I was bumped from another hotel in resort I here. This is Not good at all. Very 1975 décor. Old carpet. Old fixtures. No room service. It’s like the Shining here. Honestly they should be ashamed of this property. Clearly something hey bought up and shuffle people too when overbooked at other properties. I’m watching a 19″ Zenith TV. They’ve been out of business since 1982! Must be better options. Never will return. Terrible experience.

The hotel offers many outdoor activities that one should be prepared to take full advantage of: mountain biking, zip lining, horse back riding etc. Additionally, they offer a beautiful pool. Everything around the hotel is beautiful as far as lawn/garden maintenance etc. I was extremely disappointed that the fire place had been turned off for the season when it had been used as a selling point. Also, the bed was horrible. I have not slept on such an uncomfortable bed in decades. The televisions are extremely low quality, they must have been left over from another hotel. Yes, there were extra towels and pillows but the top sheet was visibly dirty. Considering the price, and having stayed at other Vernon hotels which were lovely, I expected a much higher standard.

Cute hotel right on the ski slopes. The beds aren’t that comfortable but they are fine for a couple nights. Any more than two and I don’t think I’d stay here. No restaurants in the hotel bc the ski lodge is right next door. The pool and hot tubs are open year round which was great. Not so great was the fact that children were in both hot tubs every time we went down and they were rambunctious(as kids are) but it did take away from the relaxation a hit.

After two stays here we cannot take it anymore. From pubic hair on towels and wash cloths to soiled bed sheets to the foul ordered and dirty clothed bearded maintenance man this place is run down, acutely mismanaged and down right disgusting. Our maid service boy smelled like he hadn’t showered in weeks. Honestly shocking. The staff here have as much concern for Appalachian Hotel as one would have for a vacant doghouse. I heard several horror stories from other guests in the pool. One woman told me that she awoke to find a dirty maintenance man in her room. She explained that when she screamed and who he was and what was he doing in her room, he simply laughed and said I’m here to change the air filter. Other guests complained of having damage to their cars in the parking area. In addition i heard from other skiers that Appalachian uses their fire alarm to wake up late sleepers on the weekends. Starting at 9am and continuing well past noon. I will never stay here again…

Nice place. Great for a family, lots of kids. We went with a baby and it worked well. We got a nice crib with sheets and extensively used the amenities of our suite. Pros: — Suites are comfortable, spacious, clean on arrival and well equipped. — Lots of towels provided, extra pillows, pool towels, etc. — Kitchenette was nearly a real kitchen. — Small but decent pool in a beautiful garden. — Laundry room. — Free underground parking kept our car cool and gave easy access to the room. Cons: — No food on site, whatsoever, not even a carton of milk. — Cleaning could be more consistent during the stay — we had to remind the reception every day that we wanted our room to be cleaned, and cleaning needed more quality control /standards(eg no wiping countertops, forgot to empty trash can, etc). — Service at the reception desk can be slow or worse, depending on who staffs it. — Beds are not too comfortable. They need a decent mattress topper to stop the springs from poking through. — Rooms on the street side get quite a bit of traffic noise.
