Terrible carry-out. Channa Masala — so thick w/grease(oil?) I used a spoon to skim it off the top. The Channa was brown and bland, no tomatoes. Maybe it’s regional, but the grease was terrible. An order of Samosas is 4 tiny pastries. Naan was the best part of the meal. In from out of town, won’t be back.

Real user review. I went there with 4 more friends. Let me start the review by saying — Worst food ever. And the icing on the cake is — buffet is 20 $ which is totally overpriced compared to the quality and taste of the food. The food was so bad, I had to download the Unilocal app to write a review about it. And for the first time ever, I gave $ 0.00 tip and wrote a note on the receipt. Thanks for ruining our mood with your horrible food. Wish I could give 0 stars.

Run of the mill desi banquet hall/restaurant. Went for a comedy event offering a limited dinner buffet in the banquet room which was deceptively small relative to the gargantuan size of the building. The restaurant was attached and offering a 16 tray variety buffet. Lead staff seemed unorganized and blasé. Wait staff removed used tableware quickly and efficiently however. The food. It wasn’t the worst I’ve had but it wasn’t standout in any way either. Classically over-oiled and over-creamed North Indian staple party dishes were served lukewarm(probably recycled from lunch buffet.). The suji halwa was my favorite part. Comfort food(that butter tho) and not too sweet. The bartender was a happy and efficient type despite the chaotic crowds and there was ample parking in the back lot which I really appreciated. The event was good overall but the sound system was having issues periodically and a few performers almost fell off the stage because it was so poorly constructed. I don’t picture myself ever returning for the restaurant itself since it just wasn’t special in any way. The comedy show is recommended.

We went in for the first time and did the buffet so we got to try a little bit of everything. You definitely have to pick and choose what you get because some items were a hit but most were a miss. The bread was good, the desert was good, the tandoori chicken was good, and the pakoras were okay. Their tamarind sauce was very good but everything else was very bland and lacked flavor. The atmosphere is nice but the prices are way too expensive for the quality of food.

Just Don’t! Trust me, Just Don’t go here. Even if they give you discount, Groupon, LivingSocial etc, still Don’t go. Its just not worth it. This place is like that boutique shop which sells you cloths purchased from discount stores at ridiculous price and then offer discount to make you feel good about it. We ran into this place for Lunch as we were in hurry. Lunch buffet was decent and had okay choices and priced at I think $ 12. Next I see is a groupon for Dinner so decided to buy it. What a horrible mistake it was. Groupon was for $ 40 for two people. We went on Friday night thinking we can order from menu and get a good food. Alas, they don’t allow ordering from menu on Friday. This is the one and only Indian Restaurant I found which doesn’t allow ordering from menu for dinner. Okay, fine. Since we were already there we decided to go for buffet. Turns out Buffet costs $ 20 per person. At that price, One should expect a good selection. But that wasn’t the case. They had half the choices they provide for lunch buffet. The food was cold. The appetizers were almost empty but no one filled out for entire 30 mins we were there. The desserts had only one option with no selection. The Chana Chole were just boiled Chana with salted gravy. The Kadhi Pakoda had Pakoda which were undercooked. The Puris in Pani-Puri were stale and so was Bhel. All and all, Food which was probably leftover from lunch buffet was being served as dinner buffet at double the price. We basically spent ~$ 25(due to groupon discount) and tax, but walked out of there without eating. The only saving grace was that we didn’t have to pay full $ 20 buffet price. That would have been even more painful. Never again. Considering all the wonderful choices one have in NOVA for Indian food, this place has to be at the bottom of all of them. So let me say it again. JUSTDON’T!

Excellent lunch buffet, wide range of dishes. Naan, lamb, and biryani are a must try. They make their own soda which is certainly worth it. Service was very friendly and quick. The only reason I am giving it a 4 is because of the terrible parking situation.

Dum Pukht dishes are really good. They take a long time to make. If you are going ahead of time, let them know that you are ordering this. Dum Dal Makani has a great flavor. I also ordered the spinach dish and veggie dum and meat dum kabobs. The biriyani dum is also supposed to be good but I have not had a chance to try that. I have eaten just their chat and their chicken tikka wrap with egg. Both were pretty good but not as good as the Dum Pukht. I’m not tried the dinner buffet. The restaurant is kind of pricey since it’s in the Tysons area

I was here for Paint Nite DC, which was awesome. I wanted to order Chicken tikka masala and they didn’t know what I was talking about… is that not an Indian dish? I guess not lol. I got the Tandoori Murga which was ok. The winner was the garlic naan. I can eat bread all day lol. Overall, the food was ok. I’ve had better.

First shot at Indian food! I really enjoyed this place. It’s definitely pricey but the food was delicious and worth it in my opinion, even though my friends thought differently. The service was very nice, the food dishes barely stayed empty on our table, the servers continuously refilled our water cups and brought out new plates. Each meal had its own plate and silverware. Honestly I don’t remember the names of any of the dishes we ordered but they were GOOOOOOOD! I’ve attached a lot of photos for you to look at. The only complaint I have is that the butter chicken’s chicken was chewy, like plastic almost. It just didn’t taste right to me at all so I didn’t eat it. OMG… Their dessert was heavenly!!! My favorite and probably the ONLY dish I will have from now on at any Indian restaurant will be the shahi tukda!!! The BEST dessert I’ve EVER had!

