Still bringing my big newf (170 pds) here. Gosh, I luv these people. Anytime I call, anything I ask, the answer is always ‘no problem.’ As its been basically hot for the last 2 yrs, instead of a sanitary trim, we now get him completely shaved along with a bath. The dog is light and free and SOOO much happier, and it make us happy to see him so happy. Plus, we have fun with it and give him either a Mohawk or a Furby, and people think he is the cutest, which he is :) Anyway, guess how much? $ 85 And I just called and asked how much to brush his teeth as well as everything else that is usually done i.e. bath, shave, nails trimmed, ears cleaned, and the guy said … no problem, we’ll take care of it no charge. Gosh, I luv these people: D

Aaron is friendly and careful with my dog whenever I bring him in. Very reasonably priced.

My 18 yr old cat went in for a flea treatment/​bath and came out with soft, clean fur and completely flea free. She is a very happy cat. I was very impressed with the friendly service and quality of work. Thank you. Will definitely be back

The guy that runs this place was nice enough, but when I picked up my Shih-​Tzu, he looked semi-​groomed. Kind of how he looks if I try to do it myself. When I got him home, I picked a dozen fleas off of him but hey, the price was right. From my experience, if the shampoo stays on for at least 3 minutes, it kills the fleas. Now I understand why he was done so quickly. Sorry to rag on a small, local business but next time I’ll go elsewhere.

I brought my Siberian Husky Zeba in for a grooming. I decided to watch as I was worried that Zeba may be too much for them to handle. As I watched I noticed how well they held their composure as Zeba howled and tried at every moment to get away. It took 2 to 3 hours to get my Zeba all prettied up witch was fine as she was in her blow-​out stage and during that time I watched Aaron do about 5 other dogs mabie more. Each dog had his/​her own personality good and bad and Aaron took it all with a smile on his face. I’m sry but I don’t believe Aaron has a mean bone in his body and I refuse to believe any of the bad reviews regarding any abuse or mistreating of animals. To all those yups that think they know more about dog grooming than the people that do it daily, go to the do-​it-​yourself places and see just how difficult it is to groom a dog and you will be happy for a small area cause once they get free it’s over, you really want to chase a wet dog or cat in a large area LMAO be my guest. I would recommend any1 to take their dog here, the staff are great, loving and professional. I called today to see if I could get my Zeba in but they were booked. If they are that busy they must be doing something right 3 people can’t be wrong and 1 be right… it just doesn’t work that way. Thank you Applause for paws for making my Zeba so beautiful I’ll gladly wait for an opening :)

I love this place. I take my 2 Persian cats here, and they always do a great job, and the prices are GREAT compared to what Petco or Petsmart charges. They are half the price of those stores, and do twice a better job. I’ve been coming here for years and would not go anywhere else. Aaron and his mom take such good care of my kitties.

This place is great !
Our dog was getting quite stinky and luckily they had time to squeeze her in without an appointment. The people were very nice and accommodating to our shy pup.
They did a fabulous job and Daisy came back looking shiny and smelling great. We mentioned her sensitive skin and they took extra care with her. she is no longer itchy!
They even showed us a cute picture of her during her bath time:)
Lastly the price was awesome! A full bath –deep clean– sedative skin condition– brushing– teeth clean — anal gland expression — toe nails and more was only 35 bucks and was completed in just over an hour!
These people are awesome (daisy agrees) and we will definitely be back!

I took my cat to Applause for Paws a few days ago, to get her claws trimmed, and will never go back. I had been a few times before, and had a man (Aaron?) do the trimming, and never had a problem. This time, his mother (the owner?) did the work, and while she was working on my cat, I witnessed a cute, shaggy little dog having his ears worked on by a very scary woman. He was crying and whimpering, obviously in a LOT of pain, and trying to bite her (good for the dog!) to get her to stop what she was doing. The more the dog cried, the more she shook him, and yelled at him to «relax!» She was incredibly rough with this little dog, and despite his crying, kept digging inside his ears, cutting out tufts of hair, and yelling at him. I normally go to Aloha groomers for my dog, and know this is not how a groomer works with animals! I was watching this in complete shock, and noting that none of the other groomers were taking any notice of her. None of them were even the least bit bothered that I, a customer, was witnessing this! When I couldn’t take it anymore, I finally said, «Excuse me, but she’s hurting that dog!» With that, the owner told her to «go work on someone else», so the scary lady moved onto another table. It was very strange, and to make matters even worse, the owner handed over my cat to me, telling me there was no charge, because one of my cat’s claws was bleeding! I asked her if there was a chance of infection from the cut, and she said, «Oh, no, she’ll be fine!»
Yikes. This was a very scary and strange place. The second I got back to my car, I called the Humane Society, and filed a report. Do not take your animals here! I don’t think I’ll ever get out of my head, the fear and pain in that dog’s eyes, and their complete lack of concern over his cries of pain.

