Under new management and ownership. I stopped by because I was in the area and wanted to try it out. Ordered the shrimp tempura… It was awesome! I’ll be coming back to try the rest of the menu.

This place is near my work so I decided to try it after I saw a grand opening sign outside. Plus I had read some reviews and most were positive. All they have to offer now is sushi not even a teriyaki chicken or something that normal sushi places offer. Place was clean and staff was friendly. I order simple items a California roll and a crunch roll. In my opinion if you can’t even get a simple California roll right that’s a problem. Crunch roll was good. But will I go there again? probably not unless I’m in desperate need of sushi and I’m in the area.

What happened to this place??? Went here tonight and found out new owner took over. All my food was cold and eggs rolls were mushy. I threw it all away because I was afraid I would get sick if I ate it. What happened to Jasmine? She was great and the food was excellent. Not coming back here again. Also the fish tank was so full of green moldy water that you could not see the fish. So gross. Poor fish.

Great food, new owner make new flavor which is different other restaurant. Like orange chicken, pork steak with blank pepper, sea food with veg, etc. I like it.

Got the Orange Chicken Bowl and the chicken was awesome! Not overpowering and not putrid like the Orange Chicken from a chain store. It was great! It came with rice or chow mein and I went with that, safer option. Turns out chow mein is code for spaghetti… Undercooked spaghetti. Still good though!

Visiting Ventura and came here based upon reviews. Came away disappointed. Portions were very generous but food still had bones and did not look very fresh. Staff was polite but would not come back

I don’t see what the big deal is about this place. The food was mediocre at best. The best part was the polite staff.

First time here. Food is delicious and good prices. Wanted bbq pork and she made it fresh for me. They also got fresh sushi. And I got a free drink with purchase of a combo 1 pm– 4pm and after 4 pm you gotta purchase $ 16 or more. Very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back again and bring people with me! :)

Love the sushi here and the fresh vegetables. The woman at the counter is very friendly. Her husband is the cook and is usually in the back cooking up the great food that is served there. I see him when he comes out to make my fresh sushi.

The nicest Chinese food we can get closest to home. The service is great; the lady at the counter is very nice and seems to recognize my family as regular customers. The portions are generous, even when you purchase a one-item, you’re not short-changed, as the tray is filled(two and three items are pretty stuffed). The only thing preventing a 5-star rating is that certain items have been stale at random times, like once the Kung-pao, once the black pepper chicken(which is usually very good), and once the noodles had a strange aftertaste(which I easily fixed with some extra hot sauce). I think that this has happened less than 10% of our visits though, and my family goes here fairly frequently. Oh, and if you can’t finish the portion, the food holds up well when microwaved, so don’t throw it away!

Finally have the Unilocal app, so I can leave this review! I’m so appreciative of Tasty Panda. Our first time here really impressed us. The woman behind the counter was really warm and friendly, and she made sure to tell us what was fresh. Six bucks and some change for a two item combo, which includes fried rice, chow mien, and 2 entrees. If you come in before 4pm, each combo comes with a free drink, too! On a subsequent visit, she let us know the entrée we ordered wasn’t fresh, when there was still quite a bit left. She was happy to offer to make a new batch, right away for us. Customer service and honesty like this by itself would be worthy of a repeat visit. The food though! Very very good. And generously portioned, too! Unless you eat a LOT of food, you will go home with leftovers to enjoy later. Our favorites are the Orange chicken, the black pepper chicken, and the beef with broccoli. To the owners: thank you so much! We love your hospitality and convenience and would recommend everyone give Tasty Panda a try!

From the dirty floors, sticky tables and to the horrible restrooms, this place is a sad excuse for a «Chinese Restaurant». The customer service however is good and meaningful. They offer various of specials and deals. Yet even if they have fresh food displayed, they will give you old food, thusly the idea of fresh food rotated is thrown out the window. The fried rice on both occurrences was dry and nasty. The white rice and beef and broccoli was very watery. Their noodles had a bad aftertaste with the feeling of a thick, greasy sludge that stuck them all together like an adhesive. Overall it was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Though they give you a lot of food, its almost certain most of the food will end up in the garbage. Poor food and atmosphere, but good service.

I am Chinese. So I am picky about how Chinese food taste here. Most Chinese food in America has too many sauce, either too salty or too sweet. By far tasty panda is the closest I can get as good tasty Chinese food in Ventura. And thank to the warm friendly lady at front, Jasmine. Sometimes, she will suggest I wait a few minutes to receive the fresh cooked food from the Kitchen. And no MSG.

The Dirty Truth: I stopped by here after a meeting with a client in Saticoy and the atmosphere rang true with most Chinese restaurant steam tray type places I’ve been to, but one thing did stand out. I wished I knew her name, but the lady who helped me out was sooo nice and very helpful. She staked my Orange Chicken bowl and white rice to above the rim and I got more than I thought I would. The food was great too. I initially declined anything to drink, but went back to get a cup and she gave me the smaller cup or only a dollar and told me to get as many refills as I wanted, very nice. The only downside, and the reason I got the pop in the first place, was that I was sweating bullets from the heat in there. I saw a floor fan in the distance and I almost had to go get it, but I abstained, haha. If they got ceiling fans, I would give it four stars :) The Stats: Ambiance: Kinda ill-kept and really hot, no air conditioning. Food: Delicious! Service: Great and fast! Cost: Affordable!

Since moving to the area I have found Tasty Panda to be the undeniably awesome go to spot for its steam table and the killer sushi. The sweet young couple working there give it such a pleasant mom n pop environment, They have fun specials like free drinks when you spend X amount during lunch hours, I’m often gifted 2 egg roles with my dinner purchase just for the heck of it. The sushi is surprisingly AMAZING, fresh and hand made to order in front of you, my personal favorite is a treat consisting of a California sushi roll(~$ 5), one steam table side for only 2.99(usually black pepper chicken) and one pork bun for 1.50. Its a food frenzy for under ~$ 10 She will also make entrees to order if it isn’t features that day. No request is too difficult. I’m so pleased with the service at tasty panda that I tip $ 2 – 5 every visit just out of satisfaction.(I would never tip at a panda express or similar establishment in the past) but tasty panda does more to deserve it Keep in mind that the restaurant is slower towards closing with fewer items but that is made up for by the awesome owners who give you extra or more of what is available for the same price. Its their priority to make you happy and you feel happy leaving, trust me. Personally I wish that the wasabi that came with the sushi was hotter, it seems to be on the creamier side which is nice for the average customer, maybe im too hardcore haha

Always fresh and delicious. Such great service at this venue — the owners, I’m assuming, are always so sweet and take care with all orders. They give generous portions for the price paid and it’s one of the best little spots in west Ventura. Gotta love the walking distance from the apartments and the variety of plates they have.
