I’ve been wanting to check this truck out for a while. I’ve seen them at some events, but never pulled the trigger and that was a big mistake. So when I saw they would be at the new Commonwealth Brewing I made it a point to check them out. The truck presented well. It was clean and great signage. I did not understand the plywood sections around the back, it appeared to be covering up something. If this is something they regularly use then painting would be preferred. I hit them up early, around 5:30 so no lines. Checked out the menu board and discussed options of type of fish and the sauce topping. The young man at the window was nice enough and recommended the flounder. As well a Dill and Cinnamon sauce on each taco. Prices were fair. It took just a few minutes and the tacos were out at the window. I took them inside at a table and quickly realized a few napkins were going to be necessary. They were at the window and I missed them. Nice touch to have staff pull them out with each order. Let’s get to taste… flat out amazing. The flounder was huge and plentiful. The Cinnamon was preferred to the Dill, but both were great. The tacos were really great size and filling. Everything about them was fresh and really enjoyed the soft shells. One of the guys from the truck saw me finishing up and asked if I liked them. This was a nice touch that put them at the 5. I would absolutely recommend them. Best way to find their whereabouts is to follow on Facebook, they update on a weekly basis. You can get location around town Hampton Roads. I know that I will be making an effort to find them again soon. Thanks Bro’s, you delivered some tasty tacos. Washing them down with some Commonwealth brews was a perfect pairing too!

I’ve had their tacos a couple times now, the first time at the Hub and the oceanfront, and today at the Neptune craft beer fest, and both times I was blown away. The ingredients are so fresh and satisfying. I got the beer battered flounder with the habanero sauce, and it packs a kick, but does not lack in flavor. You know when things are just spicy with no flavor? Well these aren’t it. I literally love these tacos! If I could eat their fish tacos everyday, I would be the happiest woman ever! Check ‘em out yall!

I’ve been wanting to try their tacos for some time now. Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday oft he month they come to the Food Truck hump day fest at the Great Bridge Battleground. Amazing! I will make sure to come whenever they’re around! I had both the fried cod with garlic chipotle sauce and another type that escapes my memory with the dill sauce! I just wish they’d open up a store so I don’t become a crazed groupie!

YUM. Just had Bro’s for the first time. My coworkers have been raving — and with good reason! All tacos are soft tacos with napa cabbage, fresh pico de gallo, lime wedge, and your choice of fish and creamy sauce. You can add cheese and/or jalapenos. I had the fried flounder with spicy habanero sauce and added cheese. YUM. The flounder was great. The cheese(shredded cheddar) worked nicely here. The spicy habanero sauce was good, but really it’s just heat; kind of one-note but still good. NOT a huge complaint and I would get again, but I liked the cinnamon chipotle a lot better. I also had the blackened tuna with cinnamon chipotle and also added cheese. This one was a little more disappointing. The tuna was OK, but I would have preferred it cooked rare to medium rare; this was pretty well done(but not super dry). The cheese didn’t add anything to this taco, so I wouldn’t add it to the tuna again. The cinnamon chipotle sauce though — WOW. This was great! Next time I want to try the cod and will definitely get the flounder again. While the tuna was good, I just prefer mine rare. Will definitely go for the cinnamon chipotle again and really want to try to the chipotle garlic sauce(there is also a «classic dill»). Apparently, they sometimes have shrimp tacos — would LOVE to try those! overall, a GREAT lunch and I’ll be hitting them up when I can. Thanks, Bros!

Bro’s Fish Tacos were set up in my wife’s work parking lot recently, so we finally got a chance to give them a try. Overall, we were very pleased with the experience. We are both huge fans of the food truck movement in Hampton Roads and we are looking forward to trying them all at some point. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. The guys working the truck were very friendly and open to answering any questions we had. The tacos were delicious and fresh. Only complaints are minor… we were bummed that they used flour tortillas opposed to corn tortillas, and the tuna that we ordered was slightly overcooked. Not a big deal considering that the tacos were packed with flavor. In the future, we will ask for the tuna to be cooked slightly less! Looking forward to our next taco from BFT.

