Goldie’s Express

My real peeve for this place is after ordering a large amount of food I asked for pickles and was charged extra for them, same with the bread. Really? I’ve never gone to a BBQ place that did not provide a few pickles and a couple of slices of white bread to sop up your meat. Ridiculously we were charged for both. We ordered 1lb of brisket, large seasoned fries and ½lb ribs. The fries were delicious, although the «special house sauce» is mostly thousand island, not great. The ribs were very good, well spiced and fall off the bone. The brisket had been sitting in fat/​grease already chopped just soaking it all up, the flavor was ok if you can get past the huge amount of grease dripping from it. Not happy with obviously held/​warmed over brisket. Also, no napkins, plastic ware, etc. :(Lastly, «express»? LOL 30+ minutes for a lunch order

Ya gotta stop here! My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our drive from Texas to South Carolina, and we were pleasantly surprised at how good drive-​thru BBQ could be! We almost went next door to Newk’s, but when we saw this place when pulling in, we changed our minds. The potato salad was cold and really good! (It had boiled eggs and mustard in it along with a touch of dry rub seasoning maybe?) The seasoned fries were yummy, crispy and hot with just the right amount of seasoning. The portion size was good for both sides that came with my platter. We both had a brisket sandwich, and there was only 1 piece of fat, and it was on my sandwich. The rest was lean but tender and flavorful for sure, and there was a lot of meat on the regular size sandwich. I think the sauce is a vinegar sauce, and it had just a touch of heat. It was tasty even though I am used to Texas BBQ sauce. Ny husband is from South Carolina, and he LOVED it! The sweet tea was free with my lunch platter, and it was perfectly sweetened, which many places don’t do. We’ll stop here again next year when we drive through again! Oh, and the young lady at the window was as nice as can be and seemed genuinely friendly even though she was working Christmas Eve. I appreciated that southern hospitality. :)

made fresh daily. large portions too. plan on returning to try diff menu items. i had the pork sandwich but they also offer beef.

Ordered pork shoulder, brisket, beans, and French fries. Fries were very good. The rest was gross. Service is very slow for a restaurant with the word «express» in their name. Very disappointing and my craving for good BBQ continues.

Quality hamburgers and good BBQ. You may only appreciate the bbq if you’re a local. It’s served wet. Ask for the house dressing for dipping french fries.

Love Goldie’s Express. Service is great and food is fantastic. I love the Shrimp Po-​Boy. Anything I have ever eaten here has been great. The BBQ is awesome and the ribs fall off the bone. Burgers from here are huge and juicy. Easy in and out with two order windows. No place to sit and eat, strictly a drive thru restaurant. Definitely a unique taste of Vicksburg. This restaurant is not the same as Goldie’s Trail Bar-​B-​Que.

When I’m between meetings and need a quick lunch this is my go-​to in town.
I usually get the $ 10 BBQ sandwich platter. Both the beef and the pork sandwich are good, though I prefer the pork sandwich. I really like the coleslaw, it’s creamy but still light. The BBQ beans are nothing special, but I usually get them anyways. There’s free iced tea with the platter at lunch, and since you’re in the South you know you need to get sweet tea!
Service is always really friendly, and apparently the guy knew a BBQ nut when he saw one so he served me extra sauce without asking.
Whenever I drive past this place it smells like BBQ and makes me hungry. I really like the dry rubbed ribs at the regular Goldie’s so if I have time I’ll go sit down and eat there, but for a quick meal, this is my place.

BBQ is great! Season fries are awesome! Service is excellent! (this is a drive-​thru, but worth it!!)
