Do not use this doctor. Poor planning poor scheduling. You will wait over an hour past your scheduled appointment time to be seen. I have been a patient of theirs for a few years and it happens every time without fail.

I went to Dr. Oppenheim about four years ago trying to uncover the origin of a problem that caused scarring of my skin from constant scratching. Dr. Oppenheim did a thorough exam… office exam and lab work. The lab work came back with inconclusive results. In the interim, he was more than helpful in offering me different samples of creams that may benefit me. His staff was overly helpful. I was caring for my toddler granddaughter at that time who was quite the handful and they catered to her as much as possible and were quite pleasant. I later discovered the source of my problems was medications I was taking prescribed by two other doctors and the scripts were constantly changing. When weaned from all of my medications, my problem was eliminated. Before leaving, Dr. Oppenheim suggested that I follow up with my other docs for that reason(that I was on many prescriptions that were ever changing). I liked that he was concerned about the health aspect enough to refer me back to those that were medicating me.

Rude office Staff. I had read positive things about Dr. Oppenheim on the internet and called to inquire about the procedures he offered and the general costs. The woman on the phone acted suspicious, at one point accusing me of calling from a company(??), and mentioned that I asked too many questions. Very rude and unprofessional. UPDATE: I was informed that the rude staff member has been let go; they had not been aware of the problem until complaints had been made.

Update: I was examined by this doctor on 1÷30÷12. When I checked out I told them I wanted to pay my $ 25.00 co-pay. They told me they would bill me if anything was still owed after my insurance made their payment. My insurance company paid them on 3÷9÷12. On 6÷18÷12 I received an invoice for the $ 25.00 co-pay! Four and a half months! Crazy.

Dr. Oppenheim is a highly qualified and knowledgeable dermatologist. I went to him as a young teenager a couple times. Then as an adult, I ran into him about 14 years later when he had an office at the Laser Skin and Vein Center for a short while. He’s definitely different than any other doctor I’ve been to: –He’s very nice and talkative. But he will say some random, strange stuff when you visit with him. Like he goes on tangents with off-the-wall stories about whatever comes to mind. Like you just nod and go along with it. –If you like a certain prescription, he’ll pretty much load you up on anything you ask for. When I saw him for a skin cancer screening, he gave me a script for some Retin A(totally unrelated– he just said it would prevent me getting wrinkles). Sweet! –He has a memory like an elephant. I hadn’t seen him in over 14 years and when I walked into my appt, he not only recognized that he had seen me before, he remembered every detail of my life. Uncanny! –He seems like he’d be a great doctor if you had a serious medical skin ailment. You can tell he’s very smart and knows his stuff. However, I personally would not go to him for a cosmetic procedure. He is more concerned about fixing your ailment than aesthetics. So there you have it… the good, the bad and the quirky.
