My experience with AATBS went beyond all expectations. I passed the MFT Standard and Vignette exams on my first try, as a direct result of the prep material and practice tests provided by AATBS. Were there a lot of hours involved? Yes, but only because I was intent on learning and understanding the critical legal, ethical, and clinical responsibilities of my profession. AATBS aren’t about tricks or games; they’re about enhancing what you’ve learned in supervision as an intern and getting you ready for licensure. Everything I learned was essential, and was included in some way on the exams. Several of the questions actually turned up on the exam, verbatim. The exams were grueling, but I felt more comfortable as I progressed through them and confident that I would pass.
Even though they were helpful, I would skip the flashcards and DSM 5 powerpoint; not much worth paying extra for. What was essential and worth paying extra for were the workshops with Kathy Wexler. She presented the material in such a clear and simple way, provided great insight into the exam process, and gave me lots of confidence as I approached the exam dates. Those are a must, IMO.

I am giving them two stars based on the fact that I passed my first MFT test last week.
They throw everything at you. Books, note cards, testing banks, etc. I studied for close to three months. Multiple hours per day in the last month.
The practice tests are brutal and the rationales don’t make sense. I brought 10 questions to my supervisor and two other clinicians I work with and the best score out of the ten was two correct and not based on the rational given.
The actual test was fairly tough and the practice tests weren’t all that similar. After 3 months of studying and 4 practice tests I was able to get a 70% on the practice test.
I bought TDC for the second test. Their program is a total of 26 hours. I’m about an hour in and already am much more satisfied with their study prep than AATBS.

I used AATBS for my test and even though I passed the test my experience with them and money spent was ridiculous. They were not accommodating on the phone when I called them to refund me on a workshop I could not attend due to where they held the class. They never offered an online workshop and were not helpful on the phone. I would think that after paying almost $ 1000 for their Platinum package and multiple $ 25 extensions in addition to their $ 95 extensions for the second portion they would have refunded me even part of my payment to the workshop. I will only compliment their counselors. Their manager has no understanding in regards to customer service. I will no longer refer to this agency but suggest that you consider «The Therapist Development Center» if you do not wish to go bankrupt. AATBS is definitely in the business of making money. The second part of the test was not accurate according to the questions on the test. Good luck in passing with another program.

So very disappointed with AATBS. After I paid the money for the testprep materials, I wanted to go on line and confirm that I was getting what I had paid for, and basically get an understanding of the differences between CA BBS MFT TESTPREP and TESTPRO. I mean, who would really know what this mean unless you work for AATBS, right? So I get on line, the clock starts and my three months is over before I know it. I call AATBS and state that I have only taken one exam but the time has run out due to me not being able to start my study process.
I, of course called customer service and explained to them how I hadn’t even started studying yet. The customer service lady was having none of it. She sated that I would need to pay 65 $ more for one more month. I found this to be outrageous, and asked to talk to her supervisor. The supervisor had no mercy either.
I will never recommend them. The three months they give you is not enough, and they are heartless. And if I’m going to pay somebody 500 bucks, I’d like to at least know that they have an understanding of fairness.

I took the AATBS package for the MFT CA Standard written exam. I passed. The things I like about it is that these are people who keep things simple for learning. It doesn’t give you extra stuff to worry about like other programs. It keeps learning to a minimal and the test bank had really great rationales for answers. They also provide phone consultations which were helpful. the workshop was only a one-​day workshop– it was short quick and extremely effective. Keeping it simple but effective with a money back guarantee really helped so much. They also provided a desensitization CD to help get over the exam taking anxiety. I highly recommend them!

I signed up for the Case Master Pro for LCSW (exam 2). For the first test I used Gerry Grossman Seminars and had a good experience. I passed the first time taking the test. I figured I’d go with AATBS this time around to try something different and because there was a discount code being offered. I regret my decision mainly because they only allow you to use the testbank for a limited amount of time like 3 months. If you need more time, then you have to pay more for an additional month or two months at a time. I have paid twice more to extend it and still it’s not enough time. I get really busy at work and unfortunately cannot study every day. If they offered it for at least 6 months to a year then I could study whenever I have free time. I feel pressured more so to use the testbank than to take the test so I don’t waste more money! I recommend that people go to Gerry Grossman just for the reason that you get the testbank for a full year or until you pass the test. AATBS seems like want to rip off already poor social workers. On a positive note, the customer service people sound nice and the test questions are challenging and make you think differently. I wonder if the actual test is as hard as the testbank. We’ll see.

Now that you have been out of graduate school and have been working for 3yrs, you must be looking for excellent study material to pass that Social Work exam for your license…
