Great burger with fresh toppings. AWESOME fries(homemade style, never frozen). Got one of the big boxes of fresh fruit for us all to share. Others in our group got wraps which they said were really good. Small menu, but what they have is great. Both indoor and outdoor seating, with only one big table inside(which was perfect for us side we were 11 including the kids). Great ambiance. Really unusual art on the walls. Mixed media and children’s toys on canvas. Odd, but kind of cool. Bottom line: Go here instead of getting the crappy boardwalk food. You’ll get fuller for the same price, and it will taste and be better for you. Also, the FRIES!

Petite sandwicherie faisant des plats simples et pas trop chers, 5 tables dehors dans l’allée une grande table à l’intérieur, pas mal pour manger sur le pouce mais accueil moyen. Les frites sont fraîches.

OK the staff and baristas get a 5 for great customer service and for turning my hot drink into an iced one. The one star is because my Tiger spiced Chai was complete crap. When I first walked in I wanted a dirty Chai with 2 shots. Thank goodness I did not go through with that or else I would be crying as I write this review. So I asked what a tiger Chai was. got a vague explanation. I was like oh ok I’ll give it a go why not. The cashier was awesome for trying to accommodate me and trying his best at answering my questions… the manager and the owners didn’t even come out after he ran back 3x to relay my questions to them they could have been more personal. this is why I’ll fork out money to small businesses… because they USUALLY make you feel welcome. Anyways, the baristas made my drink. And gladly poured it over ice because I forgot to say iced. I took a sip… meh. Barely tasted the chai. …actually you could barely taste anything at all. I’ll take a mediocre Starbucks over the tasteless junk I had yesterday. I tried REALLY hard to like my drink yesterday… WASNOOOOO. My heart aches at the thought of death by expensive tastelessness. I’ll make sure to stop by the Nordstrom café, kean, gypsy den, even McDonald’s Starbucks or coffee bean before I hit up this sad hole in the wall who has managers and owners who are NOT supervising and training their staff well enough to answer questions knowledgeabley and even make a drink with enough bloody flavor in it. UGH. If you want to taste your drink and feel like the owners and managers are a real part of a place… don’t go here :)

Great little place with inside and outdoor seating, love that its hidden. It allows some privacy from all the shops and people. Food is great, we had a grilled chicken salad. The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection!

This is the place to go when you’re looking for great food and good service. Nice and cozy kind of in the back of the strip when walking around the boardwalk… I had the bacon burger and added avocado and it was delicious! Totally will go here again.

What’s up with the bad reviews? I went in today, I’m local and am VERY Happy I walked in for the first time! Great Food and really nice young people working hard to make everyone who walked in happy. I ate my food there, inside, so I watched and listened and all was well at Sean’s Café. It is Christmas today and being one of the few places NICE enough to be open I gave it a try. I had the Chicken Wrap Special with Fries, Honestly, the Food was Great!!! It’s as simple as that. My fresh Groundworks Organic Coffee was included as my drink in the special!!! Great Value and I’ll definitely go back. Maybe there’s new people working there now or whatever but definitely eat here!!!

Felt like having a burger and wanted to get away from the throngs of people while eating. It’s location is a bit hidden which was great. There was also plenty of seating when I arrived(Sunday @ 4pm). All in all, it provided a nice respite from the chaos that is Venice Beach. I had the quarter pound cheeseburger with fries. I enjoyed the fries, but the burger was about average. I can’t really rave about this place, but I can’t bash it either. I guess the determining factor would be price. I would say I got a good amount of food for the price – around 6 $. I can see myself going there again in the future.

I live right around the corner and this place never fails to disappoint me. Last time I showed up 10 minutes after they opened and the guy said they wouldn’t be open for another 20 minutes. When I asked him if they changed the hours or running late he mumbled and closed the window. I would have been happy if he just offered me a drink or took my order, neither happened. Today I showed up at 12:04 and asked if I can order breakfast. The girl says if it’s noon then no. Way to go for customer service. I understand the employees are not chefs and therefore, the food leaves something to be desired, but at least try and pretend like you want to be there. A little kindness and sincerity goes a long way. Who knows, ya may even get some tips. I won’t be coming here for a while because it is not convenient anymore. 2 stars because the standard coffee here is pretty decent… if they open on time.

Bought the Sean’s combo wrap and the food was just OK. Would rather go to Figtree but the line was very long. They should work on their presentation at Sean’s. The shopfront itself isn’t very inviting.

My family’s order was taken wrong TWICE. The first time the cashier forgot 3 items, the second time my garden burger was missing the cheese I asked for and it also had tuna on it which I did NOT ask for. So, I gave her back the burger and as she was explaining it the some angry guy in the kitchen he became even more mad about this mistake. Oh and the cashier was tudey with me which I don’t understand. I don’t know if it was her fault for taking down the order wrong or the cooks halfassing orders, but either way it wasn’t my fault. I should have gotten what I paid for and sans their attitude. That guy should have stayed home if he was going to have such a shitty attitude. Or go sit out on the beach and cool off…

When I visit the Venice strand(couple times a month), I make sure to save my appetite for a veggie wrap from Sean’s. One of the best veggie wraps in Los Angeles! And the fresh-cut french fries are excellent! Totally worth the wait.

The burger here is THEBEST! Tastes fresh and is always the same quality every time I return and DON’T LETANYONEONHERE tell you otherwise. Always spot on. In fact, I think the burger tastes just a little bit better every time I come here. I stand by my statement that this is the best burger on the boardwalk hands down.

