Taco Tuesdays, wing Wednesday, half of all burgers on Thursday, all awesome deals and great food. Not a dive bar recently upgraded to cater to the whole family. Great local place.

First impression: WOW. It was packed with families when we walked in about 6:45. In fact, there weren’t any empty tables available so we had to wait a minute for one to be cleaned. (Which the waitress was immediately on it). While we were waiting, my 16 year old daughter started talking about the classy look… especially how the ceiling no longer had missing tiles nor wires poking out everywhere.
Then we noticed that although it was packed, it was CLEAN. Floors were clean of food and napkins, dishes were not pilled up on any tables, etc. ¹⁰⁄₁₀
Service: for a packed restaurant it was ok. Our drink order was taken 15 minutes after we sat. We also ordered chips. Drinks came at 28 minutes but chips never came so I asked for them and waitress immediately brought them with another beer for me. She didn’t realize they already brought me a beer so she just left it. (I didn’t drink it but was still charged for it. …no big deal). Food order taken at 36^th minute. at As our meal went on, our service got better. She was attentive to the kids drinks and we ordered to-​go tacos in two different time frames. She was quick at the end and the place was still busy. ⁶⁄₁₀
Food: Taco night was great. Chicken street, Carne street, reg beef, shrimp and Mahi tacos were all good. The mahi was a little salty but still good. The shrimp were amazing! ⁹⁄₁₀
Thorneys has really changed the atmosphere and attitude with the new ownership. I am happy to say I will be bringing my family back as we no longer felt like we didn’t belong (my last complaint stated that they only served the regulars). We saw several familiar faces in there and look forward to continuing to support our local restaurants. Great job Dave!

Thornys went above and beyond and transformed the older sports bar into a very nice sports bar. It’s so awesome to have such a nice place so close to home. From the beautiful bar top to the booths and illumination all around, this is a awesome spot to come hang out and have a couple cold ones. And you can have breakfast or lunch or dinner. This is a win win. Andrew is also an awesome bartender and always is friendly and quick to serve you. Great place the new owners did a great job A+++

My son had a soccer tournament today (superbowl) & we wanted to find a place to catch the 2^nd half of the game. Found this place on Unilocal and decided to check it out. We are SO happy we did! Spoke with April on the phone asking if there was room and she was super nice! Walked in and we were able to get a booth. There were food and drink specials which are always welcome. Food was so good! There was also a raffle for some football jerseys and we were able to buy some tickets. Place had a great vibe and it was kid friendly. There’s a room in the back with a big screen and an arcade for the kids. Our waitress Jenna was super cool and so were the other two gals that came by to check on us. We would happily return if we were ever in the area. Oh… and they had dessert (not on the menu) which were oreo churros and fried oreos. Not the healthiest but so good! Churros needed something to dip and when we mentioned it to our fab waitress, she brought us some whipped cream and caramel. Great customer service so far!

I had chips & salsa, some wings and the NY strip. Amazing food, environment and service.

5 stars for the amazing, attentive and accommodating staff. The bar was undergoing construction on our visit but it was still filled to the brim with people ready to watch the Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm fight.
Earlier in the day we called all the restaurants and bars in the Barstow area and nobody was showing the fight. We had a climbing camping weekend planned but did not want to miss out on this matchup. The 5 star Unilocal reviews and the fact that they were showing the fight with no cover charge made this spot worth our hour long trek away from our campsite and gathered friends.
Can we talk about the fight? It was amazing! So cool to watch it with other fans and experience the mad upset in the room as Holly Holm knocked out the champ.

Great spot for food and football. Burgers are good and they have fried Oreo’s and snickers. Nice staff. The building itself needs to be remodeled but it works for now!

Awesome food! .39 wings on Wednesday with over 20 kinds including sweet chili and Jack Daniels whiskey. Great salads and a good selection of beer. The Bloody Mary’s are the best and its just down the street. It’s like Cheers and we love it!

Been here over 30 times and still going weekly. Many reviews we read are great but not showing. Mostly are good reviews. I will tell you that every business will have a bad day, and maybe just a bad hour. They are great. Good food, best wings, best tacos for best prices!

Great daily food and drink specials. Mellow atmosphere, bartenders/​servers are super attentive and top-​notch. They always host major sports events UFC/​Playoffs/​Monday night football, etc…
Taco Tuesday’s great-​steak, chik, shredded/​ground beef, shrimp tacos for .99c. Wednesday wings .59c, 20 flavors.
I’m a fit guy but when it’s time to grub… My absolute favorite is Shoddy’s heart attack burger! Double seasoned patty, triple Bacon, triple cheese, pastrami, onion rings, fried egg, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onion. It’s by-​far the BEST burger I’ve had, coast-​to-​coast. My go-​to fav’s In-​n-​out, but when I want a treat… nothing beats this burger!

This place is awesome!!! Now under new the ownership. The food is good and the beer is cold. Definitely my favorite hang out in the entire high desert and not just because it’s the best neighborhood and close to home
