Didn’t care for it. Lobster tail was the size of a scampi, you couldn’t make menu substitutes i.e. I wanted mashed potatoes instead of Mac n Cheese, no can do! The amount of bread they brought to table for four people was laughable, in fact we chuckled pretty hard! It was about 2″ of the end of a baguette.

The absolute worst service in my life. 1st off we had a party of 11 and called at 1pm to make reservations for 6:30pm. The restaurant told us no we couldn’t come at that time because they had a partybof 30 coming in. So we were nice and said ok we will come in at 730pm. So upon arriving we were squeezed into a small corner and the waitress took 30 mins just to get our drinks. We patiently waited. Needless to say 2 ½hours later we finished dinner and a waitress working that wasn’t even ours asked us if everything was good. We nicely said somethings were good and someone replied that the perch was over cooked. The waitress rudely replied«do you own a restaurant?» Then rudely asked if we were locals and our reply was no. She started to get argumentative and was talking in a condensing manner. We were in awe of the distasteful mannerism. I would never return here nor do I ever recommend this place to anyone.

Service was great. Walleye chowder was outstanding and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the dinners. Perch tacos were lacking the main ingredient… perch. For the price, there should have been more perch and at least three tacos not two. The tacos shared a half a filet per taco. The perch dinner was overpriced and had no flavor. The buttermilk fried chicken dinner had great flavor and the mac and cheese was good. While I would like to return to try some more of the menu, it won’t happen as they are way overpriced for the portion you get. They were also out of most of their beer which was unfortunate.

5⁄5 Service, 4⁄5 food although we haven’t made our way through the menu enough to truly assess. Very promising approach. I like it

Holy over priced as hell. Holy over rated. Seats are uncomfortable, tables are very small. They try so hard to be hip but they just fail all over the place.

Went to lunch with our relatives and enjoyed wonderful appetizers and entrees that far exceeded our expectation! Don’t be misled by the simple exterior as the fare was unique and well worth your visit. We all shared several of the appetizers including the walleye chowder, Mac & Cheese and the perch tacos which were satisfying and extremely flavorful! For our entrees, we had the Fish & Chips with perch, the pump house burger, mushroom risotto, the crab cake burger and grilled cheese — they were all fantastic. We didn’t have any room for dessert but based on the flavor and quality that they had put into our appetizers and entrees, I think that we would not have been disappointed at all! Prices were comparable to the quality provided along with the great service that we received — I would return the next time we are visiting.

This place is fabulous in every sense of the word. The barrel aged manhattans are to die for. The burger is great. The scallops are fabulous! I could go on and on about every dish. Comfortable ambiance. Fun! I love this place!

A five star review out of me is darn near IMPOSSIBLE… and I also don’t usually give a super positive review after just one visit. So… I visited The Blind Perch for the first time for lunch yesterday, and it was BONKERs! One of my favorite things to make at home is cheesy gritys or polenta with shirmp and bacon. I am a WIZZARD at it… They actually managed to out do me. not in portion size obviously being a high end gastropub. But they created a more complex flavor profiel. The additon of artichoke and kalamatta olive created a whole new layer to dish that was and excelent choice. As a happy accident they was a dinner menue item and I wanted it for lunch, so they didint’ have the bacon prepped… they subsited pork belly, and I gotta that is the way they should just serve it. Not a bad thing I could possibly say it other than I wanted more… but then I would have eaten more :)

We were very surprised at the food, the wife’s burger was the best either of us ever had, and the walleye I had was superb(although the accoutrements left a little to be desired). Good food, a bit loud but overall a decent place to go.

Great appetizers and service! I order the Jojos with out bacon dust. Unfortunately, they did not hold the dust and the dish was brought out to me. After reminding the waitress that I did not want beacon she was not only very apologetic but brought me a complimentary glass of wine. Although it took a little while for my dustless Jojos they were well worth the wait. ideal for after work drinks with friends or colleagues.

I’m not sure what has happened here. When they first opened, this place rocked. You could find a semi-full bar most nights, with great service from great bartenders. Suddenly bartenders are leaving as soon as you get to know them, and the ONE that you want to leave remains. Fire-breathing at the bar while a table for 10 is having a celebratory night out? Bad idea. Not much table service, and tonight, St. Patrick’s Day at 7 pm there were only 6 people seated at the bar, and two tables. The owners are nice people, but they need to determine who they want to cater to, classy or trashy, and then staff accordingly.

