Giant

I was checking out in one of the self-​checkout lanes and an employee offered to help me! I was also greeted.
Fairly good prices. Compare Goya black beans for $ 1.09 while at Harris Teeter they are $ 1.49. Sales in the produce section for Giant card holders. Unfortunately, because of a sale, they ran out of the bagged kale. Bananas were on sale for 4/​$ 1. Target sells bananas at $.24/​each. So, good prices and great variety in the produce section particularly.
Spacious, clean store with ample parking.

Nice clean grocery store. The international aisle has British foods, so that was a great find for an Anglophile. They’re pretty laid back, when the self checkout machine I was using froze during the credit card process in December, they told me that either it went through, or it was a gift from Giant. The Redbox movie rental machine is pretty sweet. It’s basically the best deal for movies that I’ve seen. They have new releases & it’s just $ 1 a night.
The butchers here are awful (they leave tons of fat on everything), but if you come when they’re working, you can choose something from the fridge cases and they’ll debone/​remove fat/​whatever and rewrap the item for you.

I love Giant… they usually have lots of sales and better sales than some grocery stores… sometimes, you can get things for real cheap… Francesco Rinaldi pasta sauce for $ 1, yellow peaches for 99 cents a pound, etc. They also sell discounted bakery items since they «overbake». Check those out if you want to try some store made cookies or muffins, but don’t want to pay full price.
If there’s ever a mistake on your receipt, just show it to the person at the Customer Service place and if they actually made a mistake, you can get your item for free.
It’s also really nice and clean here, and they have a bakery, deli, an internation food aisle, and more.
They also have a self-​checkout here, and it’s pretty fun.
Giant has weekly sales, so check it out on the website if you don’t get it mailed to you.
