Overall a good experience. We were in town for just one day to visit Vicksburg National Military Park and chose Rusty’s for dinner based on its location and positive reviews. The food was very good and the portions generous. We ordered appetizers so our Yankee kids could try fried pickles and crawfish tails. The appetizers were huge! And very good. Service was prompt and very friendly. Only downsides… the wine selection is very limited(though beer probably pairs better with most of the menu), and the riverside location didn’t provide much of a river view due to the very large riverboat docked right across the road.

This place was too delicious. It was busy the night we got there but they were on it with servicing us. Our waitress was so sweet I wish I remembered her name but we loved her! I got a glass of red wine(nothing special) and then they brought us the rolls. My friend has never been so happy in her life. She said the rolls were like«miniature pillows of bread heaven» and I second that. They were so oddly amazing. She got a grilled chicken sandwich with fries and was a happy camper. I got soft shell crab, a ceasar salad, and cheese grits. OHMYGOSH. So so so so good. We split the grits because they were so incredible. For dessert my friend got the peanut butter chocolate pie and I got the Mississippi mud cake… PERFECTION. If anything, stop in to get the Mississippi mud cake. You won’t regret it.

They open for dinner at 5. I suggest you get there early cause it fills up quickly. The service is friendly and quick. It’s not a cheap dinner but it is well worth it. The blackened Mahi Mahi was simply delicious, while the wife’s bacon wrapped scallops were melt in your mouth delectable. Leave room for dessert. We had the bread pudding and it was huge and fantastic

I was driving through MS and opted to get off the road a bit and explore Vicksburg. Was lucky enough to find this gem to grab some lunch. The place was packed and I opted to eat at the bar. Definitely some excellent seafood choices available. This was my first Shrimp Po’Boy ever so I can’t say to the degree of its excellence in comparison with others in the region. Anyways, I devoured that behemoth sandwich and a side of cheesy grits. It was delicious!

Had this restaurant recommended to have lunch at on our drive to Gulf Shores. Oh my gosh – lets talk about dessert first. The Mississippi Mud Cake is the best I’ve ever tasted and easily feeds 2 – 3 people! The coconut pie was light and creamy with fresh whipping cream – yummy! Now the fried catfish was delicious with two large pieces and a side for 10.99. The Hawaiian chicken salad was ok – the flavor of the marinated chicken was good, but the chicken was tough and chewy. But back to the desserts – they also had chocolate peanut butter pie and key lime pie that also looked delicious. The Confederate museum in the old courthouse was well worth our time. What a collection of artifacts!
