I’d never return. My family and I were treated poorly. My visit on Saturday May 23, 2015 at around 12:45 went like this: I’d heard about it from my mother; and being cat people and rescue supporters, we were glad to drop by. I walked in with my wife and 4 year old daughter. While my wife and daughter lingered near the front I began to walk the other rooms. I happened upon an employee talking to a customer in their ‘kitchen’ room and immediately received a scowl. Did I do something? My hands were empty. I was just looking around. I didn’t interrupt anyone. I made it back around to the front and the ladies behind the counter looked downright angry. Im still not sure why, but my presence obviously made them unhappy and my proximity seemed to only make them angrier. Only once did anyone show anything but a scowl(in the ‘kids’ room where a blonde woman really showcased her smile). By the time we gathered our things and headed for the register; a dark haired woman in her 50’s and white haired woman in her sixties or older were waiting for us deliberately avoiding eye contact. The dark haired woman totaled everything up(without saying a word) while I asked«How is YOUR day today?» «Ok» she says again avoiding eye contact and looking angrier still. I thought it might break the tension they seemed to be creating on purpose. My wife overheard what I said and says to me «Oh, you noticed all the scowling to?» Obviously I had, but even then the woman refused eye contact and wouldn’t say a word. The white haired woman sat behind her still scowling. The only words they ever said to us were our total, and the«ok» I mentioned earlier. Later on I find out my wife had been subject to the scowling observation as well. Are these unwelcoming attitudes and childish scowling the way you expect to get the volunteers your signs keep asking for? Do you expect it to get you repeat customers? If the very base of this operation is a selfless endeavor like caring for cats and finding them homes, how can you mistreat the people helping you even during the very moment while we are literally handing you cash to do so? The women I encountered here were flagrantly bitter, unwelcoming, childish, prejudiced old hags and my family didn’t deserve their poor attitude.

Wide selection, pretty clean, well organized, friendly staff, decent prices, not too busy. Limited hours and mothball smell. I’d recommend shopping here.

What a find! This shop does good things with its money rather than raking it off of the top and giving it to their CEOs. Is it a very nice place and just keeps going and going and going. So don’t stop with just the front room. Continue on in and go into every room. There are wonderful things — good clothes, shoes, kitchen things, books galore, just goes on and on. Don’t miss this one.

I don’t know why they took down all the previous reviews just because they changed locations. They had about 7 to 8 all five star reviews. The thrift store here is one of the best in Ventura the prices are great and they have a huge selection of all kinds of stuff. Keep in mind everything you buy or donate all goes to helping rescue cats at a no kill shelter check this place out if you never been.