Sean’s Café is a decent place for food, on par with a lot of the spots on Venice Beach’s strand on Ocean Front. The food is okay, nothing spectacular per se, as far as a «must have, gotta come back for» signature dish or menu item. A hamburger is about $ 4.00, and if you add the«Fries and Drink» combo, its about another $ 3.50, so generally it’s about anywhere from $ 5 to $ 10 to eat here for lunch. I will say ‘tho, the serve FRESHCUTFRENCHFRIES, for that reason alone they do stand head and shoulders above their peers who serve the golden frozen french fries that are inferior to the fresh cut ones. The food is not fast food, and they cook it to order, so if you don’t have patience, please note that. The will cook a hamburger«to order» meaning Medium Rare, a rarity with many places. The beef patty however is slightly thin, so doesn’t really cook to a medium rare well, so comes out more medium, but still at least moist and juicy and not dried out. The bacon they serve with the hamburgers is thick and crispy, it’s quite good. Generally, I’d say I’d give this«*** «stars for the food, it’s A-OKAY and good solid food. However, I’m adding the extra«* «star for 2 reasons based on service 1) They were kind enough to allow a friend of mine to use a power outlet to charge her cell phone. 2) They were kind enough to provide a complimentary refill on the soft drink, despite signs clearly noting there’s a fee for refills. So, I can support the fact that they put forth the efforts of customer service above and beyond expectations and have earned my praise based on my experience visiting Sean’s Café. Parking in the area is typical of Venice Beach, but if you park over around Grand and Main in that area about 2 – 4 blocks down the residential neighborhood(I can’t believe I’m giving away my parking secrets and creating competition for the very spaces I’ll eventually come to seek and not have accessible) for unlimited FREE parking(aside from the overnight hours and the street cleaning hours you should read and take note of), then you can easily walk along the Ocean Front Walk Venice Beach Strand, people watch and find yourself at 514, and Sean’s Café…

The food is fresh and much better than the pure JUNK, sold on the boardwalk. We chose to eat here, simply because my picky girlfriend cannot tolerate greasy, cheap junk food and the off-the-path, alleyway ambiance is better than standing-up, Taco Truck style. If you’re complaining about the wait — that is the trade-off, for freshly-made food. If you sit outside in their tiny patio — your food is brought to you in a breakfast tray with condiments and drinks too. Sometimes, you gotta clear your own patio table, if you want outside seating. Just make sure your drink refills are FREE.

I stopped in here twice, once for breakfast once for lunch, for the sole purpose of avoiding standard boardwalk junk fare, but not wanting to wait long at one of the better restaurants. Breakfast — Three employees behind the counter, one person ahead of me. I ordered an omelet and coffee. It took nearly a half hour to get my omelet, which was not bad, but not great either. Coffee was weak and nothing special. Toast accompanying the omelet came out as dry as the Sahara Desert, so I asked for butter, which was frozen. Since no knife was supplied to spread the butter and I did not want to bother the staff while they were chatting with each other(which they had been doing since I walked in the place), I made do with a coffee stick. Lunch(on a different day) — Again, not wanting to eat crappy food on the boardwalk or wait to sit down elsewhere, I figured, «Let’s try again.» No-one ahead of me in line, 5 employees this time(still chatting with each other) and I figured a salad couldn’t possibly take that long to whip up. I was wrong again, and again was served a dry plate. No dressing, but since I took it to go I didn’t realize this till later. It’s too bad they can’t figure out how to speed things up(I can only imagine how long the wait would be at peak times) and go a little further in providing essentials, like butter, cream cheese, salad dressing, and utensils. The place would have potential for customers like me who do not want to eat crap or wait in line elsewhere, but oh well, if I’m going to have to wait a half hour for food, I might as well sit down at The Fig or one of the better places. It is nice they provide a place to sit down if you want to. Too painful to watch these people«work» while you are waiting.

Ouch at some of these reviews. I was visiting from PA and we wanted to get something to eat at Venice. My boyfriend got a burger, and I bought a chicken salad. Both of us were very happy with our meals, and we ate outside. We were past closing time, but they were nice enough to serve us. Everyone was very friendly. Didn’t use the bathrooms, but honestly, I’m sure theirs doesn’t hold a candle to Venice Beach’s park bathrooms. I wouldn’t go near those if I was drowning in my own urine!

The other half loves this place. Me, aaah, not so much. The location is good. Nice break from the craziness that can be Venice Beach. The courtyard seats still allow for people watching. The food, nothing to write about. Literally. Standard ‘beach deli’ fare, prepared by adequate staff. My burger was extremely dry and way overcooked. They take forever and it’s almost as if they’re doing you a favor. The bathroom was clean when I went, apparently this is not always the case, reading others’ reviews. Guess I lucked out. Just an OK place if you need a break from the Venice cacophony of people.

Sean’s Café is conveniently located in Gingerbread Court, nicely situated amongst a few boutiques with a fair sized menu. Not to be confused with a sit down restaurant, Sean’s Café boasts large portions of greasy, cooked, wraps, and burgers, salty fries, and a full feeling at the end of a meal. The service is okay, when the newbies know what they’re doing, but they are very friendly. The food is not the best, but the prices are some of the best on this side of the boardwalk.

$ 4.85 for a peach soy chai!!! Fuck, I forgot to say latte. I never drink cold. She didn’t ask and assumed. Still my fault, but I doubt it would have made a difference. The hot apple pie was good. «Why is the dude(Sean?) behind the counter in such a shitty mood?» «Uh, did you see his hat?» «Uh, no…» «It was a Colts hat.» *insert loud synchronized laughter from deep in the belly* Way to hide those feelings, yo!
