Based on the name its not surprising the pork and veggie dumplings were excellent and surely freshly prepared. The dough was tender with perfect chew. Fresh tasting and well-seasoned fillings as well Decent to good dim sum as long as you don’t try to compare it to the best places in NYC area, you should be satisfied. I am just happy there is a dim sum option in this area even if it is not the best. Pork fried rice was a good non-exciting version. Efficient and friendly service. Ordinary but comfortable atmosphere.

I never thought I’d find dim sum at a place called China Dumpling, but I was completely wrong. Shame on me! We came here on a Saturday morning and though we were a bit bemused by the sheer emptiness of the place, we made our pencil marks on the dim sum order menu and sipped at our oolong tea. Though I’ve had better flavour from other dim sum places, what surprised me was how non-greasy everything tasted — like it’d been prepared fresh, or something along those lines. My deep-fried taro pork balls(wu-kok) were perfectly crispy, not soggy, while the little sticky rice in lotus leaf package had perfect proportions of rice and meat. Shrimp dumpling(ha gao) and shrimp wrapped in rice noodle was a bit flat, the pork-and-shrimp shumai can be passed, and barbecue pork buns were barely decent. The two big winners of the morning were the turnip cake(nice, hot, fluffy and delicious!) and the egg tarts(freshly baked, piping hot, flaky crust and just the right amount of sweetness in the custard). Great, friendly service from the folks in the restaurant — they were quick to apologize for the wait on the egg tarts(completely and utterly worth it, like I mentioned). We’ll be back for another round on our next weekend in AC.

Hooray! A Dim Sum place that isn’t in Philly’s Chinatown. Went there the other night and they were very accommodating. It’s true they usually only serve Dim Sum from 11 to 3, but it was a really slow night so they let us order off of the Dim Sum menu. Very good stuff. I’ve had larger portions of sticky rice, but it was just as tasty. Nothing to complain about — though I would love it if they put their dim sum menu online so that we could have previewed before going. Hummm… and no bok-choy dishes?

Not bad.(For Ventnor, NJ that is) Had the Hot and Sour Soup, well done had the right taste to it. Could have been served hotter and a bit spicier. But a very good start. Lips had the Lettuce Wrap. Huge portion, enough for two people. Taste was very good. I had 6 steamed Pork Dumplings, very large and enough for two to share. Entrees: Lips had a Lobster Meat, chicken and Pork dish which was very tasty for 18.95. I had which I never have had before and for Shits and Giggles, Beef Chow Fun. I have to admit it was good with a good quality meat. I couldn’t finish it and so Lips had it to munch on at home later that night. This is a better experience than when I ordered Take out a few weeks ago. So, go in and enjoy it.

We took out from China Dumpling last Sunday night, the food is still rotting in the refrigerator. The vegetarian dumplings were PORK, the spareribs were sans meat, the shrimp and Chinese vegetables was OK, but apparently rice is extra and did not come with it. The evening left my family of 4 hungry and irritated. Is there any descent Chinese to be found on Absecon Island??? Methinks NOT!

Who knew Ventnor City has such a great dim sum place… We came to this restaurant on a Sunday morning a little suspicious/afraid at the lack of customers on a prime dim sum day. But don’t be fooled — this place boasts an extensive selection of turnip cake, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, shumai, ha gao, chashu steamed buns, shrimp wrapped in rice noodle. I usually judge dim sum places by their turnip cake — this one was soft and fluffy, not over fried. Everything was very very tasty and the prices right on point. Will come back again when we visit Atlantic City!

Had dim sum here with a group of friends over the weekend and we were surprised by how good it was. We were told there was no good dim sum in the Atlantic City area but our impression was that it was comparable to good places in New York City. Had very good fried turnip cake and stick rice as well as other standard fare(shrimp dumplings, chicken feet, etc.).

Yummy Dim Sum! I love Dim Sum but there aren’t many places that serve it locally. Usually I have to go to north jersey or China Town in Philly or New York for good Dim Sum. China Dumpling is every bit as good! They serve Dim Sum here every day from 11am — 3pm and have a variety of regular menu items and do takeout and delivery! We went here just for the Dim Sum although the menu items that other tables ordered looked delicious. Everything looked fresh and vibrant — not overly sauced like a lot of other Chinese places. The Dim Sum dishes are $ 2.95 each and generally have 3 generous pieces per plate. We went a little overboard and ordered 9 things for 2 people(lots of food — took about half home!) but we wanted to try lots of things. Everything we ordered was good, especially the cheung fun shrimp noodles — my favorite Dim Sum food EVER! I probably would have been happy with 9 plates of those! The shrimp and green peppers were also particularly yummy as were the turnip cakes. Everything was light and flavorful and freshly prepared. Even the water tasted good! The service was also great — our server was very nice and attentive, and the restaurant is clean. We’re already planning to go back next weekend — I’m definitely going to have to try something off the regular menu(in addition to cheung fun of course!) If you like Dim Sum, check this place out! They just opened in June and I want them to be around for a long time, so go on, give them some business!