The one weekday we guys went to this place and never knew that hospitality can be jinxed in such fashion. They got us chicken tandoori instead of zafrani chicken and when we informed the server regarding the same, he called his manager who seemed to be drunk and was quite rude to us while his employee was trying to inform him the actual issue. So for weekdays it’s a strict no no from me.

It’s a quite nice India restaurant because there are a lot India people eat there. The lamb shank is great, even my 2 year old daughter loves it.

Brought in by Groupon. Food is average; people are loud. For buffet they have a lot of variety; just the food is not great and price is high without groupon.

Went there for dinner buffet. Glad I had a groupon otherwise I would have cursed myself for paying so much for average food. They had very limited options. The biryani was OK. Though Ok, it was still the best compared to other dishes. All the gravies were very dry and lacked flavor. They had limited deserts. Ras malai tasted as if it was straight out of packet.

Diya is located near my office and it is the only reason why I would go. In fact, pretty much the only time we go is if the weather is really bad and we don’t want to walk too far in the cold. The food is just average. There isn’t a lot of selection. It is overpriced. Especially when you consider some of the options nearby(Super Chicken comes to mind).

I’ve heard good things about the buffet but this review is for dinner. I had the butter chicken which I thought was decent, the naan bread was good as well. I was very disappointed by the kulfi falooda. The noodles for the kulfi falooda was very thick and had no flavor to it. There was very little rose syrup so it makes the noodle harder to consume since it’s tasteless. The Kulfi had ice chips in it so it was mixed feeling while eating it. I may be bias since I’ve had kulfi falooda from Tooso which has spoiled me. Service was fast and there was little wait time on a weekday dinner. Our server was polite and attentive. Overall positive experience and will come back and try the buffet that everyone rave about

Diya is by far my favorite Indian place in the area. My boyfriend and I have dined there many times for the lunch buffet. We recently ate there on a Sunday evening and were pleasantly surprised to learn there is a dinner buffet. However, the cheapest time to eat is Monday — Friday, lunch buffet(for only $ 12 per person). On weekends and evenings, t’s $ 20 per person, and the food selection doesn’t make up for the price.(Note: There are Groupons available for $ 22 for $ 40 worth of food for 2 people or $ 42 for $ 80 for 4 people; it would be wise to purchase if planning on dinner at Diya.) Diya has everything you’d expect at an Indian buffet with 4−−6 vegetarian main dishes, plus salads and appetizers. There’s also plenty for non-vegetarian diners. Compared to your typical Indian buffet, Diya is larger with more variety. The food has always been flavorful and spicy. The naan is fresh and hot. Recently, we tried the garlic naan, which was amazing. There have been a few times I didn’t like some of the options(a paneer dish and a spinach dish), but that’s to be expected. I believe the quality of the food was fine, just not to my liking. Regarding service, it has always been attentive and well-paced. My boyfriend and I will continue to dine at Diya for their amazing lunch buffet.

I know my food and I know my Indian food pretty well. Sadly this place disappoints. The chicken was dry. Mango lassi was more like run down water flavored with artificial mango. How can one screw up mango lassi? The biggest one for me was not having tandoori chicken in the buffet. Absolutely not impressed! Ambience was good and the staff were awesome so here is the two stars for it!

Finally tried Diya last Sunday afternoon. This place was packed with a graduation celebration in the party room. Minus the event, it seemed to be almost exclusively Indian folks in the restaurant. We conspicuously stood out as non-Indians considering we were seated in the bar area as family after family most of whom were Indians poured into the restaurant. We decided to do the AYCE buffet, and while there was a descent selection and the food ranged from good to okay, $ 20 is just ridiculously expensive. Then again, this is Tysons Corner and the interior and décor felt a little more luxurious than your standard Indian restaurant. In terms of the foods we sampled, I thought the flavor was great, but the one thing that was absolutely disappointing was the dry chicken meat. It seemed every bite of chicken I had was white breast meat which was quite dry. Moist dark meat would have been perfect. I supposed it shouldn’t be that big of a deal, but at $ 20, I’m expecting a little more perfection. All in all, we left very full and satisfied. Not sure I will be coming back though for the buffet: perhaps to order off the menu though.

I’ve been here twice for the lunch buffet now. The hours state that they open at 11:00, but the lunch buffet actually doesn’t open until 11:30. I made the mistake of arriving too early the first time. The food is really tasty and flavorful. The butter chicken wasn’t as tender today as it was last week, but it was still really good. They have a nice variety of proteins and veggies. I’m not into fried foods but they have an impressive selection. They also offer a couple of deserts. The weekday lunch buffet is $ 12 which seems to be the going rate around here. The interior of this place is fancy. Crystal chandeliers and what have you. They also use nice silverware compared to other Indian buffets. This will probably be my new go-to indian restaurant for lunch.
