Boardwalk. Also Good service here too.

I’ve tried something new each time, and was very impressed with the quality and variety of every item so far! Bread pudding; DANK. Sweet & simple. The TJ latte; WOW!!! My pick-me-up. The Vietnamese sandwiches; EXQUISITE& savory! And to keep it simple, I enjoy sipping on a cup of hot tea or coffee, which are premium! Employees are so very sincere. Wonderful shop a stones throw away from muscle beach, right near the tennis courts. Such good pricing too! Always looking forward to stopping by. Thanks Espresso Yo Self!

*Review #75/365 for 2015 This place used to be called Schulzies. I had Schulzies bookmarked for the longest time. I even tried to come here during the summer when it was crazy busy, but the day I chose to come was when they temporarily closed this place for remodeling. I recently visited this place and found that it’s now called Espresso Yo Self. I wonder if that’s why they closed for remodeling. Anyway, I had this bookmarked because during a bread pudding craze I had, I researched different places that had bread pudding. I thought it was interesting that this place had different flavors and that it was served cold. Pictures look delicious and amazing… Well, when I finally was able to taste this, I guess it was built up in my head. I had the salted caramel flavor which was good, but being served cold was just too weird for me. I’m used to warm bread pudding. They had a few other flavors, but it wasn’t amazing enough for me. It’s hard to find parking at Venice Beach, so the only time I would revisit this place is if I was already in the area.

Got the iced TJ latte and it was delicious. It tasted like a Vietnamese coffee as the man behind the counter had said. Prices are average and the service is great! Nice location right by Venice beach and right next door to Poke Poke.
