It’s really a surprise that this Dominick’s is still in business in Vernon Hills considering all the other options available for grocery shopping. The store is way too small and there is never enough help at any time during the day. I’ve spent many a time waiting in line to checkout than picking out my actual items. I will only really come in to buy gift cards since their selection is pretty decent and I do like the Safeway brand roasted tomato basil soup. However, I don’t like these things enough to deal with the lack of enough staff.

Tired, dirty, old rundown. Not sure why they don’t tear it down and make a nice store here. I got some bad meat here too. Coffee was cold and the little tiny eating area was filthy. Has a food inspector visited this place?

Woah, this place is pretty awful! It’s old, dirty looking and cluttered. The store layout is a mess. I can NEVER find anything, and the employees(strange, but friendly) are also hard to find! This is the Dominicks that time forgot. The company either needs to close it or remodel it. With a Jewel very close and a Mariano’s opening this spring just down the road, Dominicks is left with those two options. I am ASHAMED that a store like this is in my community.

With so many stores to choose from, this would be the last. Dirty floors. Old place. Overpriced food.

Yowza. If there was ever a store that needed a complete remodel, I think this is it. The floors are old and kinda dirty/scuffed, the end caps and shelving looks like they’re from 1990, and the deli case and produce section look very dated as well. It also seems like some of the aisles are displaced(i.e. the pop/Gatorade aisle is the first one). I asked an employee for help finding something and he was pretty helpful and didn’t give me the stink eye, so they get a star for that.

This place is a hole. The floors look gross, the place is kind of cluttered and it’s kind of dark and gloomy in there. Obviously it hasn’t been updated since the Carter administration. Illinois has by far the worst grocery stores anywhere. Dominicks and Jewel in particular are overpriced, have terrible produce and have a piss poor selection of gourmet food. I’m at the point I’d even be happy to have a Whole«Rat Poo» Foods up here in the burbs…
