Stopped here based on good reviews. Unfortunately the service was poor and the food was cold. The BBQ was just OK in my opinion.

My friends and I were staying in Victor while we visited Jackson and the Grand Teton. one night, we decided to try local restaurant in Victor. Big Hole bbq did not disappoint! Their ribs are to die for!!! It is so good that it’s like eating ice cream… such a guilty pleasure. This restaurant is certainly not for a vegetarian lol. This is a must try, enjoy!

They always mess up our to go order and they run out of brisket a lot. A little expensive for the food you get too.

Tried this place a few weeks ago and wasn’t disappointed after all the hype I’d received from a friend. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich, with a side of Mac & Cheese with the Brisket on the top. I got, per my friend’s recommendations, the Mahi Mahi tacos. I was hesitant, but took the plunge. First of all, the place smells amazing when you walk in. Small place. Not tons of seating inside or outside. We got there right before 1pm on a Friday and it filled up pretty quick. We had just gotten done with golfing and were starving. Our waitress was great and she kept the water flowing as we were totally parched. Food came out and it was delicious. After living in Maui for 5 years, I’m hesitant with ordering fish on the mainland. It was delicious. Messy due to the sauce on top, but delicious. I couldn’t finish both tacos. Gave to my husband and he was pleased. My husband’s pulled pork sandwich was really good. The side of beans they came with were okay. Tasted a little sweet, like ketchup. The Mac & Cheese was… delicious!!! Recommend getting with the brisket. So tasty! Almost got a side of it to go. We left early the next morning, had we been around for lunch, would have definitely eaten here again. Was that good!

TLDR: the prime rib sandwich is fantastic, the pulled pork wants for sauce or seasoning, and the service is iffy. || You can just walk in and grab a seat at the bar or a table, and they have a fairly impressive local beer selection, especially for such a small place. Unfortunately, no waitstaff or cook appeared for several minutes, so the only way to know the place was open was the man enjoying his food next to us. The big screen TV behind the bar is a plus for football fans. I ordered the most popular menu item from the reviews below, and it was ah-mazing. For $ 11, the sliced prime rib sandwich is served with onions and melted white cheddar on a 8″ hoagie roll with a cup of au jus and your choice of side: baked beans, coleslaw, chips, or salad. The sandwich came to me piping hot and dripping with au jus. Additional sides are $ 1.50-$ 3.00, which is helpfully inexpensive if you are splitting a meal. I ordered the baked beans for my side, and their flavor was unique — less sweet than others and very awesome to try. My husband ordered his standard, the pulled pork sandwich, and it was sadly devoid of sauce or seasoning. Big Hole has two house sauces: regular and spicy. Adding spicy sauce saved the sandwich. I would return to sit on their rooftop patio in the summer.

Stellar meat, but everything else is mediocre at best. Their meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, but not seasoned or served with sauce. They do supply two BBQ sauces you can add in yourself(one«spicier», but both zesty). Offered as sides are slaw, baked beans, pasta salad, and kettle chips. We did not have chips at our table, but each side has been better done at other locations. They fit typical BBQ fare, but are nothing worth talking more about. We had chips and Pico de Gallo as a started, which were FANTASTIC. They have perfected that salsa. Service was quite a bit of a miss. Our server was friendly and filled requests(sample a sauce before ordering, getting knives), but also missed 2⁄3 orders at our table. She made an assumption on an option plate, that we missed explicitly saying but nor did she confirm, and brought out a half rack rather than a full, so we were charged for an extra side when we shouldn’t have been. We decided to let that slide because the option plate(Mahi Mahi OR shrimp) had both sides at fault rather than all on her’s. Though the meat was good, we won’t be going back. Too blah on the other aspects, and server miscommunications when they say«I assumed xyz» are huge turn-offs for return visits. They were also not serving beer that night. Not sure why.

B-melt — «sliced beef brisket topped with melted white american served on a soft hoagie roll.» That’s the description of the most marvelous, wonderful, scrumptious, tastiest, awesome slow smoked brisket sandwich I have ever had. The BBQ Master is a genius! Every bite was a savory delight of goodness. It’s a 16 hour drive to Victor from Seattle. If a buddy said to me, It’s time for a Big Hole BBQ run I would not hesitate to go. In fact there’s an small airport a bit up the road maybe I’ll take flying lessons. Here’s an idea. Big Hole BBQ and Spa Resort. Nice studio apartment to rent for a couple of days, wake up to eggs and smoked sausage. Lunch is Brisket sandwich followed up with a nice hour long massage. Dinner it’s a full rack of ribs. Repeat next day. I’m telling you it’s a gold mine.

