I love this iconic Island spot for Breakfast and Lunch and when the Art Cliff food truck opens for the Summer, it too is a must! Great staff too!

Sweet, cozy place for breakfast. Service is so so(meals arriving at very different tines, things like sides and beverages forgotten, then delivered when the meal was over). Corned beef hash made from chopped lunch meat corned beef, greasy, potatoes. Considering few places were open on January 2, a positive experience.

I just had the best breakfast at Art Cliff! Started with the Lemon Ricotta Donuts! Very similar to New Orleans style beignets with just s touch of sweetness. Then I loved my order of Crab Cake Benedict with poached eggs over arugula, tomato and purple onions. My new go to order if it is ever on the menu!

Not impressed ordered the egg and salmon sandwich. Out of whole wheat bread, then the bread that they served was hard as a rock. I sat at the counter one foot from scones not covered, out in the open for someone to sneeze on or touch. See photo.

Waited outside for over an hour and saw everyone else who had arrived after us get seated. Wasn’t up for a game of seating roulette so we ended up leaving. Bummer we couldn’t enjoy the food everything recommends, but the service(or lack of) was just as important to us.

This little restaurant is exceptional for breakfast! I highly recommend going there if ever in Vineyard Haven. It gets busy so plan on getting there early if possible and prepare for a wait but it’s well worth it! I ended up buying chef Regina’s homemade jams to give as gifts, the berries were from the island! My husband had Eggs Benedict and I had the special Apple Pecan pancakes, delicious all of it! Went back again before we left for ANOTHER terrific breakfast! Well done staff!

You know that feeling when you look around and everything else people are eating looks so much better than your meal? I think I just ordered wrong. It seems like the sweet dishes are the way to go! I ordered an omelet trying to be healthier for breakfast and soon regretted it when I saw everything else being served. My omelet wasn’t bad, and it came with a side of hash browns, I always hate breakfast places that don’t come with a side. This place definitely gets crowded so come early! We came at 8 and had no wait but when we were leaving there was a line. As we were finishing up they brought out their scones and those looked like the most amazing scones I had ever seen! They were the size of my face and homemade. Art Cliff is a staple here so make sure you visit when you come to the island, and order their scones!

Great ambiance. Good quality ingredients. Execution was poor though. Corned beef hash is basically their home fries with some corned beef chunks in it very dry and not much flavor. Avocado and black bean crêpe was again really dry. Had to order sour cream on side to dip in as my wife wasn’t even going to eat it. The sour cream made it a lot better but they would do well to just pair it with a side of sour cream or salsa. Eggs Benedict was pretty good with a unique version of hollandaise that seemed to have a good deal of melted cheese in it. Home fries were forgettable. Service was poor for us as we kept having to ask the other waitresses if they could tell ours to get more coffee, hot sauce and the check. The other waitresses seemed very attentive and friendly so our service experience is probably not the norm.

I look forward to my breakfast at this lovely restaurant all winter long when I am not on the island. My favorite remains The Green Monster. Today we has the special, Grilled Banana Bread. Yummy! This place never disappoints!

This place is amazing you have to come early else you won’t have a place to sit and wait for 45 mins lol I think they should get buzzers. The staff were friendly not really attentive my cup sat vacant without soda the duration of my meal. The food was phenomenal I got the pancakes again the best in al of Massachusetts trust me. I couldn’t eat it all had I tried I would probably be laying on the side of a road in vineyard haven I could eat here day. The prices are reasonable based on servings

Consistently excellent. Great food and a surprising selection on the menu. My wife is committed to the(huge) bacon and cheddar crêpe but I bounce around — last time getting the huavos rancheros(sp?) which came with black beans, chorizo, and a spicy guac /salsa thing — all made fresh. The cod cakes are also great as are the specials. If you’re on the Vineyard, you should definitely schedule at least one breakfast or lunch here. Being a paper — the wait is often long for a table!

Still a great diner! We were lucky enough to have a reasonable wait today! From what I understand, anything under 45 minutes is a win! The service is terrific, the food is fantastic. We had: Eggs, bacon, cheddar and waffles — delicious! Poached egg over corned beef hash — perfection We really love this diner. If you can get in, you won’t be disappointed!!!

