Citrus is definitely a go-to place for brunch. It’s a very popular spot. I’ve never been when it wasn’t jam-packed with guests. Even when it’s raining. The wait can sometimes be pretty long, but it’s worth it. All their food is really good. We always enjoy our meals there and just basically devour our whole plates. Their variety of mimosas are also delicious. I could drink them all day long! There servers are extremely friendly. Several of them walked by and asked how we were doing. I think all of the servers have the same kind of sorority-girl look to them at both locations, but they have always been super nice and attentive. I really enjoy coming here.

Best breakfast/lunch place ever! Over 20 different mimosa combinations and new specials every day! :) The pumpkin pancakes are my favorite breakfast option, and the homemade chicken salad is my favorite lunch option. BUT! If its your first time at Citrus, I definitely recommend the softshell crab Benedict!!! It’s amazing!(And fresh) Oh, and there’s a FULLBAR!!! So don’t forget to add a shot to your mimosa :)

This place was great. My family and I visited twice during MDW because we enjoyed it so much. The french toast croissants were awesome! Place was clean, vibrant and enjoyable.

I freaking love Citrus despite the intense wait times! The service is quick, clean, and attentive. The mimosas are fantastic, and I sadly feel the buzz when I’m drinking a few before being sat due to an empty stomach. The food is excellent! Their benedicts are so delicious.(I will say that though the hashbrowns are crunchy, they are super bland; so I tend to sub them out.) Their breakfast sandwich on sourdough is also incredibly tasty! It’s always a good time as long as the wait doesn’t exceed 30 minutes because the food is consistently awesome along with the yummy mimosas.

This place is a great spot for breakfast and brunch. I personally love their jumbo lump crab benedict and the citrus pankcakes. Im not a fan of pancakes but these are too good not to have. Fresh fruit and a delicious marmalade come with the pancakes making them super unique. I would give Citrus 5 stars if they had an unlimited mimosa option, but they dont. The cocktails are tasty but can get a but pricey if youre a lush like myself.

Great food. Great service. Spacious restaurant. Will definitely be coming back here. Got to love the sweet potato biscuits, hands down the best ones I have ever had. Parking is great, plenty of choices for food and drinks(both alcoholic and virgin). The pancakes were warm and fluffy, the bacon cooked crispy(just the way I like it), and the orange juice is fresh squeezed. I cannot wait to go back here and try the soft shell crab benedict. If you’re looking for a great place to go for breakfast/brunch, then go here.

Love Citrus. It feels like summer break in high school, but with really great food… There’s always a little bit of a wait, but it’s in a comfy area, and the mimosas and seasonal crab omelette makes it worth it. The staff is lovely. This is one of my fav brunch places.