Big Hole BBQ is actually a tiny little place in Victor, ID on the way from Idaho Falls to Jackson Hole, but it’s worth a stop. Quite honestly, they have some of the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had. I ordered a cup topped with some brisket and it was one of the best things I ate the whole trip. The hubby’s brisket sandwich was a generous pile of lean, tender brisket to which he added some of their tasty spicy bbq sauce. The slaw is pretty darn good as well, and is a nice contrast to all of the meatiness. But the mac and cheese was hands down the favorite. Definitely worth the stop on your way to or from Jackson Hole, along with a quick stop at Grand Teton Brewery close by.

I ordered the brisket sandwich and my husband ordered the prime rib sandwich. We were not disappointed. Brisket was really good — tender, flavorful. I’d let you know about the prime rib, but I did not get any! The mac and cheese was good, as was the coleslaw. Beans weren’t my favorite — they had good flavor, but I prefer a sweeter baked bean. The restaurant is small, and we lucked out with two open seats at the bar. The service was fast and friendly. Overall I definitely recommend Big Hole.

Husband is from Texas — says the brisket is «pretty good» which is saying a lot for brisket outside of Texas haha. I had the fish tacos which were flavorful and a little spicy! Really good! The highlight was the Mac & Cheese — creamy and favorful with some sort of spice and a crunchy topping! GONNABEBACKFORTHAT! Friendly and quick service. Awesome 90s jams playing the whole time — seriously all my favorites from that glorious decade.

Truly excellent Brisket. Probably the best I have ever had. I would drive from Salt Lake just to have the brisket. Excellent job!!!

Two words: fish tacos. The BBQ is respectable(although as a KC native I’m admittedly a BBQ snob), and the sides are good, but on my last visit I ordered the fish tacos on a whim and was blown away. Great flavor, generous portions, and the slaw added the freshness and crispness. The service here has been a little suspect on my visits(have to ask multiple times for drink refills/high-chairs/server seems annoyed by special requests/that sort of thing), but the food is served quickly and accurately.

It doesn’t look impressive but this small restaurant has some excellent BBQ. There was no chicken so i chose the beef brisket sandwich. The beef, piled high on a bun, was thickly sliced and tender with a slight smoked flavor. A good, peppery, coleslaw accompanied the sandwich. The beef was precooked so I got the sandwich in just a few minutes. Victor is an interesting town; it and Driggs a few miles north are in ranch country but there are many«gentlemen’s estates» in the area showing it is a favorite area for an extra home or retirement home for the wealthy.

got a «to-go» order for a large group, and the food was amazing! Everyone had full bellies and clean plates. The price was also very reasonable. Highly recommend!

I must admit that I prefer not to eat meat, but before you discount my review, please note that I gave 5 stars and keep on reading! My husband and I went there after a busy day of unpacking and the place sure hit the spot. J had the special pulled pork sandwich and I know we’ll be coming back, if it’s just for that… I had the shrimp tacos and gave the shrimp to my husband, which left me with, that’s right — slaw tacos. And let me tell you about this slaw — creamy, hint of apples and celery, house made, amazing. I was very satisfied! Their BBQ sauce is amazing… It was a very comforting place to chill and kick back. Unfortunately I did not notice they had any beers on tap, but the bottle selection included my favorite Hawaiian Long Board.

For fans of Texas-style BBQ, this is the real deal. It’s all about the smoke. Not too much, just enough. When you get that right, you don’t need much else to win me over. I would eat there once a week if I didn’t have to drive 5 hours.

A friend who has family in the area highly recommended this place — although with the caveat that they’d only had dinner here and wasn’t sure if the same food was offered at lunch. Unfortunately the bbq’ed meat isn’t offered until dinner — drat! But they did have some bbq’ed sandwiches at lunch so we went for the brisket sandwich with macaroni n’ cheese($ 9.50). Nice! Very nice! The brisket was very tender and tasty. The macaroni n’ cheese was really good. Nice bread crumb topping. Very smooth cheese sauce(I hate it when it’s slightly gritty still). Highly recommend the mac n’ cheese over the coleslaw or chips. 4 stars for the bbq’ed sandwich. We also ended up ordering 2 mini tacos($ 2 each) which were supposed to be one pork and one chicken. But I think we ended up getting two chicken tacos because I couldn’t tell the difference between the two. The meat tasted exactly the same. It was tender but bland. I guess you can’t expect much with chicken breast. The tacos were filled with coleslaw which wasn’t that interesting. Skip the mini tacos next time. They’re not nearly as good as what you would get from a taco truck in the city. 2 stars for the mini tacos.
