Alexander’s is and always will be my favorite Sunday brunch in So Cal. Anyone and everyone I’ve brought w me to enjoy this brunch(and the restaurant itself) has had nothing but wonderful things to say about it thereafter. Still not tired of the wonderful entrees even after being a regular there for 7+ years! They never cease to amaze me. Food and service always top notch. The patio has a stunning view of the Ventura Marina, nothing short of breathtaking on a day w perfect weather.

Lovely. Professional. Tasty. I don’t know why we don’t come here more often. The service is excellent. The food is pretty good. The crowd is so nice and friendly. It’s always best and clean. We leave with a big smile. I won’t take so long in visiting next time.

Stayed at the Four Points and had lunch here during our stay. Staff were amazing and friendly, food was good, prices not exactly cheap but portions huge. Had sandwiches and soup and salad loved them all. No complaints at all, wish we had more opportunities to eat here during our trip as a matter of fact!

We had«Alexanders» recommended to us by a friend who goes to brunch there regularly. We decided to try it out on Thanksgiving. This would be the first restaurant Thanksgiving dinner we ever went to. Booking a table proved to be very difficult; the(unfriendly) receptionist would eventually take and transfer the booking to the restaurant, bad start. On Thanksgiving day the restaurant was mobbed. we were seated in about 10 minuets, not bad. There was a good selection of food at the buffet tables, regularly replenished, no skimping here. Carvery service however, was sluggish and skimpy with portions. The overall quality was very good. Our waiter, Ruben R. was excellent! He ensured our glasses were filled and coffee on hand. He and the restaurant staff worked very hard, to provide great service to a very large crowd. They account for the forth star in our rating. The(unfriendly) front desk receptionist could learn from her restaurant co workers. And, based on our experience at «Alexanders», yes, we will return for Sunday brunch.

Sunday brunch was yummy, good variety of dishes, comfortable seating, easy parking, and good service. I recommend it.

This restaurant has a great view and cozy seating by the fireplace. We ordered steak with the clam chowder as a starter for dinner. The food was okay, but not worth the steakhouse price.

The food was OK, not spectacular, but OK. It wins because it’s part of the hotel we were staying at, and the service was friendly and efficient. Otherwise, it’s nothing inside that stands out, the patio has a view of. a parking lot(and the ocean, but only over the top of a building), and the food was average. The price they charge makes sense as it lines up with being convenient in the hotel, they can charge it directly to the room and the service, again, was friendly and efficient. If I were staying here, I’d eat here. Otherwise, I wouldn’t make the effort to go.

We came here for the first time to give it a try. We were greeted at the desk in the most unfriendly manor. The dining area was 75% empty and when we were asked if we had a reservation and we said no she then showed us a list of people on her clip board who did make a reservation. How about«have you ever been here before? «Welcome we are happy to have you» The food was okay not bad not great. The service was below average. We are now leaving and the dining area is still 75% empty… I don’t think a reservation is necessary unless you want a friendly greeting

Brunch is way overpriced for what they have available. Service is very good but then again there were maybe 8 tables of people. I wouldn’t recommend spending $ 27.95 to eat brunch at this place when you can have a phenomenal brunch at Viva La Pasta or even Claim Jumpers for 10 bucks less.

We have gone several more times since my last review and if it is a nice day you MUST make reservations to get a seat outside. Liz was our waitress the last several times and she kept the champagne flowing. We were lucky that they apparently BBQ in the warm months as the last two times we have had delicious tri-tip, BBQ citrus chicken, ribs and slow cooked beans that were located outside on the patio. Great touch! I do believe the price has increased to about $ 28 per person. The bananas foster was very good.

Alexander’s is a restaurant inside the Four Points Sheraton hotel by the picturesque harbor. It’s got two very different rooms encompassing the place, on opposite sides of the bottom floor of the hotel. One room is gorgeous, views of the harbor and a lovely atmosphere with tables spread out across room and a nice cool temperature on a hot summer day. Unfortunately I wasn’t sat in this room. I was in the room across the way with high ceilings, small view-less windows, and long banquet tables squished together to fit as many people as possible. It was hot and busy on the Father’s Day brunch my family and I came to. In light of the holiday, I made reservations early on in the week. The man on the phone was friendly but did not speak English very well so when I called back to confirm the day before, he ended up making another reservation instead of confirming mine, oops! Making a reservation was a good idea because this place was packed! The front desk people were very friendly and got through the crowds efficiently, allowing incomplete parties to sit and hit the buffet table while waiting for the rest of their family. The brunch itself is delicious and had almost everything you can think of and more available for consuming! Catfish, bagels, muffins, mashed potatoes, omelets, oysters, crab, eggs benedict, tri tip, chicken, waffles, bananas foster, cake, brownies, fruit, fruit tarts! I think I got most of the list there! Can’t forget the bottomless mimosas for those of us over 21 either! That said, this place really is one where you need to be aggressive with what you want. Be prepared to flag down waitresses for refills. I wanted something nonalcoholic to wash down my giant meal too and noticed coffee stations on two sides of the room so I started my search there for some tea. Eventually I made my way over to the other room and it was like I had walked into a breath of fresh air. Less chaos, cool air, and iced tea stations! Why were us in the other room being jilted? Yet paying the same price? I enjoyed the food and the time spent with my family, but the food wasn’t anything extraordinary that couldn’t have been made at home or at any other typical hotel brunch(that is free in some places). I think it would have been a better experience in the fancier room with the view and the air conditioning(which they did eventually turn on in my room once I mentioned it to a host). Not worth the $ 40 in my opinion!