I wrote a previous review about this place and gave it only two stars. I thought there was an option on the iPad Unilocal app to allow me to update my previous review but I guess not. Anyway, I originally gave this place two stars due to the initial vibe of the place (hair all over the place, stunk of cigarette, etc) _​yes, it scared me and as a result, I didn’t let the groomers really do any real cutting to my dog — just a hygiene bath and everything else. I’m really excited that my boyfriend bought me another groupon deal for this place, which allowed me to take my dog back here for the 2^nd time — my dog really needed a haircut and what did I have to lose? oh boy was I excited I took him back here. Not only did my dog look super cute, but he was all jumpy and happy. I will def be returning to this place. Thanks applause for paws! Remind me not to judge a book by its cover.

It’s still a dog (and cat) grooming place, only now it’s located in new, but much smaller space at 1058 S. Seaward.*
Funny enough, my cats seem more comfortable with Aaron giving them a mani/​pedi than they are with me getting them into the cat carrier. Go figure.

I’ve brought my beautiful Maine Coon into Applause Four Paws on 3 occasions for a #4 lion cut. If gets rid of a LOT of length and makes self-​grooming much less work for her.
I stay in the shop with her while she gets her trim and I’ve always been happy with the way she is handled and cared for. The groomer (female — maybe the owner?) is kind and gentle to my little fur ball, even though she is extremely skittish around strangers and other animals.
I have been very satisfied with the quality of their cuts and service though I finally purchased a set of clippers and do her cuts myself at home. It doesn’t look nearly as good but it’s just less stress on my scaredy-​cat.
I still highly recommend Applause Four Paws for long haired cats and would use them again!

I took my Maltese in here and they gave him what I can only describe as a poodle cut. They basically shaved him and left the ears really floppy. He looks ridiculous.
They claimed that it was because he was badly matted, which he was, but my normal groomer has turned out a good looking dog under similar circumstances.
I will not return to this business.

I have mixed reviews on this place. We used to take our dog (Siberian Husky) here and they did a pretty good job on her, once even finding a huge tick and removing it. Their groomers seem kind and patient.
We were pleased enough to even bring our two cats. When we came to pick them up, they informed us that Cat #1 was a real doll, they loved her, and would take her anytime. Cat #2 was a devil, and we were NOT, under any circumstances, allowed to bring him back. They charged us full price for both, which I thought was a bit crazy considering that Cat #2 had about ¼ of his body trimmed and the rest still in place. In fact, a week later, he looked as if he had never been groomed at all. I guess I paid for their trouble, but it just put me in an awkward situation, and i didn’t appreciate paying full price for a job that wasn’t even halfway done.
Moral of the story here, don’t bring an angry cat in, because you will pay to be told he is terrible.

We have been using this groomer’s shop for years. They are so patient and careful. They ALWAYS do a spectacular job and are very kind as well:-)

Applause Four Paws is a top notch grooming salon. I live in Thousand Oaks, however I bring my 13-​year-​old Huskey/​Malamute here as opposed to getting him groomed up here. I like the no frills attitude and the extra attention they give your «best friends». My doggy has tons of hair which is difficult to keep groomed, but he leaves there looking beautiful!!! Emily has been in the business for years and she treats every pet as if they were her own. This is a great place… try it and see for yourself!!!

One of the great things about Applause four paws… is they groom cats, and do a pretty good job of it. Their prices are a bit steep, but you feel that the service is of good quality.
