One thing that I miss about living in L.A. is how inexpensive alterations and a «simple hem» can be… because nowhere in the DC area can I find a tailor(or even a random dry cleaner!) that can do a $ 6-regular hem on a pair of dress pants. It’s a travesty, I know! But that issue aside, I have reached a point in my life where I don’t necessary let price dictate where I go to have services done. I am more interested in the quality of the work done. I’ve gone to many random, and highly-recommended tailors who have ruined pairs of premium denim. But I have yet to be disappointed in the workmanship at Tailorcraft. I honestly walk into this place each time, and politely greet the seamstresses in what might be the worst hangul ever. But let me tell you, those ladies’ faces light up when I greet them with a smiley«annyeong-haseyo,» or leave with a polite«kamsahamnida.» I think I’ve even gotten a tiny discount before because of it! All I have to do is walk right in, tell them how many inches I need off a pair of pants(or jeans), and I am always extremely satisfied with both the work and the length. More recently, I decided to have some«serious» work done(had to take in a pair of dress pants & a suit jacket), and just a quick 5 minutes with the seamstresses soon turned into a nicely(and better) fitting suit. At the end of the day, the prices aren’t super-super great, but given the area, they are definitely competitive. And now that they’ve improved the working space(which is shared with their shoe-cobbler business), it seems so much better for both the seamstresses and the customers. Given that I work around the corner from Tysons Corner Center, this place is an easy place for me to get to; definitely my area go to spot for a «sure-thing» alteration. 3.75 stars!(Even though I can only hit 3 stars total. Ha.)
