Real authentic flavor! Prices are reasonable and staff is friendly! Burritos are big and tacos are bigger than taco street!

I have driven by this restaurant for years and finally stopped in after reading some of the Unilocal reviews. The table service was pleasant and ithe nterior is light and clean. The bar is high for my favorite classic cheese enchilada, and mine here was good but not great.(See my Unilocal top 10 cheese enchilada list). The chile relleno was quite good and arrived on a hot plate. We asked for spicier salsa, and we got a tasty 3 star, which was better than the two star, but I am a 5 star chile pepper kind of gal. The refried beans were nicely prepared, but there are no whole beans available. A good solid Mexican restaurant with standard dinner type prices.

Waitress is super hott. Service is really good. I’m here on a Sunday. Eating huevos rancheros. They are really good. Salsa is also really good and they keep loading You up with more and more chips until you get your food. Highly recommend this spot and the one across the street.

Very, very small venue. I think there were only 10 tables? 15 max. Service was good, the girl was friendly. The food however is incredibly white washed. I ordered an asada burrito and it literally came with meat and cheese. They ask if you’d like pico but I’m not a fan so I passed. The plate came with beans and rice for $ 9.99 and the burrito was the size of something I’d expect from Taco Bell. The asada actually tasted like a slim jim, you know«snap into a slim jim!!!» So that was a flop. The rice was over cooked and kind of hard the beans were ok. Pretty much flavorless paste with cheese on top. I expected more from this place with all the reviews. But they’re nothing SPECTACULAR unless you want white washed Mexican food then I’m sure they’re grand. Service was good and the food came out quickly and it was less than $ 10 a person so it was worth 3 stars.

I have been coming here since I was a very little girl and I have yet to be underwhelmed. I have always lived on the east end of town and the family owned business always recognizes my family and catches up. Everything is huge and fresh and authentic. I recommended the chili verde and a horchata!

I tried the chicken and beef tamales today being that it’s a Mexican place I’d thought they be delicious but they were the worst tamales I ever tasted!!! I wouldn’t call them tamales!!! They literally sucked!!!

I was excited to try this place, divey-check, good reviews-check but have to say that all in all I was disappointed. The service was fantastic, very welcoming feeling, very home towny but the food was sub par. We are in California, mexican food should be better, salty, spicy, cheesy and yummy! This was all unsalted mediocre food, from the verde to the burritos I feel like it needed some help.

Damn this place it’s amazing the food melts in your mouth. It’s very clean and the waitress it’s very nice and fast with the service she defiantly on her A+ game. I totally recommend it. I’m down to do 1 ½ the drive.

A pleasant place to have a meal with a friend, good food great prices. The staff is wonderful, great mexican dishes, my favorites are enchiladas and Chile rellenos! If you want a good mexican meal this is a great place to go.

Casa Del Rio is what I consider Mexican«comfort» food, cheesy enchiladas with a flavorful sauce, baked just right, rice that’s fluffy and refried beans which I can take or leave, were eaten all up upon my first visit. The chips are fresh, salsa is flavorful but not hot to the mouth at all. Ground beef taco was the bomb, and that’s says a lot because the only other place I like the ground beef tacos at is Casa De Lago in Oak View. I believe Casa Del Rio was once owned by the family that runs the above mentioned restaurant, as the décor is very similar. The prices are very reasonable, $ 9.75 for a three plate combo, pretty impressive. While the location is rather tricky to maneuver, you should not hesitate to try what I consider a homey like setting once you are inside. Those tacos are calling my name, I’ll be back soon.

This is a true side-of-the-highway-diner…Mexican style! its small, its divey, no street parking, its on a highway… its a game of frogger to get around the pot holes in the driveway but the reward for those who make the trek is like those who climbed Everest… well, its kinda like that but not as cold, and we didn’t need a Sherpa or any oxygen tanks either :) There are only 10 or so tables and when we were there one waitress and one cook. We live close by here now and drive by all the time, looked them up here on olé Unilocal and saw the reviews were very favorable. We all got different stuff I had a pair of chicken enchiladas the chicken was tender and shredded not chopped the chips and salsa are a hit on my list i could come here and drink coronas and eat chips and salsa and be quite content. Elizabeth had a combo of Chicken taco, Cheese enchilada and a chili relleno with rice and beans and asada wet burrito neither of them were able to finish. big portions. service was slow/good and by that I mean you roll in at 100MPH and they slow ya down a bit, more of a relaxed atmosphere but not lacking in service, the waitress was on point ad had a smile every time she came over. Oh! and did I mention less than $ 10 bucks a plate I’m definitely going back.

This place is great. I come here all the time for lunch and the best thing on the menu is the Chili Verde Burrito. They are consistent and locals congregate here which is always a good sign. Areas for improvement, they have the world’s heaviest front door and treacherous driveway with potholes the size of small VW bugs.

Food was good. Meat was tender on the chile verde burrito. The service was excellent. Fast, attentive and courteous. Wish they had the Mexican coke but other than that– good experience. Small seating and some outdoor seating. Would come back and try some other food. The other people I was with enjoyed their food– tacos, burritos, dinner, etc.