If you like crab legs, and buffets with about every brunch food you could desire, then Alexander’s is the Sunday Brunch place for you. I like to get veggie omlettes and everything off their dessert trays. The servers are very attentive and you never-ending mimosa will be just that. Mother’s Day Brunch was a little chaotic there, but Mother’s Day Brunch is normally rather chaotic anywhere.

A friend invited me to Alexander’s Restaurant, which has been his favorite buffet style restaurant for many years. We had reservations and were seated outside with a beautiful view and nice weather. The service was excellent! They served coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice with champagne(mimosas) if you like. The orange juice was so sweet and fresh that I over indulged lol. This was an incredible buffet! Unlimited crab legs, oysters and clams on the half shell, prime rib prepared different ways, seafood salad, and the list goes on and on! I wasn’t able to eat dessert as I filled up too quickly. However, I did enter the dessert room for a peek and was amazed at all the yummy desserts! I hope we go back soon, since they offer this buffet every Sunday. It’s a real extravaganza! Well worth the journey and getting up early.

The Thanksgiving buffet was superb. The gourmets in our family raved about the seafood, the turkey cooked to perfection and the wide variety of dishes. The vegetarians had many good choices and were satisfied. We had a comfortable table in the dining room and it was OK to not sit by the window. Our waiter was attentive and kept our glasses full of champaign and orange juice. The dessert buffet was fabulous. We will return.

Every once in a while I like to come here for their all-you-can-eat Sunday Brunch Buffet. The first time I came here was several years ago and I feel like the quality of the buffet has gone down since then, but that seems to be like most things with this economy. Alexander’s Sunday brunch buffet includes cheap champagne and/or mimosas, which I did not try but my girlfriend enjoyed well enough. It starts at 10AM and goes until… I think 2PM every Sunday. They have breakfast foods as well as lunch type foods. They have an omelet station where a guy can make you a tasty omelet with whatever you want inside(from the decent selection of choices in front of the station). They have a bananas foster station as well as having seafood(yesterday it included snow crab legs and oysters on the half shell as well as cold shrimp), bacon, sausage, eggs, potatoes, pork, rice medley etc. In the side room they have breads, croissants, bagels, toast, danishes, fruit, cold salads, cubed cheese and desserts. They have a whole large table filled with desserts, which is my favorite part. Varieties of cakes, pies and/or cheesecakes, chocolate dipped strawberries and small 2-bite cakes and pastries are included, but I recommend you get your desserts early unless you’re not picky — I don’t see them restock the desserts through the morning so once something is gone it’s probably gone until next time. Outside on the patio were hot-trays of tri-tip, chicken and pork BBQ as well as beans and corn on the cob. The guy at the omelet station had a big ham and some tri-tip he was slicing for diners as well. I enjoyed my food and the service was reasonable. At some point the staff stopped coming by our table(after we had paid) but we were still eating and talking so I had to flag someone down to get a refill on my soda. After that, they checked in on us frequently, which was nice, but also made us feel like they wanted us to leave. My friend and I ate and gabbed for about three hours, and I wasn’t hungry the entire rest of the day. I was very satisfied and if I was willing to eat without restraint every Sunday I would come here far more often!

AAA recommendation for Alexander’s had 3 diamonds and said there was an ocean view, so we stopped on a trip north. It’s in a Sheraton Hotel. Ground turkey sandwich: Rubbery meat. Microwaved? Tuna sandwich: tasteless tomato; tuna just ok. Kind of dry. French bread old. Clam chowder: Waay too thick and no clams, well, maybe 1 tiny piece No napkins; others had cloth, so we requested some. Waiter grabbed 4 paper napkins from the next table that had just been vacated. «Here.» Service: It took 30 minutes to get the above lunch. Waitress brusque. View: AAA said ocean view. No view. We could see the tops of some sailboat masts. A nice restaurant should never serve unripe melon or bad tomato or bread. Taste what is being served to guests and don’t give them bad, underripe fruit or old bread. Throw it out or have your buyer buy quality product. How hard is that? Very disappointed in both food and staff and would never go back. Someone needs to train the management and the staff to continue to live up to their rating.

Came here for Mother’s Day brunch expected it to be busy, but Management completely overbooked the place and I completely blame the bad experience on that. They didn’t even have enough plates at the beginning of the line people were standing waiting for plates to be brought out at about 10 at a time they disappeared immediately and people had to stand and wait again. The food was bland, they kept reusing the omelette pan and the bananas foster pans it left a burnt flavor on every thing. The oysters all had chunks if shells in them. My table wasn’t the only one that felt this way all the tables around me were having waiters pick up full plates of food and send it back. A few items were ok but over all I felt I just wasted $ 40.

I came here for a rehearsal dinner starting at 6pm. What time did we leave? 10pm. And not because we were partying… that is how long the service took from start to finish. We didn’t even receive our food until an hour and a half into sitting down! And the bread came after our entrees! This is unacceptable to me, especially since we were the only party in the restaurant. The food was not bad, but not good enough for me or anyone else in the party to come back.

It was after 8 pm when we met friends who were staying at the hotel. After ogling the massive gingerbread house in the lobby, we checked out Alexander’s menu and were happy to hear they stayed open until 10 pm. There was only one other couple there on a Sunday evening. The staff was amazingly accommodating and attentive, and didn’t try to rush us. The deck and indoor tables would have a great view of the harbor in daylight, but the rest of the décor is basic Sheraton Hotel restaurant. The chicken nachos were real cheesy goodness. What is a standout is the lamb chops. My crusted tilapia was well prepared, but the salads were standard lettuce/carrot. The servers split two of the meals on to separate plates-good thing because the fettuccine was a giant portion-more than two people could eat. We had a good bottle of Buena Vista Pinot Noir off their small but reasonably priced wine list, and several beer choices as well. Overall, a pleasant dining experience, and I will return to enjoy the harbor view during the day.
