I ordered the spicy beef hua phở and asked for medium spicy, which ends up to be not that spicy(I will ask for hot next time). The portion is ok, definitely enough for dinner. My husband ordered the aroma bun cold noodle salad which is really good. I may order that one next time. The price is a bit on the higher side comparing to phở sate in Dunn loring or eaton center but it is not bad. I will come back again for the convenience. The waitress was really nice. She mentioned about soft shell crab special and the next table ordered it and it looks good.

Mostly just an average meal. For the app, I got the shrimp toast which was good. For the entrée, I ordered the lemongrass chicken clay pot, since they were already out of their quail special. The chicken was either underdone or rubbery which was a little of a turn off for me. Also the entrée as a whole had very little texture besides the chicken(note to chef: maybe add some broccoli to soak up the juices, or even some bamboo shoots… be a little creative please!) However, I see some potential for this place if it can get its act together.

Almost didn’t eat here because of the old strip mall this restaurant is a part of. However so happy I did. The inside is very clean and inviting. The food was full of flavor. Highly recommend the ginger chicken. It was so yummy. Great service too! I will definitely eat here again when I’m in the area.

This place is one of my favorites for viet food around the area. The little something special about this place comes in at the taste buds, they offer a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes that rarely will ever leave anyone in disappointment. It’s a little ma and pa place and it tastes like it. The prices are a tad steep but if you realize the cost of operating in Vienna you can easily see why you don’t see any of these small places anymore in this town. My favorite dish here is drunken noodles, nobody has drunken noodles with such a wonderful gently sweet sauce that gives the warm tingle of chili in the back of your tongue. You can ask for dishes spicier and they are only to happy to make it that way for you(yes they’ll happily make you sweat.) I recommend the dinner portions as I feel the lunch portions are sometimes a tad small. Other dishes that are great there: Claypot fish, Claypot black pepper pork, shaky beef, fried snapper when available, pork chop on broken rice, and of course the eggplant tilapia. The only thing I won’t eat there is the phở based soups, while its not bad it’s just that style of phở that’s super clean and gently sweet with herbs, which sticks with their fresh theme but hurts inside to all of us hangover phở addicts.(Not as bad as four sisters phở though! Four sisters phở is awful.) All and all, I spent lots of time in Annandale with viet places all around, yet I come here 90% of the time.

I really couldn’t rate this place higher! Definitely recommend trying them out for the first time, or trying again if you had a mediocre experience in the past. That just couldn’t be the norm based on the quality of our service and food. I ordered online for pick up. When I got there, the staff promptly greeted me, was very friendly, and assured me that my order was being made so as to be hot and fresh at the pick up time. I was offered a beverage while I waited the few minutes. It was ready exactly when I specified. We ordered the beef phở(one spicy and one not), as well as the chicken salad. They even made sure to point out the dish with the extra fresh chili. The food smelled amazing(and fresh, like you could literally smell the herbs and veggies), and tasted great.

I came here due to the positive Unilocal reviews. I agree with fellow Unilocalers, the service is on point, they are very friendly! I got the beef vermillion phở, it was very good and the herb garnishes were so fresh! I will say this, they asked how spicy on a scale of 1 – 4 I wanted, I chose a 3 and did not think it was at all spicy, I ended up adding Siracha. Will be back, thank you!

Best phở EVER. Most amazing service, fresh ingredients, NO msg, and all around amazing experience. I’ve been to a chain phở restaurant and was not impressed. Here was a whole different story. I will start coming once a week. Our service was fantastic. I got the fresh summer rolls and the tofu and veggie phở. Both were fabulous!!! Can’t wait to go back.

Always love eating here when we are in the area. Food is great and the owners are a delight! Don’t pass up the opportunity to enjoy a meal here. Pro Tip — if you like it hot, ask for their homemade chili paste!!!

We happened to find this restaurant while we were looking for some takeout to bring to our friends as a thank you for watching our dog. We ordered a variety of food using the Unilocal ordering feature — it worked, but next time we’ll call to save time. When I arrived the food wasn’t quite ready so the very friendly staff offered me a drink and a seat while I waited. Of the 5 dishes we ordered, the Hanoi pork was my favorite. We also ordered the Lotus Salad — it was tasty, but the Shrimp Chips had lost their crisp — I’m not sure if they were stale or if they got moist and then dried out — either way they were inedible. The food is good, but the price is a bit steep at just under $ 80. This is the only Vietnamese game in that part of town, so if you’re craving some give it a try.

Very decent Vietnamese food if you’re in Vienna — a bit on the pricey side but definitely authentic. We ordered the: 1. Tilapia and eggplant– so yummy! And wonderful spice! Would def get again! 2. Ginger lemongrass clay pot chicken– super flavorful with the lemongrass 3. A bun dish– I think it was the Hanoi pork which the boys liked eating 4. Bo luc lac– not the best I’ve had– but good 5. Lotus salad– again not the best I’ve had but good and boiled shrimp on top with shrimp chips Total was almost $ 80 which was enough food for 4 hungry ppl. It’s good for Vienna but you could probably find comparable if you’re in Eden center and also a bit cheaper. We ordered using the Unilocal eat app which was cool bc it had a clock timer to show when the food was ready.

