Went to buy shrimp for the first time today: only place in town I’ve found where you can buy fresh, local seafood. Excellent selection and fair prices. And the man who helped me was very friendly and polite, in contrast to past reviews. I can’t wait to come back for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night!

We are foodies from Houston and were very impressed. Don’t be fooled by the exterior façade. This place is lovely and quaint. Make a reservation! Very welcoming and friendly staff. The shrimp linguini was delicious. The salad was also very flavorful and tasty. I definitely would go back.

Have never eaten at the restaurant part but do buy my seafood here to cook at the house. Everything is FRESH and great quality but the guy behind the counter is rude, pushy and does not like it if you ask questions. If the quality of the product wasn’t as great as it is I would not go back. Helpful hint know exactly what you want before you go and if you see something you have questions on be prepared to be made to fell stupid and like your taking his precious time away.

Went in a while back with my daughter, excited, because I have been looking for a good seafood market in the Vero Beach area. As we walked in, there were 2 people behind the counter(1 helping another customer), 1 server setting tables, and another owner/worker(?) in the dining area. As my daughter and I stood there,(and even the man behind the counter looked up from what he was doing), not one person even acknowledged us with a «Hello», or, «We’ll be right with you». We waited for what seemed to be 10 minutes, but realistically probably about 5 and then walked out. We would have been great customers too. Drove a little further North & found some great seafood in Sebastian.

What a great place in Vero Beach. Having just moved from DC we were looking for a good local place to get good pasta and fresh seafood. What a score… great food and cool vibe as you can get food from the deli to take home or a great sit down meal. My wife and I are foodies and we were very impressed. We both had the angel hair with white clam sauce… to die for. My wife loved how quaint this restaurant is, very unexpected. Highly recommended.

We went once so far(months ago). I felt that they could/should be a lil friendlier. The food was good — that’s what counts. I will give em a try again, one of these days. The«ambiance» is not too incredible because it’s basically a hybrid of a fish store and a restaurant or café.

I really wanted to give Joey’s a high rating! A nice couple running it, clean environment, lots of fresh fish. The room is filled with small tables covered with white cloths fully set, even with sparkling wine glasses at noon. It’s pleasant enough, considering that it’s located in a small square building on Hwy 1, far from the maddening crowd(and excellent food choices) of the island. A small board listed the lunch specials, the«cheapest» of which was $ 14.95. This should have been my warning — but it was still a shock when I opened the menu and learned that they only have one menu — dinner. If you want a light meal, say soup and salad, forget it. There is soup($ 6) but no salad other than the Greek salad that comes with entrees. After some conversation, the owner told me she could make me a pan-fried fish sandwich on ciabatta, for $ 14.95. OK, I said. The bread was fabulous; the fish was okay, though much to much coating for pan-fried. Came with a bit of romaine and tomato, and a spoonful of brilliant green seaweed salad. Our colleague was pleased to see steamers on the menu, but was told no, we don’t have them. No oysters either. Just. .. anyway, she went for pan-fried soft shell crab as a sandwich. Had to ask for some kind of sauce to help with the dryness, but finally proclaimed the crab as very tasty. Spouse, who really wanted a light lunch, spotted his favorite Manhattan clam chowder, so he went for a bowl — only to find it disappointingly bland. Lots of «chewy clams,» he said, but not much taste. Later we agreed to have ice cream — unfortunately the owner couldn’t tell us what kinds she had, just sent us to the freezer compartment to see for ourselves. Bowls of ice cream and coffee took another 20 minutes, and my second glass of ice water took longer than that. . Given the wide range of choices in Vero these days — and the reality that sometimes what I really want at lunch is LUNCH — no, I will not return

Went to Joey’s last night, 7÷11÷2015. Everything was delicious. The speciality menu is a little pricey but worth every penny. We had seafood over linguine with a white sauce. Shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops were abundant, fresh, and mouth watering. We also enjoyed a French bottle of wine that was good and reasonably priced. Joe M

What a wonderful place to enjoy fresh seafood. Albeit a somewhat unique atmosphere, however this is part of the experience. While dining one evening Kimmy(one of the owners) slid up to the piano and took numerous requests from the diners. What a blast! Great seafood, and many kudos to Joey and Kimmy.

Met a friend for lunch today. I asked for a white wine that is sweet and the staff found the perfect one on the first try. Was so nice. My friend had the Lobster Bisque lunch special with the Greek Salad, and I had the Shrimp and Scallop Scampi with pasta on the side with a Greek Salad also. It was so succulent, delicious, tasty, to die for, absolute treat. I also got some stone crabs to take home for dinner tonight. I love this place.

Loved the whimsical ambiance… linen set tables set up in a fish market, just right whimsical decorations. Service was Okay. Ice tea delicious, coffee press coffee… a different touch. Lobster roll on ciabatta roll, sides of seaweed salad and coleslaw, was excellent and priced a bit high but appropriate. My luncheon partner had lobster bisque which was good not great and a very pedestrian salad which was priced much too high.
