When I think of Southern hospitality, all i have to recall to mind is the amazing hosts of this little decadent gem in the heart of Victoria, Texas. Tired of feeling like a number in huge chain hotels, we decided to give the bed & breakfast option a chance in this quite picturesque town. It is located some 30 miles off the Gulf of Mexico and it hosts some grand colonial houses(which are part of a tourist trail, believe it or not). We just knocked on the front door of this quite charming house and were greated by a very welcoming and sweet couple. We were immediately given the grand tour of the house and shown 3 options for our lodging. Each room had a separate theme(and price) and, the owners proudly informed us that many of the furniture had been self-built. Please, bear in mind this is an historical house, which means it may not possess all the latest amenities. However, that is exactly what a B&B is all about: authenticity and hospitality. Their breakfast was to DIEFOR!!! German pancakes and turtle(fresh fruits displayed in the shape of a turtle). Coffe, tea and warm milk. I would recommend both for short and long term stay. And, do NOT hesitate to ask them for information and tips, they have plenty to give!

Such an awesome place! The breakfast was absolutely incredible, strawberry soup and german pancakes. The room we stayed in was called«Thrifty Scott», a lot of neat books about scotland were in the mini library that is in the room. Everything was really clean, and the hosts were especially accommodating. I highly recommend this place.

Overgrown exterior, dusty cluttered interior. Breakfast was a cold chile relleno caserole and something called a turtle. Hosts ate dinner on tv trays in the foyer. Just awful.
