Love the burritos and nachos. They have good tacos too. For a nicer fast casual place rubios is the place to go. Beer is cold and cheap, and they have great fast causal food… no arguments there! I absolutely love that they serve vanilla coke. I’ve shared a burrito here before but they aren’t terribly large. There is always parking and the place is always clean. It’s a good value for your dollar and they haven’t had any food poisoning scandals like Chipotle has had recently.

Love the original fish tacos, especial fish taco, tilapia taco and california bowl tilapia. Highly recommended to try them! The food is fresh. The staffs are very friendly! The diablo and jalapeño sauce are spicy and delicious!

I’ve been here a few times, kinda meh about it. Never thought to review because it hasn’t been that moving to me: either way. But tonight I went for dinner and ordered 2 tacos. Single tacos. FIRST: BOTHWERESERVEDCOLD! What is up with that? I ordered the STREET and the CLASSIC. The STREET was better overall if I had to make a choice, but the steak in the CLASSIC was tough to chew and had a lot of fat in it. Not sure if I’ll be back again. I might give them another shot with the STREET tacos, but not the CLASSIC for sure. I wish I would have taken it back to the register, but I was with a friend and we didn’t have the time to do so. I just really don’t like buying cold food!

I have always been a fan of this place. Not only is the food good, the staff at this location has always been friendly. Rubios is a great place as they have many alternatives to the fish tacos they are known for. I don’t care for seafood, but there is chicken and steak which are both good. I’ll usually get a burrito. Their black beans are really good – a bit salty, but that’s how I like them. The sides are all substitutable and I frequently opt for the Spanish rice. Yum! And there are various options at the salsa bar, and make sure to try the jalapeño sauce that they have!

I must say, a very happy and helpful staff, and the cooks made this chain restaurant taste more authentic then I was expecting.

Love this restaurant. The staff is always willing to please and will help you make the meal to your liking. The ingredients are fresh and the food is perfectly cooked. I choose to eat heart-healthy and they are willing to accommodate my every wish. Everyone in my party was thrilled with their meal. Such a joy.

I accidentally spilled my tacos all over my lap. I was embarrassed and just wanted to go home. The manager immediately jumped to my rescue and insisted on making me two new tacos! So grateful!

Trying to eat healthy and lose weight this wek, so what am I doing at a fast food restaurant, and why is the salad $ 6.50? What a pleasant surprise, the calories are posted on the menu, and the fresh, tasty grilled veggie salad is under 350 calories. This place meets all my criteria — outdoor tables near a fountain and surrounded by flowers, in other words quite pretty setting, a salsa bar with Diablo sauce in the back to satisfy my heat craving, and a huge salad full of a variety of fresh greens(no iceberg lettuce in sight). The corn and veggies were nicely grilled and no complimentary chips were served to blow my low calorie resolve. Pleasant service too, and they serve sangria. Maybe next time. Definitely not your typical fast food place.

Horrible, got the fish taco and it was the smallest piece of fish with the biggest lump of oil filled fry. Finding the fish was like looking for a needle in a haystack. I think I squeezed out enough oil for my next oil change. Disgusting

The food is tasty. The service is mostly friendly. They are chinnsey on chips. Hey, you’ve got to have chips with your Mexican food right? Knowing how sparing they are with the chips on their taco plates I ordered a side at .89 cents. Note: Sharkys gives you a medium size basket if chips at no additional cost. Even if you just order a salad. A rubios you get a few chips and only with the plates, nothing with the salads. Any got my bag of chips, the small bag was ½ full with about 8 chips. .89cents really? I went to ask for the bag to be filled the gal said that’s what we give and when I didn’t back down she reluctantly added(with her bare hands mind you) a few more chips and folded the bag closed. I gave her a look that is was not pleased and she said well I can give you your money back I said fine, she gave me a dollar bill back, I think she would have thrown it at me if she could. I get home with my take out open my taco plate box and low and behold not one single chip! Back to Sharkys here I go.

A great Rubio’s restaurant. The staff is so friendly, the food is fresh made to order and fast, and definitely DELICIOUS. I’d recommend anything with shrimp, they cook it perfectly!

