Perfect pairing with beer! My girl and I ordered the asada fries, and 3 tacos(chicken, carnitas, and asada). The chicken was okay, but nothing compared to the flavor punch the pork and steak brought. The asada fries were good as well. Big steak fries covered in asada, beans, cheese, cilantro and onions. The staff is great and will deliver the food to your table! 5 stars for flavor, friendliness, and convenience

I rarely review but this truck is awesome and after seeing someone bash them below, I want to give a shoutout. They DO give receipts. I’ve never not gotten one. And the foods are made to order so yes, you’ll wait 7 – 10 minutes if they are busy. This isn’t chipotle where the food is just sitting out. Respect them for what they are– a bomb food truck. I usually go for lunch so they probably just get low on stuff at night My favorite? Asada Burrito. YUM and SO much meat

Best tacos ever!!! I actually went the event at the college and was highly satisfied :) the tacos were made with handmade tortillas and the prices were awesome. Took a while but it was well worth it. If anyone know anything about cooking it takes time to produce fresh pressed corn tortillas. Overall, these guys are doing a great job and will ultimately refer family and friends.

save your money and walk away! After seeing the talk about how great it was on Unilocal.I thought I would try it. they came to my colleges fair. i wasn’t impressed but more like disappointed. they need more crew members and help. waited. 20 mins for two tacos and a sope and they ran out of asada too. they don’t give you receipts either and you have to bother to ask them for utensils. definitely wish I would of just went to my usual taco place … step your game so you don’t disappoint your future customers even more. I wouldn’t come back again.

Friday and I can’t wait to get to surf brewery for a beer and fresh mexican food from Escabeche Bistro truck. Has always been best mexican food around. We order the usual and wow it’s completely different and certainly not good. Salsa seemed ancient the chili relleno is not fresh, different cheese and not edible. Shrimp tacos are barely the same flavor. What happened? I’m writing this hoping they will see and get things back on track. Here’s hoping.

Went to Surf Brewery to and they had Escabeche food truck there too. I don’t think Escabeche was ready for such a crowd. We saw someone with what looked like killer nachos so we ordered some with carne asada. It took over an hour to get the nachos and they didn’t have much meat on them. After they gave us our nachos the guy walked over to the table next to us and told them they were out of carne asada which explains why we did’t have much on our nachos. I wish they would have told us that they ran out too. I will try this place again.

So so so so good. The homemade tortillas are amazing. You could put anything on them and they’d be amazing, but the stuff they put on them is so good making it extra fantastic. The shrimp and fish tacos were my favorite. Every piece of the taco was perfect from the level of breadedness and taste of the fish, to the cremita, and even the cabbage/lettuce garnish was great. And of course, the tortilla was incredible. It’s a drive for us to make it out here from Studio City, but it’s well worth it.

Flavorful food. But salty, salty, salty! I had a steak quesadilla at Surf Brewing. It was tasty — tangy salsa verde, tender flank steak and tons of cheese. And I like salty foods but this was so salty I could only take a few bites. Luckily, I had plenty of beer from the brewery to wash it down!

What a treat, when I went to Surf Brewery this food truck was parked out front. I tried the fish taco, shrimp taco, and chile relleno. Damn, was I impressed?! I want to go back today, I want to take everyone I know back. The flavors that come out of this truck will have you talking about it to everyone you know. Pairs well with the beers at Surf. Very reasonable prices. All ingredients are fresh and food isn’t made until you order it.

My roommate and I went to the Surf Brewery on both Friday and Saturday night! Both nights, as we were drinking amazing, hoppy deliciousness, we were devouring equally amazing, porky goodness in the form of Al Pastor tacos, an Al Pastor sope and an Al Pastor gordita! I’ve had really good Al Pastor before(I’m from the valley, I know good Mexican food), but what sets these geniuses apart from the rest of them is their tortillas! Holy hell… I’ve never had anything better! You can tell they take great care and pay special attention to detail when it comes to their tortillas! It’s like a good sandwich, it’s all about the bread! Of course, in this case, it’s all about the tortilla! The Surf Brewery is only five minutes from my house and I will be visiting there often, so, with that being said, see you soon Escabeche Bistro!

I truly look forward to this food truck! It’s a little gem in Ventura and comes by every other week close to me, and I make a beeline for it whenever it pulls up. The food is very fresh, flavorful, and let me tell you, the prices are more than fair! $ 2.50 for a steak/chicken/asada taco/sope/gordita is a great deal! $ 1 vanilla filled churro was to die for! I tell everyone to eat there when they drive by! Try it! You won’t regret it! The people are very nice too, I usually use cash but I think they do accept cards. Can’t wait to try their chili relleno and flautas the next time!

This is by far the best Mexican food I have had in ages. The prices are unbeatable and Edgar, the owner, is friendly and personable. We eat here on our weekly visits to Surf Brewery and I can attest that the quality and quantity of the food are always excellent. A warning, though: if you visit Escabeche on a Friday or Saturday at rush time, be prepared to wait a bit for your order. Please be patient and don’t be rude to Edgar. He is working his tail off! It’s a small price to pay for amazing food, no?

I have two favorite Mexican food places to eat in ventura(and really anywhere from the cities I’ve eaten it in) they both tie for first place and this is definitely one of them. The food is always so fresh and just tastes amazing. No matter what you order off of their menu, it’s going to be amazing to your taste buds, eyes, and wallet. Everything I’ve had from Edgar is amazing. From the chili reino, tacos, nachos, pineapple tamales, churros — everything he has to offer is incredible. The prices are great for the items you are receiving and the staff is always super friendly. I’ve had many of my friends and family try Edgar’s food and they are all so impressed by what he has to offer. Definitely love Wednesdays-Sundays a little bit more than other days cause we know we can find him out in front of Surf Brewery. I definitely recommend anyone who loves food that is made with a passion to give this place a try!

Its very authentic Yum! Simply excellent food. Also, customer service is the best, very friendly. Ps. I have yet to try the chocolate tamale… so ill be going back soon! ;)

Seriously? Awful. I asked for their al pastor plate(listed on their menu as al pastor). The«person»(and I use that term loosely) working the truck was like, yea the chili relleno. I quickly corrected him to say no, I wanted the al pastor plate listed on the menu. He kept arguing with me that their chili relleno plate was was their al pastor plate. Ummmm no. It was drowned in sauce, crappy cheese, and chilies. I did not ask for that. My advice is learn to cook what you offer. And surf brewery ditch them for something better.
