Wienerschnitzel

I remember long ago when this was a good place for a hot dog.
Now it is absolute garbage. The hot dogs are smaller in diameter than a vienna sausage and tasteless. What a disgrace to even call this a hot dog!
This company is most definitely circling the bowl for good.

I just want post this to say Thank You. You see, today is Veterans Day. I heard that this restaurant was giving a free meal to veterans and active duty service members. Being a U.S. Navy veteran, I thought, cool! So after dropping my wife off to work, I headed over to Wienershnizel on Harbor Drive in Ventura, CA. Armed with my DD-​214 and ID. I walked in and saw the display stating the offer. I told the young man at the register that I would like to order it and showed him proof of my veteran status. He took my order, thanked me for my service, and said that the freebie was well deserved. As I sat down and ate the meal I thought, «How appropriate to be eating an all American meal like a chili hotdog for lunch on Veterans Day.» While I was enjoying this meal, a huge wave of emotion overcame me and I began to weep. I said a prayer for all my brothers and sister who have served and the ones who would never again eat an all American hotdog in the land that they gave their life to defend. When I was done with my meal I went up to the young man who served me and showed such respect to me and asked him if I could speak to his manager or shift leader. When the manager came out I thanked him and told him how profoundly this simple act had affected me and how his staff were respectful and professional. I was so choked up that I couldn’t very well say all that I wanted to them, so I’m posting it here. Look, I know it was just a chili hotdog and a small drink, but that simple gesture was so huge. I will never forget this and will be a Wienershnizel fan for life. God bless Wienershnizel! Thank you. You folks made my Veterans Day.

Much goodness in the chili cheese fries and hot dogs but night time they put allot of salt on that kind of ruins the fries so go earlier

I live in Camarillo and come to this Ventura location because I’ve always experienced great service and they’re yummy!

BTW: I am guilty of stopping here for a quick Chicago Dog, but no more! Usually staffed by teens on cell phones with limited customer skills or a positive work ethic apparent to the customer.

Love love love the chili dogs. My son insisted on getting their corn dogs. Quick service today.

What can be said about an institution as old as this.
This location is usually pretty fast and serves good mustard dogs and fries.
The ice cream is good as well and at about a dollar for a small cone, it’s a win win.

Came here with wife and kids and service was crap and we had a coupon from entertainment book and they gave us a hard time for it and because this is on the my iPhone they stated that I would have to bring the coupon in with me. How stupid I did it was on my phone and they are very far behind the times come on get with it! It’s lunchtime and it’s very slow and the tables are gross. All of the workers are just standing around. Here’s a novel idea WASH TABLES. Also empty the trash cans they are over flowing, and ketchup all over the fronts of the trash bins

You may buy expect it from a wiernerschnitzel, but it has a 1) a breakfast menu and 2) it’s fantastic. Local owned, manger has been morning counter guy for years. Also a tastee freez.

The only good thing about my recent trip were the corndogs were hot.
To start off, the place is absolutely filthy. Someone spilled a drink, so the staff put up a cone for almost an hour without even cleaning it up. The bathroom are disgusting. There are gas stations with cleaner bathrooms.
I ordered dinner for my family and we were for the most part enjoying the food. I went back up to order ice cream since it was my daughters birthday. They put 3 servings into 3 cones and then stopped to help a customer. Then they took 1 cone to dip it and the ice cream fell into the caramel. They scooped it out and tried it again… success. Then they served another customer and poured root beer for my float. They filled another cone with ice cream and put it down on the counter.
4 minutes in and 1 dipped cone served so far.
Finally they dip 2 more cones. My root beer is still sitting there waiting for the ice cream.
Guess what they did… served another customer.
They pour one more cone and when they go to dip it in the caramel, the ice cream falls out again. Instead of pulling it out right away, they leave it in there and serve another customer.
When they went to pull it out, the «magic shell» hardened around the ice cream in the vat and got stuck in it. They had to go find some tongs to break it free and pull it out. Before they did that, i told them to pour the ice cream in the root beer so my daughter could enjoy her float.
9 minutes after my order, I have 3 dipped cones and 1 root beer float. I am still waiting for another dipped cone. At the 10 minute mark on their order screens I finally told them to forget it and give me my money back for the one last cone.
I told them of my dissatisfaction, but I guess they don’t care. In this day of age customers are never right and do not need to be served to keep them happy. Laticia did nothing to remedy the problem. Not even an apology. What a joke

Ive known bu for a couple of years now I love going there for breakfast best deal in town.

Just went through the drive through 10/1‘/2014 around 10:40PM
The door next to the drive through has a huge window in it so I was able to see a lot going on in the inside. The service was really slow so I decided to stare at the inside and I saw both two cooks touch my bun to test if it was warm or not. Then a couple seconds later the cashier touches my bun too. Yes, the cashier who didn’t wear gloves and just received the payment of the person in front of us touched my bun. My girlfriend called her out by saying «Is the stove working because we just saw all of you touch my bun», all she could only reply in her Spanish accent was «oh no». The two cooks were two teenagers with one wearing a backwards Chicago Bulls hat. Whenever I see teenagers working in the back of a fast food restaurant I always assume below par service and this was no exception. If I begin to feel under the weather in two days I’ll know atleast one source of its fruition. Hope its not Ebola
Please hire better quality workers

Its a great location, food is tip top for what it is.
The prices are good, edging on a bit pricey, but good.
I just dont see anything remotely healthy. Closest is the chicago dog.
If you like fries, hot dogs, chili dogs, chili burgers, corn dogs and even fish and chips that are decent I’d recommend. Give it a try.

I first went to this Wienerschnitzel in 1990 and met the owner Bu and his cook Armando. Over the years I’ve gotten to know these 2 fine men and they are still there anxious to feed us their delicious food. Go there for breakfast and order the Country Breakfast, croissants, breakfast burrito and more.

I remember I came here with a friend after a couple of hours being at the ventura beach. Was starving for food, so we made a pit stop to eat before heading back home. Decent food, average service.

I was surprised, great chilicheese dog and burger. The chili is perfect. Just like my favorite from my college days

Close to the beach for a quick drive through and lunch at the seaward av beach or take it on up to Rincon. Real soft serve vanilla ice cream instead of yogurt. Not fancy but better than most fast food close to the beach.

We had a coupon for 6 mini corn dogs for 99cents… a great deal and pretty good… chicken battered mini hot dogs…