I really had a hankering for fish taco’s. So much so I drove almost an hour to get here based on the Unilocal reviews. We got here a little before noon on a Saturday and found a parking spot in front of the Restaurant in a little strip mall with a half dozen other eating establishments. I started with the salsa verde shrimp taco. It was fabulous. My mouth lit up with happiness from the first bite to the last morsel. It has the perfect amount of shrimp to give some shrimp in every bite without it being all shrimp. The creamy chipotle sauce was a perfect compliment to the dish and the slices of avocado rounded out the dish. That taco made it worth the trip. I then had their Fish Taco Especial. I should start by saying I normally do not like Baja style fish taco’s but gave this a try since it is their signature dish. I have to admit it was one of the better Baja style fish taco’s I have had. But it still did not do it for me. I could not even detect the fish in my mouth. I could make out the batter and the other ingredients but not the fish. I hoped it would convert me but alas, I still don’t care much for Baja style fish taco’s. My wife had the blackened Maha Mahi fish taco platter. She said it was wonderful. She had black beans and chips as her sides so I tasted them both. The black beans were, well, black beans. Nothing exceptional but nothing bad. The chips were likewise unremarkable. All the taco sauces were plentiful and we went through a pile of napkins. The wallmart across the street is a little closer than the one in Oxnard and there are a few more dishes I would like to try. And, the fussy eaters who did not come with us today can find things they like in the other establishments that share the same parking lot. Oh, and did I forget? I got change back from a twenty with two of us eating. That is rare these days.

I did not want to go here but was with someone else who REALLY wanted to.(I get tired of Mexican fast food… it all seems to taste the same after a while.) Wow, was I ever surprised! I ordered the roasted veggie balsamic salad with grilled chicken and it was absolutely delicious. Fresh mixed greens, roasted vegetables, grilled corn and fresh, moist grilled chicken. It did not feel at all like fast food. Will eat here again… I only wish they had more locations.

This is my favorite place for Taco Tuesdays! Cheap and fast. $ 1.50 for delicious fish tacos, yes please! I actually get pretty stuffed after 2 tacos, a nice $ 3 meal. The sauce that comes with it isn’t as spicy as I would like it to be but the self-serve salsa bar definitely makes up for it. The picante sauce is a must for us, we like it hot. I also really like the chipotle sauce too, it gives a earthy, smokey flavor that just doesn’t come with regular hot sauce. I have to get extra cilantro and onions. I like the crunch and the leftover makes for a healthy omelet the next morning. The chipotle salsa is also really good on some grilled salmon. The interior has this beach shack vibe going on, not bad. Its pretty clean whenever we walk in. The cashiers are pretty nice and walk our to go order of tacos over to us when they’re ready. I wouldn’t really consider coming here any other time. It can get a little pricey for less than sit down quality Mexican food. Yeah it kills my cardio workout after I hit up the LA Fitness in the same complex, but. I MUSTHAVEMYTACOS! Enjoy!

The people that work here are very nice. The food is pretty good… When you finally get it. Whether there is 1 person in front of me or 5 people, I’m always waiting at least 20 mins. Hire more cooks!

My friend and I stopped by for a pre-dinner snack and ended up ordering a full plate of food. I ordered the original fish tacos, that came with two tacos, beans and chips. My friend ordered the taco especial with the same sides. What we didn’t know was that the dish came with the sides. Regardless, we ate pretty much the whole thing. We were both shocked to see how big the fish was in each taco. The restaurant itself was pretty clean and not too busy for a Thursday night. The best part of Rubios is the salsa bar. The only downside is the amount of time it takes to get the food… but that could be a good thing right? Anywho, I’ll definitely be coming back!

I am always in for a treat when I come to Rubio’s, nice, clean and welcoming atmosphere. Hardly ever a line. I order & food comes soon after. It’s always hot and delicious. I sometimes try new things. But I am invested in the chicken Taquitos! w/rice. I get the kids meal, since I get filled up easy. It’s always just right, not too much food, not too little. Their sour cream & Avocados are THEBESTEVER! So fresh & tasty! They now have Stevia sweetener which is great for the people who do not want the chemicals. The servers are always in a good mood & there to help! I even filled out a card to get their emails. I get free meals on my Birthday and free things every now & then! It’s great! Free things are always great! Salsa is so yummy too. They have lemons and limes to squirt on your food. Nice happy lunch.

What a disappointment! I don’t even know where to start. The salsa bar, horrible! The salsa is just flavored ketchup. The chips were all stale, their beans taste like straight out of a can. The guacamole tasted like there were no avocados In it at all. And the fish tacos! Ughh. An over breaded piece of cheap commercial fish soaked with some white sauce and some of their ketchup salsa. What happened to this place??? I used to like eating here, but I can assure you this is the last time I will be coming here. And a tip to the manager, please supervise your staff, any decent restaurant manager would be appalled at the things I saw here today. Sorry Rubios you lost another customer today.

Loved the selection at the salsa bar but my blackened ono burrito was far too salty, to the point of almost being inedible. They do have a large menu for a fast food place with many healthy options.

Not bad for a strip center taco place. I order up the Fish taco especial(comes with guac), hit the nice sala bar(loved chipotle and picante) and took my place on the patio. the view of the parking lot is nice but the food is better. Quick and easy the tacos were hot and filling. I opted for the black bean rather than re-fried and feel I made the right choice. Give is a shot next time you’re in the neighborhood. There are better fish tacos served out of a shack or even a truck but Rubio’s offers A/C.
