La Cucina Di Nola

Received a coupon in the mail and decided to check it out. Doing this on our daughter’s 17^th birthday wasn’t the best idea, apparently. We walked in and the place was empty, which should have been our first clue. It smelled badly of something burnt, but we tried to ignore that. They had Frank Sinatra singing «That’s Life» playing on a loop, and after the third playing in a row of the same song, we asked them to turn it off. We were then greeted by an older man, presumably the owner, who initially was nice, and told him we were there for a birthday dinner. We were waited on my his 12 year old (?) grandson. The various segments of the meal were all served at different times and without any planning. My husband ordered clams in a garlic sauce, and the server mumbled apologetically about the clams being small as they hadn’t gotten in a delivery. Small would have been generous, in actuality they were almost invisible. They should not have even been served at all. In between dishes arriving, the server never cleaned off the table once, despite red sauce and crumbs being obvious. I finally wiped down the table myself with my napkin so my husband wouldn’t lean in it. The birthday girl ordered chicken Marsala, took one look at it, one bite to humor us, and wouldn’t eat it. (She knows food and cooks quite a bit, so this was not just a finicky child.) The sauce was a basic stock, very watery, and the chicken breading was mealy and seemed uncooked. She apologetically sent it back and ordered nothing else, as everyone else had finished their meals, due to the poor planning/​delivery to the table. We had presented our gift certificate when we came in, however when the bill came they refused to remove the Marsala, nor would they honor the gift certificate. The old owner was argumentative and rude. Avoid this place at all costs, it’s the worst restaurant in Vero Beach, and I’ve lived here for almost ten years!

Went for lunch. Very quiet but exceptional personalized service. All food cooked to order. All fresh pasta and sauces. Salad dressing fantastic. Bought a bottle on way out.
We had chicken pram and pasta with onions pepper sausage. WOW.
Have to try brick oven pizza next time. Will be back!
