I went for dinner tonight(Sunday) with two others before a movie. We got there at 6:15 when the advertised closing time on the door and online was 7. Our friend, Ryan called ahead and double checked as well. We got there and there was another table or two eating. All of the staff working this night seemed young and not very attentive. Once they took our order, no one came back to check how everything was or to offer another glass of water. The pizza was okay-I’ve certainly had worse before. I’m not the biggest fan of thin crust pizza and the large pizza my boyfriend and I split wasn’t very crispy. While we ate, the staff loudly gossiped and starting cleaning, which I thought wasn’t very welcoming. They also don’t offer split checks. Once the bill came, it took another ten minutes before the waitress came over to see if we were ready to pay. My boyfriend ended up paying for the two of us and Ryan as well and left a less than outstanding tip because the service was horrible. He also wrote something along the lines of how the environment wasn’t welcoming. Once we finally left, the three of us happened to be standing in the parking lot for a minute or two before getting in our cars. A staff member(a young guy) followed us out and yelled that they weren’t really welcoming because they«closed 45 minutes ago.» On top of being VERY unprofessional, I don’t really understand why he would say that they closed when we got there or someone didn’t say anything when we first arrived and got a table. Sad to say that I’m not going back any time soon and that it seems to be a common occurrence that the staff was rude.

My favorite restaurant. Love the pear salad and specialty pizzas. Great service and delicious food. My favorite pizza is their fall vegtable pizza with squash, brussel sprouts… wonderful!

We always get takeout and rarely are disappointed on wait time or taste. But we consistently get pizza that is so sparse in toppings. More than once, we have suggested they consider this when we call in the order. This evening we failed to mention this, and again our pizza was close to naked. There’s a new wood fire pizza restaurant in town, but if Lucca would up their quantity in toppings, it won’t be a concern. Please Lucca — such great taste, why so stingy on the toppings?!

«Good food, but to bad the owners an Ape. Far from accommodating and thinks way to highly of himself. Been spending a good chunk of change on food, beer/wine for years here and have always tipped the servers well, well before current owner took over. Unfortunately his pompous attitude last night lost my business along with 6 – 8 others. Treated friends/customers very poorly and could care less. It’s only pizza Pal, get over yourself.» Go somewhere else where your business is appreciated.

Seemed to take awhile to get our food once our order was placed. It wasn’t busy when we arrived. The sweet and spicy boneless wings were more spicy than sweet. But good none the less. The pizza was good. Nice crust and very tasty. Good size for a small. Would go again…

This used to be my favorite pizza place. Not today folks! Maybe these people are getting too busy for their own good. We placed a to-go order on a Saturday evening at 6:15 and were quoted a reasonable 35 minutes for pick-up. When I arrived at 6:45, I was told another half hour for our food. I complained but proceeded to wait in the parking lot. At 7:15 I went inside to get our food and I was told another 5 – 10 minutes. I complained about the wait and the hostess said she would get the manager for me but then for another 10 minutes she avoided making eye contact with me until I asked where the manager was. She said the manager was«too busy» to talk to me. At 7:35, an hour and 20 minutes later, I finally walked out with my pizza, having paid full price. It takes time to earn loyal customers, but only one bad experience to lose them. Keep it up Lucca, and you won’t have to worry about being«too busy» on a Saturday night!

We visited this place based on the Unilocal review. It was amazing! The service was very welcoming and friendly and the food was superb. I had Caesar salad and split the Luigi pizza with some very well priced zin. Would highly recommend Lucca!

Delicious thin crust pizza, delicious salad. The only drawback: very small space so difficult for parties of more than four.

Thumbs up on the gluten free pizza crust! It’s so east to make these dry and crumbly but Lucca’s was crispy and delicious. I snuck a piece of regular crust pizza too and it was fluffy and crispy and amazing. The funghi pizza was really tasty, lots of great veggies, but the absolute best had to be the Lorenzo. The Italian sausage, meatballs, prosciutto and pepperoni were perfectly seasoned and proportioned. Side bonus, the chefs toss the pizza dough, which is fun to watch while you wait for your dinner.

The Good: When it comes to fancy pizza, this is the best around metro Rochester. Perfect crust, perfect toppings, the whole package is just really solid. The Bad: Living in the city I rarely want to drive all the way out to Victor to eat. The actual restaurant isn’t anything special. I do kind of enjoy watching the pizza go into the oven and everything too, which isn’t really view-able here. I’ve Gone: 5 Times I Usually Order: I’ve had a few different ones, but the Luigi is my favorite.