Bros fish tacos is a mobile food truck so the address that Unilocal has isn’t correct. Although they are really easy to follow bc they update there Facebook page daily! My favorite taco is The Truth(beer battered flounder) with sweet cinnamon sauce!!! Best fish tacos!

Grabbed a «The Truth» taco with garlic chipotle sauce. Good flavors — fried flounder, tomato chunks, cabbage and sauce. Nothing earth-shattering, but tasty. A little pricey at 5.50 a taco. Staff was really friendly, I would stop at their truck again.

Came across this taco truck at a music event on the beach. I believe I had the cod and also shrimp(?). It was very tasty if not a little too much sauce/grease. However, they were cooked to perfection. I don’t know why people are afraid of fish from trucks, it’s as good or sometimes better than their stationary counterparts. I would like to try a few other offerings and see if they have other items in addition to tacos.

Found this little gem while at the O’CONNOR brewery down in Norfolk off west 24th street. Tacos were a little pricey $ 4.50 a taco maybe because they knew they could get more from drunk people? Either way it was delicious. I had the truth with classic dill sauce. It was really good! Especially with a beer. The fish was crispy the taco was soft, though next time I will ask for light cabbage there was way too much cabbage and it was long big pieces. Choked me like twice. If you can find these guys around town I advise you try the truth taco with dill sauce. Well worth it. And they take cards so that’s a plus!!!

So I tend to be a stickler when it comes to Food Truck reviews because I tend to compare them to their brick and mortar counterparts. But no more! Now I shall compare them to their food truck counter parts, and I’m going to start with one of the best I’ve had recently, Bro’s. They were down at Harbor Fest and stopped in with some friends. Gunna start with the negatives, warm soda! Omigosh, I know, I know, it’s trivial, but if you’re going to charge me premium harbor fest fees, make sure you keep a rolling stock of cold ones available. :) Okay, got that out of the way. Now the food, I went with«The Truth» and«Neptuna». Because I wasn’t sure what sauces I wanted, I let the lovely hostess/maitre de/waitress/counter person(not sure what you call the front of the house on a truck) make some recommendations. After some debate, I decided to trust her on the habanero sauce not being too hot and for the other, we chose the dill. Let me tell you, these things were great. The beer battered fried fish was exactly what I had in mind when I think Fish Taco paired with the habanero was just a face full of delicious. The Neptuna was also good, but I think I tend to prefer my tuna just seared. What I like about their offerings is the freshness, typically fish tacos come with some sad shredded lettuce and are over sauced. These monsters had the veggies piled on, which I appreciate. If you see Bro’s in the neighborhood, give’em a try.

I really like this food truck! Yummy food and friendly people. My only complaint is that their taco that’s called«The Truth», needs to have less wide fish pieces(didn’t know how to say that). It was very hard to eat especially standing up and I had to dig out the fish pieces and flip them on the thinner side so I could close the taco enough to eat it. Its still delicious though, just the one little problem.

This was the first time I ever had fish tacos. I had always been kind of weary, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I got the combo with one fish taco(Cod), chips and and a drink for $ 6.50. You can’t beat that deal with a stick. Good portion, good quality, and everything was fresh! Check them out, you won’t be disappointed!

YES! A great fish taco option in downtown Norfolk! Fish tacos are my favorite, and these were some of the best I’ve had! The portions were generous and messy(in a good way!). I got the battered one and the blackened tuna. Loved the contrast of both. Ample portions — I had to use a few napkins. The fact that these guys are eco is a nice touch — all the fish is wild caught, they have healthy tasty chips, and they don’t use styrofoam or plastic packaging. Being environmentally responsible but not pricey is something I respect in entrepreneurs — esp. with food. I just told ten colleagues to go here mañana — I probably will. Need to try the other kinds ;o). It’s in downtown Norfolk behind MacArthur Mall, by Bean There and the Tide stop.

Found these guys at Smartmouth brewery. Fresh ingredients but flour tortilla was not heated so it was more like a sandwich not a taco. Small amount of fish to large amount of tomatoes. The battered fish was mostly batter. None of the sauces tried were actually hot.
