I came in here the other day to buy some concealer and lip gloss and was disappointed to see they are moving to WeHo! That will make it inconvenient for me to go, but this is still a good spot to go to try/buy eco-makeup. Staff is helpful and the amount of products are manageable so you don’t feel overwhelmed. They carry only three makeup lines — Rosemarie Swift, Jane Iredale, and Josie Maran. I like to go in there and play with the makeup. ;) I understand they do threading here as well, but it is WAY overpriced. You can get threading done for half the price in Culver City or elsewhere. I guess their services are for those that are not in the know about threading. Clever marketing that they can spin threading as «eco» — it is at its core, but it is also kind of annoying when folks take ancient practices then rebrand them to make a profit.

Pros: you will be turned on to very interesting skin care, cosmetic, and fragrance lines by a knowledgeable and passionate staff. Cons: the stuff is really expensive, though it’s not easy to tell what is ingredients and what is markup. If you pay $ 300 a jar for la mer and $ 32/lipstick for chanel, you should be spending that dough here. If you spend $ 2 a jar for vaseline, and $ 5 for cover girl, this is not your place.

SKINHEALTH&NATURALBEAUTY = VERT Are you buying and eating organic? And what kind of shampoo or lotion are you using? Are you comfortable in your own skin? Figuratively and literally? Skin deep. The skin is the largest organ and absorbs everything you put onto it right into your bloodstream. The majority of skin and body care products are results of chemical laboratory and animal testing. Without knowing, you are rubbing toxins all over your body(such as parabens and Sodium laureth sulfate, or sodium lauryl ether sulfate(SLES), a detergent and surfactant found in many personal care products(soaps, shampoos, toothpaste etc.). An inexpensive and very effective foaming agent, SLS is a known irritant. SLES and SLS, and products containing them, have been found to contain very low levels of the known carcinogen 1,4-dioxane… Read on. It does’(NT) get better… Parabens — found in most brand name CONVENTIONAL care products — mess up your hormones. Most conventional perfumes contain HEAVYMETALS(suspected cause of MS) and FORMALDEHYDE(carcinogenic=cancer causing) I don’t want to go into more detail, it’s scary and eye-opening and this is not the time and place — so GOOGLE it. There are ALTERNATIVES(in the true sense of the word) that are way better for you, period. For your overall health, your skin, and the earth! VERT, LA’s first and only NATURAL skin and body care H(E)AVEN! for the thin, fair, and sensitive-skinned, is the brainchild of health and earth conscious Hollywood makeup artist Renata Helfmann. She is not just one of the leaders of the LA-LA-land beauty squad but has first hand experience with the adverse health effects from conventional skin and body care which she knowledgably shares both in her skin health emporium and as a speaker at eco events. Better and different than what you can get at that great health food store chain that is my second home :-), VERT carries pure, natural, organic, non-toxic, bio-dynamic, soothing, pampering brands. You can shop/select natural, non-toxic products according to your individual problems/skin and hair condition at ,(e.g., acne, hyperpigmentation, eczema, fine lines & wrinkles, razor burn etc.) Is that cool or what? Free shipping over $ 100. For PEOPLE, BABIES and for man’s best(four-pawed & furry) friends!!!

I have a borderline crazy obsession with natural and organic products, so I was pleased to hear of Vert when I was shopping at the nearby Topo Ranch on Abbot Kinney. This is the kind of store I would open if I were going into the cosmetics/skin care business. It’s clean and simple inside so the different lines are easy to tell apart and sample. The woman at the front was very sweet to me and we had a small conversation about various product lines. There are also pamphlets for different lines so you can read more about them — a definite plus! I have not yet had a chance to try their threading, but I was really excited to hear that the gentleman who was applying makeup to another customer also specialized in that treatment. Vert also has a very informative website that you can shop from in case you can’t make it to the west side. The prices aren’t on the cheap side but that’s because more natural and organic products tend to cost more. Let me tell you — it’s totally worth the price!

She carries jane iredale’s line… Renate put the powder w/spf 20 on me, then I went to the beach. It wore very nicely, next I’ll try the liquid foundation. She carries great, green lines. I loove Ren, the cleanser and the moisturizer(I liked the science of mixing the oil and balm, but it could get tedious) it made my skin really even and smelled delectable.

i recently visited los angeles, and this store. as a new yorker, i was taken with how many businesses in la seem to be concerned with their products or services being«green». vert did not disappoint, and i bought a couple of products that i really like, by lines that are hard to find here in nyc. the standout was a camomile balm by arcona– the pollution & sun had done a number on my skin, and this product really helped. the staff(or owner?), however was almost not at all helpful. i got the impression that the woman who helped me steered me toward the arcona product almost by accident. she seemed completely clueless about what«irritated skin» could possibly be. after my explanation that the skin was red & irritated, she asked to look at it, she told me that she thought that it was«red and looks like it’s having a reaction to something». really? that’s what i just told you… however, despite being a bit daft, she did get me what i needed… thanks, vert!

Love Vert! They have the best organic/natural products. I tried the Arcona skin care line for the first time a few months ago and it has done wonders for my skin. It is the best skincare line I have ever used! I would have given them five stars for their products however I gave four because it is a bit pricey.

Dear Vert, I love you because your eco friendly, your clean modern vibrations, and you have things that are pretty. I have purchased a coupla things from here, and I’m like –whatevs– Sent my girlfriend a care package of some makeup. she liked. Bought myself some Red Flower shower gel that smells of spanish gardenia(super lovely!). I am a HUGEHUGEHUGEHUGE stickler for bubblies whilst I bathe. I asked the sales girl if this lathered. «OHhhh yes, it’s amazing, it lathers quite nicely.» NOT Shit doesn’t lather. If it wasn’t for the amazing scent, I would have stomped right back into that store and demand that Vert hire me instead of the other misinforming mother wha wha. But I’ll be back vert, I’ll be back.

an eco-chic beauty boutique, i’m in LUV! VERT… it means GREEN in French and is the first of its kind in LALALAND. 100% all natural products are so hard to find under one roof, but VERT does a darned good job! the store is beautifully fresh, OFCOURSE. love their color schemes, logo, business cards and interior design. it goes perfectly with the products they sell. NATURAL and ohhhh so good for you. i am REALLY picky about fragrances. can never find an herbal, natural, lavendar & citrus inspired scent thats not too musky. well, i found my new OBSESSION in this eco-paradise. HESPERIDE by PATYKA. It’s appropriately a French organic perfume and i had to have it even though it was a bit pricey. i’m gonna save my pennies so i can splurge very soon. guilt-free shopping right? good for me, good for MOTHEREARTH!