For years I’ve traveled back and forth through Vicdtor saying I have to try Lucca. For the first time yesterday, I stopped at lunch to try their offerings. I’ve read the other reviews and perhaps it’s good to address some of the issues others have raised here. For our lunch, and the restaurant was busy, the waitress was very attentive. There were no fruit flies, and the pizza was excellent and very reasonably priced. The wait was not long at all for the pizzas. Very appropriate for a hand-crafted, wood-fired pizza. And despite some others who claim that they can do better elsewhere or at home, I’d have to say this is one of the better pizzas in Rochester. Very light and crisp crust(not burnt) with just the right amount of toppings(in other words, not gooey or messy because of an overabundance of toppings). I shared a small Angelo pizza(essentially a Margharita pizza) — garlic & oil, mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, basil and drizzled with balsamic glaze. The mozzarella was fresh, the tomatoes sweet, and the balsamic even sweeter. Very nice touch. Companions had a pepperoni pizza. Small, freshly sliced pepperoni. A very flavorful cut of meat, not your typical pepperoni. Overall, a pleasant experience. The restaurant is a bit small inside — offers more seating outside in warmer weather but still in my opinion a good inexpensive place for a very good pizza on any evening(or lunch).

Having worked in a number of restaurants, I know the 8 F’s of a GREAT restaurant. Fruit flies, filthy facilities, fair food, and forgetful food carriers. This place nails them all. Fruit flies in our wine, a bathroom that makes a thruway rest stop seem luxurious, mediocre food, and a waitress that let us sit there for an hour and half while the tables who sat after us ate before us. I’m hesitant to give them the brass ring of 1 star only because the food, once it came was actually edible.

I ate at Lucca Pizza tonight with three neighbors, all women. The four of us shared two pear salads and two small pizzas and it was plenty. It was my first time there, and I’m sure I’ll be back. We ate out front and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I brought home a pizza for my husband and he enjoyed it.

Longest wait for a table and food by far!!! Don’t recommend sitting down and eating. The food is good, so calling ahead with your order and picking up is definitely recommended! Was told the wait for a table was 20 – 25 min, waited 1 hour + ! Ordered bottles of wine while we waited(drank 2 between 4 people), thankfully we were able to do that. Ordered wings while we waited so that when we sat down we would have food. They never put the order in! After finally being seated it took another 35 min to get the wings and the pizza took another hour!!! While waiting we could see the cooks(which looked like 3 seventeen year olds) throwing pizza dough in the air for show. Waitress was not very pleasant or apologetic. Not worth the $ 130.00 bill!

Terrible service and food. Wouldn’t recommend going to a place where the owner treats the customer badly, the customer isn’t right here, especially if you aren’t happy with the food. The owner takes it personally from my experience rude. My first time here was my last

Oh this place breaks my heart! The pizza is exceptional. The service and wait time is unbelievably broken. He updated his place and added more seating with zero execution plan to serve those additional people. If u want to wait one hour after u order, come in on the weekend. Don’t come w kids. But if you want to linger, drink a few and have no worries, then u will be fine.

I’ve driven by Lucca many times, and when a friend invited me to dinner here, I was excited to try it. Maybe it was all the hype from my friend, and she loves this place, but I left feeling underwhelmed. My dining companion stated that the restaurant has been redone since her last visit, apparently to make room for more tables? You could see the cooks making pizza, but unless you were standing up, the view of the oven and the prep was obstructed by the wooden counter. The interior left much to be desired… it was pretty bare inside, with white tables covered in a paper cloth. I think a little interior décor would go a long way here. On the upside, our server was very sweet and checked in on us often. On to the food. We started with the bruschetta, and it was ok. The topping to crostini ratio was way off — 4 smallish pieces of lightly toasted bread were dwarfed by the tomato topping and the spring mix. It was lightly seasoned, but I found myself craving some balsamic vinegar to brighten up the dish. I decided to order one of the specialty pizzas, the«Lucca» which came with their red sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella and parm cheeses, with«light basil». This was very good — I wished the inner most points on the pie were crunchier, but the flavor was there for me. Although the menu stated«light basil» or something of the sort, I was pleasantly surprised at how much arrived on my pizza, and how the basil really came through with each piece. I did wish that my pizza was cooked a little further; it didn’t really achieve that wood fired taste that I was looking for. My friend created her own pizza with their garlic oil, herb ricotta and asiago and chicken. I tried it and although tasty, the chicken was virtually flavorless and visually unappealing. I’m biased though, as I don’t love ricotta on pizza. One thing that did turn me off was the mention of no substitutions on the specialty pizzas. I understand trying to control this, but so many of the pizzas sounded good save for one ingredient, and I think it would be beneficial for them to be more flexible with one substitution. Overall, good food, but for how hyped this place is, I was left feeling like the food was good, but nothing too special.

Unilocaled for gluten-free food in the area and came up with this. We were really glad we stopped. The gluten-free pizza is very small, and certainly not enough for two hungry people. It’s kind of like a personal pizza from that Hut store, but very thin crusted(think paper cut). It had great flavor and texture. Made me realize that pizza is actually good despite being gluten-free. Great hostess. Waiter that was assigned to us was either new or nervous. He started out the conversation with«We have specials.» LONGPAUSE. «Do you want to hear them? Nice enough kid, but didn’t seem quite in his element yet. Service was decent, we would definitely go back and DH would even order gluten free pizza without being prompted.
