If you are in the market to refurbish a ring and to discuss potential options, this is NOT the place to go. We are locals and have had positive experiences in the past here but their customer service has gone WAY down hill. The store was empty but yet we were treated as if we were an inconvenience. She did not ask for our opinions only told us what she would do and what she thought wouldn’t look good (focusing on the negative).Did not ask our opinions once– mind you we are refurbishing a ring with sentimental value. She started to quote us on her thoughts on a miniature post-​it note, kept dropping the ring on the floor and was quoting random numbers from her head asking us what she had previously said. Long story short we left and took our business next door to Fox Jewelry– where we received above and beyond customer service. They were personable and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. Highly recommend Fox Jewelry.
I do not recommend coming here if you are looking for customer service and a positive atmosphere.

Van Gundys saved my engagement ring… wait…no…they made it even more amazing than it originally was!
I had an accident at work and my engagement ring got badly damaged. I had moved out of the Ventura area and had a local jeweler repair my ring… just to have it fall apart minutes after picking it up. .
I was recommended by my aunt to go to Van Grundy. I met with Megan and I was nearly in tears about my ring. She assured me they could fix it and make it even stronger than it was before. I opted to switch out my center diamond with a ruby I had from another ring. This gave my fiancé and I the chance to build the ring we dreamed of.
I put my trust in Megan and the Van Gundy crew and I could not be happier with the results!
Thank you so so much Megan and crew. You have made this girl very very happy! I will make the 3 hour drive to you guys for all my jewelry needs.

My current situation is as follows: my band is being overnight-​ed and will be here first thing tomorrow morning. My engagement ring was given back to me this weekend, but we received a call from Tom this morning, and Verragio has requested to have my center stone, so they can craft an entire new ring better suited to fitting the stone (gratis or at the cost of the jeweler). The repair job on the engagement ring in house was mediocre. Tom has since done all in his ability to rectify the issue, but unfortunately for them, we’ve got a bad taste in our mouth, and will be moving out of state, so we will not be returning.
Until a few weeks ago, Van Gundy’s was top-​notch. I hope they are able to start redeeming themselves soon. It is really such a shame.

my fiancée & i had the pleasure of shopping for her wedding band, had to match a engagement ring she co-​designed, no mean feat in itself. went to a few places, saw the sign out in front about us guys not liking this kind of establishment, etc. lo,&behold, was greeted by warm, helpful, friendly staff, that went way out of their way to answer the love of my life’s umpteen questions. not only did they find the perfect match to her engagement ring, they gave us a great ½ price discount for the repairs for engagement ring, too. service, most of the time seems to be a thing of the past, but BETH, in particular, exuded charm, service, care, just a person who truly seem to want us to have the perfect experience, even coming in after she was already off for the day, to have a drink with us! i know this won’t be our last experience here! *****

I have been a customer of Van Gundy for at least thirty years, since my late husband and I moved to Ventura. I was so happy when they opened downtown, years after closing the mall store. My husband and I purchased many gifts for each other and for family members over the years. My wedding band was from the Tiffany store in Beverly Hills, but owner Tom Van Gundy worked with my husband to create a cage-​type diamond band to go with, for our tenth anniversary, with the unusual oval main stone I wanted. We purchased watches for each other, my watch they are still servicing all these years later. Mine had a gold link bracelet mounted on it, for another birthday. We bought grad gifts, birthday gifts, and so many other things! These days my trips are mostly for watch batteries, cleanings and reconditionings, but that’s what’s so great — this is the old style «family retainer» jeweler! Their repair work is excellent, even on a faithful pair of department store hoops that are my everyday earrings — everything is handled with respect.

They are amazing! The things that they have in the store are stunning and if on the off chance you want something that they don’t have they will work with you to get/​create your dream jewelery. Everyone there is awesome. I stop by often to drool over their stunning pieces and I’ve gone with quite a few friends. They do an amazing job on ring cleaning too if you ever need to have that done. They cleaned my engagement ring the day before our wedding it was «brand new» sparkly!

This Store had it all for me. First there staff was very nice and knowledgeable. The feel of the store was very open. They have a real nice lounge area where my wife and I sat and discussed our options, before we made our purchase. We were astonished at how hip it felt in there. The quality of their pieces is hands down one of the best. They showed us recommendations they had and everything that they recommended we agreed with. It was very pressure free and they took the time to know us more personally. I recommend this store and have brought over some of my friends. They greet you with a smile and leave you feeling proud of the purchase you made. My wife has since received numerous compliments on her ring. I too have received compliments on my band since I purchased a one. I will be shopping here for any future purchases of jewelry. A better climate than their previous mall location, with no pressure and tons to choose from with wall to wall class.
