Aaron Brothers always has a sale of one sort or another going on. The 1 cent sale is my favorite. Seems like even when they don’t have that one going, they have some sort of steep saving sale… But sale or no sale, this is a great place if you need art supplies or have a foto that needs a frame. And if you can’t find a ready made frame to fit the Picasso grandma gave you, they also do custom framing. The staff, in my experience has always been friendly and professional, ready to offer advice and insights to help me achieve my goals.

This business is a high-end specialty shop for frames and other home necessities that make a home a home. I went(specifically) to seek help. I have an original painted sign I found screwed to a wooden light pole(2 yrs come this August) in Mexicali, Baja California while visiting family. BTW, That Saturday night, at 10:45 pm, the temperature was 113 deg. F. The sign was painted on a 30×30(approx) piece of cardboard. With gr8 difficulty, I finally took it down. I’ve been wanting to frame it. As far as I can see, it’s a piece of valuable Mexican Cultural Art. A form not found easily anywhere. It depicts a «Luchador» reminiscent of «Nacho Libre.» The fella(at Aaron’s) was very courteous and helpful. He immediately loved the poster of the«Luchador.» He said he could make me a custom frame for a reasonable price and I took it. He walked me thru the process of framing it, which I knew nothing about. In any event. Go visit Aaron’s. You’ll like the laid back browsing over many items of which you may like. P. S. When my «Luchador» is framed, I’ll post it on Unilocal. Please check it out. Thanks.

2 Stars for the Staff and the great deals I came in to buy $ 110+ worth of art supplies and ended up depending around $ 95 for half of the supplies I needed. They were all out of the quantities I needed and had to buy double the amount for more money(for example I needed 12 Watercolor pencils and they only had 24). The staff on the other hand is very knowledgable and will personally help you find every item on your list of they are all in stock(which they probably won’t be).

We had two prints custom framed here. The customer service was pretty great– the guy helping us(Ryan?) took his time and made sure we had considered all of our framing options. He was patient even when I was indecisive, and his input was valuable and helpful. Pretty pricey in the end, but totally worth it. Very satisfied with the final result.

I like this store. Not only do they have art supplies and frames but they have terrific craft items for children. If you are a granny who paints you can do some other shopping when you come for your supplies. The people who work here are helpful, courteous, and upbeat. It’s also in a good location with easy parking.

After living in SF for a while, you get used to huge sprawling art supply stores. Ventura definitely is not that kind of place. That aside, I really love the Aaron Brothers franchise, and I particularly love this store. I’m pretty sure they are in the middle of a remodel, so it’s looks a little more scattered than the other branches, but the staff is friendly(in a quiet sort of way) and always down to help you find stuff. I had the pleasure of meeting the manager the other night. He restored my faith in humanity. I was oogling over the easels I couldn’t afford, and he honored a 50% that I didn’t even know they were circulating! I got a $ 120 easel for half off. He was passionate about the store and the products they carry, as well as the franchise’s general reputation. Every time I shop at Aaron Brothers, I make out like a bandit. Sometimes I find myself unable to pick out the things I need because they are always packed with amazing stuff. So, I usually just end up defaulting on their inexpensive canvases. If I could work anywhere in the world, seriously, this place would be it.
