My hair looked great! Kaitlynn is amazing and I literally had so many amazing compliments about my hair! I went back a couple weeks ago to put more blonde in my hair and she did such an amazing job. My sisters and I love her and the work she does! This place is truly a hidden gem!

I go here once a month and the haircuts are great. Also the entire company is very customer centric which is a refreshing change from so many other places today ! The owner is extremely accommodating and the treatment you receive (from a customer service perspective) is more reminiscent of the four seasons hotel than a haircut place. I highly recommend it !

I moved out to the Vernon Hills area about 2yrs ago and still have NOT been able to find a stylist and it has been something that has put me in edge so as most people do I googled salons around me and read the reviews and this salon came up and had pretty good ones so I figured I’d give it a shot.
Mind you this was in a Saturday at 12:30 noon I called in to the salon to see if I could make a same day appointment as I was desperate for a cut and a color (Being a hair stylist myself I knew it was so far fetched that I would realistically get an appointment for theses 2 services in the same day.)
When calling in the gentleman that answered the phone was super helpful and willing to work with me. At first he said that they were fully booked and would have to check with the stylist to see if she could fit me in (especially because I have hair that comes all the way down to my mid butt area). He then a not even a few minutes later said that he had checked with the stylist and that I would be able to come in at 2:30. I then wasn’t sure if I could make it so I asked if he could hold the appointment for me.(again working at a salon before myself «holding an appointment» on a Saturday is a big NoNo but the gentleman could hear in my voice how much I really needed it.
We hung up and about 30min later I called back to say I could come in and they sure enough had saved to appointment for me (which I was ecstatic yet very apprehensive about as this is how I am when trying out new hairstylist since I have had my fair share of HORRIBLE HAIRCUTS)
When coming in the gentleman that I had talked to on the phone immediately knew who I was and checked me in as well welcomed me with a smile and asked if I would like him to take my jacket and if I would like water/​coffee/​tea. (Which was also surprising to know that the man at the front desk was the owner of the entire salon himself)
Soon after my stylist Kaysie came to introduce herself to me. Such a sweet and positive attitude which was nice. Immediately after sitting in the chair Kaysie began to ask me what I was looking for and it was such a relief that she wanted to accomplish what I wanted done and not what she wanted me to have done (which typically happens with stylist that think they know all). I asked for about 3inches and that’s all she took off no less no more (I am very picky). As far as my color she did the exact color I wanted and as for and the scalp massage to finish while rinsing off the color was. It was phenomenal.
I honestly could not have asked for a better person and salon to go to. Such great customer service as well as the fact that these people care about what you think and how you feel when you leave is so refreshing. I didn’t feel like they just wanted my money and to get me in and out.

Kaysie did an amazing job cutting and styling my hair. I had more than 6 inches of my hair cut off, and I was uneasy about committing to short hair. However, Kaysie cut and made my hair look so amazing and I’m so happy with the results. She is also an absolute sweetheart. I definitely recommend coming here!

Rachael is excellent! I always tell her to do whatever she wants with my hair – as long as it still looks good. She always gives me the perfect cut. She knows what she’s doing and is amazing at her job!!! This salon is moderately priced… about $ 35 for a wash, cut, and blowout! It is so worth it compared to other places who charge $ 60+ for a sub-​par hair cut!

Taren was exceptional. I rarely leave a salon with my hair looking exactly like I had envisioned — but I did this past week.
I asked for balayage highlights to my dark blonde hair, with slightly more light pieces around my face. She did just that and then gave me a trim and long face framing layers to compliment the color.
Prices were reasonable, and everyone was friendly. I left with samples and coupons for next time. I’m so happy to have found this place!

Rachel did an awesome job on my niece. I can not be happier with the results of her hair color. Very natural looking and perfectly matched to her skin time and eyes. Very good job. Will use their service again for sure.

Don’t judge me but I waited over 6 months to get a haircut. I just moved to Chicago 2 years and was still in the hunt to find a great hairstylist. I went to 2 previous hair salons in Chicago and they butchered my long, silky Korean hair. I walked out of the salon crying both times hence my hesitation to get my long locks cut.
But I was so fed up with my hair and decided to spontaneously get it during my lunch break yesterday. I went to
(of course) and found this salon since it was only 6 minutes from the corporate office I worked at. I called 30 minutes and got an appointment in then got an amazing haircut by Tristen! She was so patience and listened to me and even gave me sound advice for my long hair. I walked out of the salon 4.5 inches lighter and with a huge smile on my face. Haircut was $ 39, which is reasonable for Chicago and with tip, total was only $ 44! Not too shabby1
Thanks Parks 5^th Avenue and definitely will not wait another 6 months for a haircut again!