It’s hard to review this place with stars. I’d rename it confused identity. The food is really good! The atmosphere confusing. Bar tender was good but you have the other one who wants to breathe fire in the middle of the place like a frat house while people are trying to have what some would consider a white table cloth. The owners were totally ripped a bar rescue recipe for failure like john Taffer shows every time. This place is it perfect template. Chef was great but the overall loud experience and owners that couldn’t barely stand I was turned off. I don’t think I’d pay 23.00 for perch with that atmosphere. Take the chef and the same plate somewhere else absolutely. It needs fixed Mardi Gras decorations and white table cloths just don’t work. Maybe it was the vodka and coke that made that thought work from them who knows

We stopped in about 3:30 for a late lunch, and our serVer brought us both the lunch and dinner menus. I had the crab cakes, and my spouse had the Lake Erie perch. Both were excellent! I got the crab cake burger by accident, and really wanted the Brussels sprouts that went with the dinner. Our server brought me out a big portion to make up for the misunderstanding. Wow, they were good! We will definitely go back. Cozy, intimate ambiance. Frank Sinatra playing. .

Put First visit, happy to have finally made it In. We were greeted immediately by the friendly staff! A nice wine list, with a nice selection. We chose a very nice red blend. Enjoyed the mussels special, filet cut to order was cooked perfectly. And a unique twist on Pineapple Upside down cake to finish. Truly enjoyed our experience. Excited to have found this little gem!

Went here because of the reviews on Unilocal. Was not satisfied. I brushed off the fact that there were two fruit flies in my beer. I ordered the poutine. The Demi glaze was way too heavy. And the«tenderloin» in it seemed to be ground up. Then I tried the perch tacos that were recommended by the tender. They were a bit heavy with the coleslaw and skimpy on the perch. Overall I was not thrilled. I will likely not try it again.

This would be a 4 – 5 star rating. The gourmet menu is a pleasant surprise for vermilion. Great selection of draft bears. The oven roasted chicken thighs were a bit dry. Try the burgers, oh so tender ground stake. All in all a great dining experience

We came here in March of ’14 for our birthdays. The chef was charismatic, inventive and the food was amazing. I came back tonight for my Anniversary with my lovely boyfriend and they told me the chef moved on! I purchased the same meal I had last time, as it was was amazing in March, and it was wickedly terrible. The whole tone of the restaurant changed. The crispy chicken thighs, in march were brilliant crispy and blistered with no breading and covered in a fantastic butter drizzle. This time they were gristly and covered in a fish fry breading. I payed 17 dollars for fish fry breaded chicken ! So gross and so saddening … Even the service was terrible… Just wow!

Our parents are celebrating their 26th anniversary and they wanted to take us out to dinner with them. We went out to the blind perch. It had a nice atmosphere. I guess it was a popular place for dinner but when we got there I didn’t believe it. But throughout the night it got crowded and it seemed like there wasn’t as much seating. The service was nice but it could have been better. There were 2 waiters that took all the tables. This meant that the service was a bit slow and we waited awhile for our dessert and check. The food was delicious I had the crispy Lake Erie perch which was so tasty. So all and all it was a fantastic dinner but the service could have gone a bit better

So we spent a lovely Saturday evening here with friends — the service great, drinks(and we are a complex group) were well up to snuff, and then there was this divine part of the night called dinner… OMG… I had scallops with risotto and their house brine-soaked green beans(mmmm), my hub had the pork cheeks, which I thought, yuck, but after one tender juicy bite, I am a convert! Another friend had fish tacos which were amazing, and another had the bison, which was juicy, tender, and seasoned subtly and with care. I am coming here again in 2 weeks and bringing 5 women with me for a GNO because I know they will LOVE this place! Top it off with the most friendly staff. Had the honor of meeting the owners who are so down to earth and interested in your feedback! A great evening! Go here with confidence!!!

Glory be! A fantastic dining experience in good ol’ Vermilion! I had the bison short ribs($ 26), my dad had the pork cheek($ 20), my mom had the chicken thighs($ 17), and my sister got the scallops($ 20-something). We all LOVED. LOVED. The food was just so great, and the prices are attainable(take that, Chez!), but it still lend themselves to special occasion dining as well. Our waitress was lovely, and I’m just so thrilled that the Blind Perch chose to nest in V-town.
