I visit this studio whenever I’m visiting family in Chesapeake. I love the open, friendliness this studio exudes and I have never had anything but a fantastic experience here. I’ve had classes with Elizabeth and AJ, which were both excellent. I hate going back to MA when I visit my VA family because that means no more ABY until the next time I visit! I highly recommend it here!

This little studio has provided me with so much growth! Be open to their traditional classes and be prepared to feel challenged. All of the teachers teach with great attention to the practitioner, it simply is an amazing place :)

I’ve been taking classes at this studio off and on over the past few months using a Groupon I purchased. This is my first time doing yoga and I was pretty nervous that I wouldn’t fit in here as a beginner. I have to say though, any beginner starting here has nothing to worry about. The instructors are incredibly nice and all around great with all levels of experience. Never in any class have I felt like I didn’t fit in and this has become one of my favorite places to be. If you’re thinking of trying yoga for the first time or have been practicing for a whole this studio is amazing and you should definitely check it out.

I have taken many yoga classes from quite a variety of teachers with various styles. I have a pretty good perspective on what is out there. Whether you are just beginning, or can stand on your head with no hands for an hour, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better place for your practice than Atma Bodha Yoga. Run and owned by Avery(AJ) Jones, this is a small, friendly place with a great atmosphere. AJ is very accomplished and certified teacher with credentials in Jivamukti, Astanga, Dharma Mittra and, Integral Yoga. He really knows how to make you feel like part of the family. Another thing that really worked for me is that classes are presented as yoga and not as a Booty Shaker Workout like so many places are doing today. If you want to try some yoga, ask about the intro 2-week thing. That’s how I started.
