Always perfect. Nothing like coffee and a chocolate croissant on Saturday morning. Very friendly too. Close your eyes and you’re in a café in Paris!

Well the pastries might be tasty but the service is lacking. I went there and placed an order. Days in advance. I requested to pick it up on a Saturday at 11am. I specifically said it couldn’t be any later than that because I had to drive 2 hours for a Christmas party after picking the desserts up. The person i spoke to assured me that was not a problem. Had they been honest from the start and said that couldn’t be guaranteed I would’ve respected the honesty and went elsewhere. I showed up at the agreed upon time and was told it wouldn’t be ready for another 3 hours. No phone call telling me there was a delay. No apology. Nothing. So thanks for screwing over a customer. Because of you I had no dessert to bring to my party. And because of your poor service I will never go there again.

It would be nice if this place sold drinks. Even just something bottled. Also, when the items I purchase are fresh, they are absolutely incredible. However, recently I’ve noticed that I am eating something that is clearly a day old. It’s a gamble I’m willing to make because it’s the best bakery in the area. Just wish it was a little more consistent.

J’adore! Extremely tasty and beautifully prepared; a taste of authentic french pastries. Definitely go for the chocolate eclairs!

It’s been a really long time since I have had such delicious pastry that is easy on the palette and the tummy and not loaded with cream and sugar. ‘Delicate’ is the best way to describe Colette’s creations. Ordered a simple cake for my husband and a fancy owl shaped one for my son and both were absolutely delicious. They were a big hit!

First and foremost, I’m not rating their baked goods. I have never tasted them. This is a review of a special order and interaction with staff. I ordered a king cake for my husbands birthday party. I called 1 week ahead of time. I asked if they could makes a king cake. Worker wasn’t sure, asked baker. Yes, they’re willing to do it even though it was after king cake season. Great. Took my name and number and asked when is like to pick it up. In one week. Sunday at 11am. Done. That woman was great to talk to. I send my sister in law to pick it up before the party. They didn’t make it! They said they tried to call. But I received no call. She said there was no real apology. Huge bummer. What do you do when you’re on your way to a party with no cake? Go to the grocery store and get a bleh non-descript cake. Not what I was hoping for that special day that I planned for a week in advance. I called the manager. He didn’t apologize either. Just said, she didn’t have the equipment for the king cake, and really passed the buck and blamed the baker. I think I’ve gone on enough. You get the point.

La Brioche is great! We just moved to Ellington less than a year ago & I had been looking for a good French bakery for years. Had been craving a Mille Feuille cake :) I was shocked to find La Brioche was only 10 mins away! A week later, we were invited to a party & I decided to ask Collette to make us the cake for the occasion. Being a short notice(I called the morning of the party), Collette was happy to oblige. It was a hit & everyone loved it! Really made the evening. Can’t wait for our next party to ask for another one of my favorites… Fondant au Chocolat ;) Tip: If you’re trying the Mille Feuille, make sure to ask her to make It with jam, not powdered sugar Highly recommended, of course

Right across from Town Hall, La Brioche, a former Stafford favorite, shares its artisan tarts, cakes, and croissants with locals at its new home in downtown Rockville. There is a lot of foot traffic here between the town hall and the courthouse. Don’t judge La Brioche French Bakery by its humble décor, Colette and her family serve up delicious baked goods to make up for their homely appearance. She has been baking for decades and sells home-made French breads and pastries. The range of crusty breads: baguettes, multi-grains, pumpernickels, and sourdoughs; are all relatively cheap($ 2 to $ 4). What she does, quite simply, is make wonderfully baked goods. The brioche, fluffy and flaky– is very good. Outside of the cookies, all of La Brioche’s puff pastries: palmiers, danishes, cheese stars, raspberry/strawberry/apricot-filled, are made in-house. Colette’s specialty though, and arguably my favorites, are her eclairs. Vanilla or chocolate, they are only $ 2 a piece and are without a doubt, melt-in-your-mouth! The delectable spread of breads and pastries most clearly reflects Colette’s passion for baking. Though there are only 2 small tables, complimentary coffee accompanies all orders and is a small reminder of Colette’s love of people. 8am to 5pm; Sunday, 8am to 1pm. Cash only. Special orders for breads, cakes and pastries are welcomed.

Real French bakery here folks. Very nice staff. Collett and John are eager to please customers. Free cup of coffee with any party purchase! Sit down and enjoy an awesome almond croissant or any of the fruit pastries. John and Collett will gladly chat you up. Very warm feeling in here. If you are lucky, ask if they ham and cheese croissants or spinach and cheese puffed pastry.