Love Rachel. I’ve been seeing her for 4 years and I will not trust my hair to anyone else. They always have great deals on their products too. Bring cash for tips. They won’t take tips on credit cards.

This place is great. I had been waiting too long for a haircut because I didn’t love my old salon. So, after reading some good Unilocal reviews, I chose to go here. Andrea was AWESOME. Listened to what I wanted, did a great job, suggested some new products but didn’t push them. We had a great conversation, and I got an awesome haircut. I liked her so much I made Saturday appointments for my 2 kids. I have already scheduled my next appointment. I could not be happier.

These guys have been cutting my hair for the past six years. Since I’m the kind of person who decides on a whim to get my hair cut, I always had someone different. Taryn was my most regular stylist-​and she was adorable. I think they have some sort of log that mentions your life because I’m amazed at the things that she seemed to remember. She was always so friendly and she always made my hair look beautiful. Dean is a gem, he’s such a goofy guy. I love getting his emails even though I (sadly) no longer go to this salon for my hair care due to relocating. Keep up the good work!

Got another cut from Clara and I am even more of a fan… if that’s possible! She not only gave me the perfect cut (I didn’t want too much length to be taken off yet I wanted a shape and volume on top), gave me LOADS of good advice about products to use and shampooing style, and an overall great experience with lots of other chit-​chat and laughter!
She made sure she talked to me about what she would do and while cutting made sure to keep me updated. She herself has seriously cute hair!
After my shampoo, she gave me this head massage, which felt oh-​so-​good! After the shampoo, cut and blow-​dry, it was only $ 30! Can’t beat that!
Clara doesn’t work on Mondays and Saturdays usually (though she’s working Saturdays for the prom season).
If you are a first time visitor they give you a goodies bag that contain samples of some shampoos and conditioner and coupons for your next visit and your friends!
So don’t wait… if you need a cut and are in the neighborhood, go there now!

One of the women at the health club where I work out had the most flattering short haircut, and I finally broke down and asked her for her stylist. She happily told me, «GC Salon — ask for Joanne!» Fortunately, Joanne has evening appointments (a must for me, as I work in Chicago), and I was able to get in the next week.
First of all, the salon is spacious and clean, and the wait was negligible (always a problem at other places I’ve gone). Second, Joanne is a great stylist! She was friendly and fun, honest about how the haircut I had admired would look on me, she did not try to sell me on coloring my hair (I’m 50, and my hair is way gray — more salt than pepper — something my old stylist hated), and best of all, my haircut looked just fantastic. I honestly wished I had somewhere fun to go afterward, because my hair looked so cute.
After two appointments with Joanne, one desperate Sunday I called to schedule a last minute appointment (I had a funeral to attend the next day and wanted to look presentable), and was told Priscilla was available. I was a little worried she wouldn’t live up to the high bar Joanne had set, but my fears were unfounded. Priscilla is delightful, an excellent stylist, and a scholar to boot — we had a great conversation during my haircut! Again, my hair looked wonderful and I was very pleased with the result.
I do not recall the precise amount I paid for my haircut and style. I’m pretty cheap (I’ve gone to three stylists who work out of their basements — yes, THAT cheap) and I hate forking over a lot of money for hair care. The fact that I don’t recall the exact amount means I wasn’t appalled by the price. It was definitely worth it!

The good: I was able to walk in without an appointment, and they saw me right away; they gave me a cute little thank you bag with hair care samples.
The bad: their price is a bit high considering the service; they put me on an email list I can’t get off of; not very friendly.

So I needed to get my mop cleaned up while in the middle of an epic study binge, and G C Salon was right in the area. I was able to call and make an appointment for just a few hours later, and it seemed like they would usually be able to accommodate late appointments or walk-​ins, which is clutch, because I never plan ahead for a haircut.
By chance Priscilla was the stylist to cut my hair, and she did a fantastic job! On top of that, she is a really interesting person and was very easy to talk to. My second biggest fear when getting my hair cut with a new person is that it will be half an hour of awkward silence. Crisis averted! My biggest concern? Carnies. Oh, that’s my biggest life concern. My biggest haircut concern is that they will leave me looking like a hipster.
After my hair cut, she picked out a shampoo that I should be using (nobody knows more about these things that stylists, right?), and my bill still only came out to $ 32. Great haircut + great service + nice people + great price = 5 stars; it’s a mathematical certainty. Whenever I need a trim in the area, I will go back here.
