I was a bit nervous to jump back into yoga after years of not practicing. Sarah’s style and welcoming presence quickly put me at ease and allowed me to truly be present in class and not worry about doing things«right». The flow of the classes always varies and offers a great workout. She doesn’t push you and encourages you to take things at your own pace. Her classes have strengthened my practice and confidence to try out new poses, drop into other classes around the community, and begin my own at home practice. As a social worker, I am constantly searching for ways to practice self care and not let the pain I see everyday in my work seep too deeply into my soul. VGY classes help me manage my stress, keep me focused and have empowered me to slowly build mindfulness into my daily routine. When I miss class, I feel it and am jumping onto Facebook to see when the next class will be! I love, love the things that make VGY special and miss those elements in other classes. Thanks for what you’re doing for our community, VGY!

I always thought yoga just wasn’t for me because I just wasn’t flexible or into those slow, meditation based classes(at least not in place of a workout). But Sarah kills it! After just my second session with her, things started to click and I was both better at completing the poses properly AND enjoying myself AND getting a workout. She switches things up often which is great because no matter how many times you go, there’s always something new. She even personalizes her classes by using essential oils and affirmations(which are always on point somehow). I especially love when she teaches at local breweries. Start going now, before her classes really blow up and you won’t be able to find any space!!!

I have been doing yoga on and off for about 10 years. I’ve never really committed to it because 1. Most yoga studios are too expensive and 2. I never really found an instructor that I completely vibed with! And then I found Sarah. Her teaching style is very laid back which makes you feel comfortable, like you’re doing yoga with a friend. She incorporates a bit of her Reiki training into her classes which I love. I love when yoga practices really delve into the mind and spirituality, but it’s not too over the top where you’re freaked out. Her vinyasa flow ranges from mellow to fast paced. She changes it throughout the week which is great because you feel like you’re getting a different type of workout each time. I always feel so relaxed after her classes, even if she just kicked my butt! I am a runner, which means I’m generally pretty stiff so at first I could barely touch my toes! I was a mess and she really helped me get to where I am now, which I am very proud of! Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced yogi, I highly recommend Sarah’s classes. She caters to all levels and she’s an awesome person!

I had no idea I would like yoga so much but I’ve been curious and wanting to try it without making a commitment. This has been the perfect way for me to try it out. Sarah is a great instructor. I was BRANDNEW to yoga and I’m in my 50s so kind of nervous but it’s no problem. Just follow Sarah’s instructions and watch what everyone else is doing and you’ll soon pick up on all the different poses. There are all levels of people in the class. Sarah is knowledgeable and encouraging; she will demonstrate correct positioning and might gently correct your pose but is never pushy. It’s up to you how much you want to challenge yourself, and then it always ends with a relaxation exercise. I just love that these classes have been outdoors with some incredible ocean views, although I realize that can’t last with our daylight hours disappearing and a wet winter being forecast. I won’t give away the other special touches because it’s nice to be surprised your first time :-)