We came here back in May. This is the one place I really, really wanted to go that I had read about. They had a sign that said they would open 5⁄8 which was a Saturday. I am not sure what happened but they were not open that day. *heartbreak* Fortunately they were open Sunday the 9th so we got there and yes we did wait but it was worth the wait. It is a cute space that has original elements and décor harkening back to when they first opened int he 40s.(One guidebook said that the present owner was formerly a pastry chef at Blair House but I am not sure if this is still the case) This is one of the times when you really have to make some tough choices because everything on the menu looks tasty. I ended up getting the Black Bean cakes. I don’t remember what my Mom got but we also shared a scone. The food was tasty and the staff was really nice and vigilant.(which I am sure is challenging as the summer goes on!)

I must say, Art Cliff Diner is truly worth the wait. Especially for first time visitors. This is a lovely little diner with exceptional food and service. They do not rush you here not matter how busy they appear. Great coffee, pots of tea, fresh squeezed juice and freshly baked goods. On my next visit I will go early on a week day just to avoid all the other first timers like I was!

This was the best breakfast of my life. We settled into two bar seats as the place was slammed 1245. Staff are so accommodating and friendly. I had scrambled eggs over a Quinoa Sweet Potato Hash sort of dish. WOWSA. The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy delish. My man had honey and blueberry crepes and loaded home fries. DEARGOD, is this food legal? Can’t wait to go back. it’s insane.

Great huevos rancheros. My wife had the smokin in the shower(smoked salmon, Bagel, lox) and loved it. Portions were very big and it was a bit pricey, but that’s the same every where in the cape in the summer. I thought the service was very good. Not sure why some are complaining. I have a tip for the tourists. Be nice, it goes a long way with the wait staff. They were all very friendly to us, even though I saw some pretty rude customer behavior.

The food was great. It’s from farm to table. We had the bullseye, that has a delish codfish cake at the bottom of 2 poached eggs. Also we orders their Irish breakfast, the bacon was very salty but the potato pancakes made up for it. I head their almond French toast is amazing. I’ll have to order that next time when we visit.

Hands-down the best breakfast in the entire island. The reviews are so true the Archcliffe has one of the best breakfast we ever had. It’s a little small house, so get ready to wait but it’s so worth it. My family and I are travelers and we love to eat well and this was such a delight. They have the best blueberry pancakes, as well as steak and eggs and cranberry scones. We stayed on the island for seven days and out of the seven days we ate five times for breakfast, highly recommend. The staff is wonderful and the place it’s cute with an awesome song selection!

Superb Recovery: Great homestyle food with sophistication. We had Sarah as our server, who provided detailed and attentive service. We ordered togo meals and then ended up dining at their picnic table when our plans were delayed. Unfortunately, the crepes weren’t up to par compared to the first time we had them and needed to be returned. Gina, the chef/owner, re-made them completely herself and suggested that we have them on flatware instead of the styrofoam. The re-fire was EXCELLENT and included the missing shaved parmesan! Gina delivered it herself and chatted with us for a bit before returning to the kitchen. We seriously appreciated the special treatment of this superb recovery. We’ll be back for a third experience!

Why the wait at 7am? Because they’re serving the best breakfast in Vineyard Haven, arguably the entire island. Except for that nana that makes a mean omelet. Go on with your bad self, Omelet Nana. The Southwestern Flannel Hash. It’s Tex-Mex sensibility with a lumberjack’s appetite. House corned beef with a couple fried eggs, a third of a ripe avocado, peppers, onions and a salsa fresca to help those oversized mouthfuls you’re bound to take. Pace yourself, fool. Like scones? Get one here. Sure, they’re like $ 6, but they’re the size of a human head. A human head, people — that’s the thing from which you’re reading this. Everything’s kitschy campy cool. A bit retro with mismatched mugs, bohemian menu options(they run a lunch, but brekkie’s where it’s at), and — I can not stress this enough — a wait always and forever. But when you get a table, hot damn are you in for a treat.
