I came to know of Soma Solutions by way of a Living Social ad. I called a couple of times, sent an email and then received a call back.(I suspect they were busy with response to the ad perhaps.) I was excited about the program and happy to get the call back. I explained I wanted to know more about their One Revolution Wellness Package; what would the time investment be, would it be appropriate for me and my 16 yr-old, meeting times, et cetera. I explained why I was interested in the program and things seem to be going fine until I explained that I am a health industry professional and currently enrolled in a Sports Nutrition class in a university. All the sudden I wasn’t a fit. «Ooh. Yeah, I don’t think you’ll fit our program. We are geared more towards finding food that makes you feel good.» I asked for clarification why I wouldn’t fit. «Well … we aim for teaching you how to listen to what your brain tells you to eat and not necessarily what you should eat before or after a workout.» So I suggested an analogy of, «If I eat a plate of lasagna and I feel good about it, then is that it?» The response was, «Well, that’s really an over-simplification.» Without a comprehensible response, other than she thought the program wouldn’t work for me, I then asked for an example of what the program does offer. I said, «Okay, would you mind giving me an example?» I was told that there was nothing more to be said to me if I didn’t understand already. Well you can imagine how I felt about that. Based on the«we’ll find out what food makes you happy» approach and the inability to answer questions or refusal to offer explanation of their program, I won’t be calling or recommending Soma Solutions to any of my friends or family. If you are a person who expects professional service then my advice is to make sure the person you are speaking to is professionally certified and registered with the state and county where you live for the services they are selling to you. Enough said?
