We recently visited the island of Vinalhaven Maine and had the opportunity to visit the Vinalhaven Historical Society. The historical society displays a vast array of artifacts of island life through the early years, with an emphasis on the granite production days. I had the opportunity and pleasure to meet the President of the museum, Bill Chilles who took time out of his busy schedule to give us a tour of the gallery. The exhibits were so well laid out, that it made you feel like you were walking back in time through the streets of Vinalhaven in the early days. Rest assured the islands past will be preserved for future generations with the dedication and perseverance of the Vinalhaven Historical Society team.
