You’re looking at a generic Chinese restaurant, and they keep to it. Good American Chinese, quick service, and nice people. The go to for Chinese in Vernon.

I did not enjoy the food here. The ribs were dry and burnt. The house special lo mien had the same qualities. The shrimps turned to sand in my mouth.

China Star is my Go-​To place for quick, tasty Chinese food. Great egg rolls, amazing House Special Lo Mein and Fried Rice, and top-​notch Happy Family!
I haven’t had ANYTHING here that wasn’t great– not sure what Hepatitis Boy and Garlic Girl are talking about. They obviously haven’t REALLY eaten here. If you want REALLY GOOD Chinese food with out driving all the way to Morris county, this is the place to go.

I have no idea how these other reviewers can say that this place is good. My boyfriends mom told me to try it because it was decent. So I tried… Worst decision ever. The food smelled awesome, but as soon as I put to to my mouth, I had to gasp for a breath because of the abundance of garlic that streamed off if the lo-​mien. I was burping up my food with a strong taste of garlic for 3 days!!!
I love garlic, but jeez.

Seriously the best Chinese food in sussex county!!! Chicken lomein, boneless spare ribs snow peas egg rolls rice chicken wings everything is yum yum yum !!!

Did we eat at the same restaurant? Did the chef change? If there was less than a star, that would have been our rating. The food was HORRIBLE. The House Special won tons were soggy, literally soaking in grease. The sweet and sour sauce, was a tasteless, orange water. Kung Pao chicken… blech. In a word, this food is tasteless. We feel like we got robbed. $ 35 we threw in the garbage. Save your money, drive to Hamburg. We will next time.

So happy this place opened! The other joint down the street was awful. The food is great standard chinese food. My only complaint is that the Ribs aren’t that flavorful.

This place is quick and consistent with it’s food quality which is a plus for Chinese places. Everything seems to be standard fare for Chinese take out, nothing stands out. The General Tso’s chicken is served with a very minimal amount of sauce.
