–Printing is 20 cents per page. There is a machine you may use to add money onto your library card– it even takes credit cards, which is super convenient. I just dont think it should be required for one to have a library card just to print. –2 hr /day internet usage time limit. Since i barely spent ten minutes here, i cant write more. Its located right beside a dominoes. They have a multipurpose computer lab in the back and a conference room up front. Very few tables/chairs to bring your books and ‘study’ per se. A quick in and out library.

Virginia Beach’s library system rocks, nuff said. Well I will say a little bit more. When I moved to Virginia Beach in 2005 the Bayside library was admittedly the saddest in the cities library system. The location was only a few hundred feet from it’s present building. Spring forward to 2006 and Bayside has a sparking new library that is probably four to five times the size of the previous one. As well there is more than enough parking for even the busiest days. This is the hang out in the Summer for my children and many others. My children make it a point to sign up for the library systems reading program every year. That too has evolved and is now online. There is no doubt that they offer a great selection of books, cd’s, and dvd’s. As well as a computer area with internet, multi-purpose rooms for programing and study/meeting rooms for VB residents that request them. But a less known fact is a limited amount of downloads are available on e-books like Kindle and it’s all at no charge to you the card holder. The staff often goes out of there way to make sure you find what you need. Many instances of very caring staff that have patiently worked with my children to help them better understand how to use the library resources. All of this is available to Virginia Beach residents for FREE, well yes our tax dollars pay for it so use it. Those that already know understand the asset this facility is to our local Bayside community. To those that have not checked out this wonderful library make a point to do it soon.

This is my local library branch, so when I reserve books or CDs, this is where I pick them up. The other day when I had some extra time while picking up books I took the time to check the place out. First of all the staff is very friendly and helpful. The special services part means that they have a very large selection of large print books, the computer monitors are extra large so people can read using extra large font without having to scroll every couple of lines and the collection of audio books was very impressive. The other parts are also very nice, a good selection of DVDs and CDs, a rather nice selection of magazines, the children’s section looked pretty good too. The sci fi section had collections grouped together(all the Star Wars and Star Trek books). The tables are large so people can spread out their study materials for doing homework. The reference section seemed adequate and they had private study/meeting rooms. No it is not the central branch but this a very nice library, a great use of our tax money.

I had no idea this was a «special services» library until I looked it up. Apparently they have special accommodations for the blind and disabled. Very cool. All I know is it’s the library i occasionally go to if i can’t make it to Central, and I really like it as an alternative. It’s a satellite branch, so much, much smaller, but very cozy and homey but with all the basic amenities. I wouldn’t go there if you’ve gotta have that ONE book, THAT day. Like I said, it’s small and chances are you might have to order the book from another branch. But it’s a great place to hole up and read or study or whatever. Really cute kids section too.
