It’s bargain basement hunting. You have to be willing to dig. Sometimes I find things I like, and sometimes I don’t.

I feel as though this place not only refuses to improve to compete with other thrift stores, it downright decreases in quality on a yearly basis. There aren’t even mirrors in the changing rooms anymore. They don’t organize by size, or even mark sizes, which makes sorting through the packed racks a chore. The prices are quite higher than expected for many clothing and furniture items. The place is dingy and in need of a deep cleaning.

The Salvation Army Thrift Store is housed in what was once the haunt of my youth– the old roller rink. It breaks my heart a little bit every time I go there… but go there I do. You can still get great deals at Salvation Army. They even have sales according to the color of the tags. They’ve got lots of great vintage and retro stuff, as well as a funky selection of housewears. The store is a little shabby, and could use a good clean, but it’s AUTHENTIC. Love it.