This is my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant. It’s closer to home, very clean(and yes, NO food smell that sticks to your clothes when you leave), has excellent friendly service, and good value for money. My favorites are their crispy roll and clay pot fish(I ask for a sweeter version of their original). I’ve tried a duck dish and that was also delicious. For a party last Saturday, I had catering trays delivered to our home. The items arrived on time, fresh and hot. The person who delivered the food even took the time to explain to me the best way to serve/heat the items. I recommend this restaurant for both dine-in and catering.

Just get the phở. If you get the phở, you will be happy. We love this place, but we’ve tried a few other menu items and haven’t been that pleased. the phở is fresh and delicious and satisfying and super affordable.

My friend and I had the lunch special. You get a decent sized bowl of phở, a roll(either the fresh or the fried kind), and a soda drink all for $ 10. It’s a great value and I would recommend it to anyone. The phở itself is good. For reference, I have never had a bowl of phở that I thought was outstandingly better than all others. As long as it’s fresh and not greasy, it’s good(I should also say that I’m Vietnamese). If I was only reviewing the food, I would probably give this restaurant 4 stars. However, the lunch deal is so good that I’ve given it 5.

Wow wow wow! What a great find. Came here just because and I’m so happy I did. Finally after like 10+ years caramel fish! Yes you read that right. That is something that I’ve had a hard time finding after I had it years ago. Can I say I’m glad I found it and better that it was just as good as I remember. They have all kinds of yummy options here even phõ, so I can’t wait to try more. The service was excellent and super friendly. I felt like I was eating dinner at my friends house and his mom was cooking. Yeah that type of atmosphere, loved it. If your in the mood for phõ check them out, I think you may change your mind with the options they have.

Just ordered their summer roll and it was pretty good. They were friendly towards me. I ordered take-out and they prepared everything pretty quickly. I also liked their pineapple coconut boba drink. Haven’t gotten to the noodle soup yet so I can’t comment on that for now ;). I would recommend them; you should give it a try and form your own opinions. I just heated up the noodle soup(was in fridge overnight) and it was good. I would have liked to see more tripe in the mix but it tasted fine overall, fresh mint etc., soup base was great, and the portion was generous and like any other phở place I’ve ever tried.

Update: Unilocal has some informative reviewers, that’s for sure! I learned the raw meat is served with the soup under the guise that you will add it to the soup and then heat it up. Hmmm– not sure I like the sound of that! ;-) To each their own but I will definitely order vegetarian from now on. I ordered some take-out here last weekend while I was recovering from flu 2k15, and I am afraid I was a little confused… when I got home, I discovered that there was a bag of uncooked meat in my order(steak I presume, since that is what I ordered with my Lemongrass Phở), by which I was completely perplexed. I ended up throwing it away the next day because I was still not feeling up for cooking– and didn’t have the energy to cook it up, which would have been odd to begin with– especially since it didn’t specify anywhere on their menu that you would receive raw meat. Like I said, I may be confused and perhaps that is a delicacy. The soup itself– raw meat aside– was pretty flavorful and came with all the usual suspects– sprouts, green peppers, some sauce on the side. All in all, I may order the Lemongrass Phở again, minus meat this time. This is a restaurant I should probably give another chance, given the initial circumstances. Review will be edited in the near future!

This is my go to place for Bun Bo Hue. It is the perfect soup for a cold winter day or if you are sick. Their broth is so flavorful, perfectly spicy and the beef is so tender. I always get carry out and I love how everything is packaged separately. You even get a bowl to pour the soup into! So cute! Disclaimer: I always order this soup without the pigs feet and pork blood(I’m not very authentic). This place doesn’t include these items in their soup which is perfect for me! The interior is small but very clean and more modern than your typical hole in the wall vietnamese restaurant. The staff is so friendly and truly value your feedback.

I was feeling like Asian for lunch with my daughter today, and we settled on Vietnamese. Viet Aroma is close by in Vienna, and I didn’t feel like trekking to Eden Center in Falls Church, or dealing with parking at Mosaic for Four Sisters. So, we decided to give Viet Aroma a try. Very glad we did! Back story — I went on a 2 week vacation to Vietnam with my brother this spring(2014). We visited Saigon, Hoi An, Hue, Ha Long Bay and Hanoi. While in Hanoi, our tour guide took a few of us foodie, adventurous types to a street food Bun Cha restaurant — WOW! We were hooked, seriously. Lo and behold, Viet Aroma has Bun Cha Ha Noi on the menu. I don’t see that often at other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, since so many proprietors are from Saigon and South Vietnam. What is Bun Cha Ha Noi? It has several key ingredients — rice noodles, lettuce for wrapping, herbs(mint and basil), grilled pork patties and grilled sliced pork, served in a lukewarm dipping broth. Method of eating: dip some noodles in the broth, place on lettuce wrap, place pork on wrap, then herbs, roll up, place in mouth and nosh. It’s OK to close your eyes and savor the interplay of flavors. Repeat. Does it match my memory of Bun Cha in Hanoi? Almost. They get a lot of things right here. What was missing? The little Vietnamese grandma sitting by the charcoal hibachi pulling fresh grilled pork to go in the broth, and finely sliced Thai bird chilis for those that like a little more fire. Price? ~$ 11.00 — Reasonable and good value for the money. Although when you’re in Hanoi, it’s only about $ 2.00. Of course, in Hanoi you can also buy a steaming bowl of phở for $ 1.50, and bottle of beer to wash it down for $ 1.00. My daughter ordered the lunch box grill with grilled chicken skewers, rice and salad. She loved her lunch and would definitely come back. We will definitely return to try some of their other unique dishes!