Time of visit: 9:15AM //Day of the week: Friday. 5 stars at Citrus means great parking, bright & friendly environment, awesome waitstaff, superb menu, and most of all, a butt load of different mimosas to choose from!!! I’ve never seen this place empty or even close to it. It’s always poppin’ and if you don’t believe me, come on the weekends! Bet on waiting about an hour for a table! Some might complain but I take it as a good sign that an establishment is well-liked enough that people are willing to wait that long and for breakfast or brunch!!! What! I’m normally starving first thing in the morning! Take note, though, because they close at about 2 pm so come early and prepare to wait. Oh, and have a mimosa while you wait! It’ll make the time pass! Hahaha! I have been to this location many times and every time I come I just love it. I actually came to this one before I ever visited the original location. Parking at the original is pretty much non-existent if you don’t show up at the crack of dawn with the coins! LoL!(But hey, they do offer valet, btw!) I love how it looks inside. The bldg used to be a Ruby Tuesday so it’s very hard to remember it that way. Citrus has turned it compete around from floor to ceiling. It’s very bright and inviting when you come in. It reminds of restaurants you see in California. The waiting area is either in the front when you first enter or its on the right across the host station. You can also hang out or sit at the huge bar or at one of the small tables by the window if it’s just you and a guest. They offer outside seating if weather permits! I have yet to do that so I look forward to good weather to take advantage! Love meals al fresco style! Today I took my mom and it was her first time. She loved it. She was equally impressed by the décor. We were seated in a booth up front right under the chalkboard menu. The listings on it today were mostly for lunch or dinner. Lemme just say real quick that the first time I came here with my girlfriend and saw the $ 16 Mango Almond French Toast Croissant platter on the menu, I was speechless. Who pays $ 16 for French toast?! I told her I have to try it. For something to be priced like that has to be worth trying! And just because it was featured on the Food Network, I also tried their signature Citrus Style Pancakes($ 9) to which I was not impressed. So back to today… We both ordered the Mango Almond French Toast Croissant breakfast platter($ 16 — it’s worth it, trust me!) which come with your choice of eggs, hash brown or grits, and 2 pcs of any meat(bacon, sausage links, or sausage patties). I opted for scrambled, home fries(subbed for hash), and turkey bacon. For my drink, I couldn’t resist the Citrus Mimosa($ 8) and it consists of champagne, pineapple, mango, FSQ orange, and cranberry juice. Definitely my happy drink! My mom got hers with over medium eggs, grits, and links. She needed her coffee but said she didn’t care for it. Maybe because she saw the Starbucks on the way in… Hahaha. But besides the coffee she enjoyed her first Citrus experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone either local or visiting. And if you’re lucky enough to meet the owners, you’ll find them super nice.

This place is delicious! I’m not kidding I’ve never had a bad meal at this place. It does get very crowded especially on weekends for brunch but it’s usually worth it! I always start off with a mimosa but my other family members RAVE about the bloody Mary’s! They always have a wide variety of options to choose from including eggs Benedict and even gluten free options. I love sitting outside at the patio in the summer. Prob one of my favorite places in VB!

Outstanding experience today in big part to our server, Brenan. Immediately got our drink orders. She was well versed with the menu and specials, making excellent recommendations, but ended up going with my go-to foods. Consistently checking on drinks and if everything was going okay. Wish there was room to try one of her dessert recommendations, but guess that will have to wait until the next visit.

My family member came into town unexpectedly. My whole house hold family is doing a cleanse so we literally have nothing in the house. The family member woke me up and said wanted breakfast so I said, «I can call Citrus and we can do a to go order after I make my shake!» When I called, she told me they do not do to go orders over the phone on weekends. I was so hurt because I wanted to go in and out. That was the only downside of today. It is understandable on why they don’t do it over the phone because they’re soooooo busy(parking lot is always packed). So when we got there today we were greeted and helped right away. I believe we waited for about 10 minutes which isn’t bad around the bar and watched everyone make mimosas. I appreciate how the staff was also asking if we were already helped which was a great feeling. We will always be coming back.

Think of a fancy IHOP with food that’s 10x better. This is usually a «Go To» spot for people who want delicious breakfast food and most of all mimosas. For all the times I’ve been here for brunch we would have to wait, that explains why this place is so awesome. Mimosas while we wait is the way to do it. I highly suggest getting the soft shell crab eggs benedict, it’s a bit on the pricey side but it’s worth every penny. Citrus is by far one of the best breakfast/lunch/brunch spots in Hampton Roads.

More information to follow shortly. A policy at this place regarding use of the bar made me never want to come back. The policy regarding the use of the«dining top» aka bar. Aka place to drink. Not just eat. However you can’t spend money on drinks and drink them at the«dining top» only eat at it. Yet liquor is shown and it’s presented as a bar. What? So I can spend money here on drinks and can’t even sit at the bar and drink it? What ? So I can understand you don’t buy anything and can’t sit at the bar, but the fact that you are being a custom and then are pretty much told thanks for buying these drinks now go wait in the corner. Is pretty much a way to tell you thanks chump now get out of here. Then after addressing this ridiculous policy, I got into an argument with how they present this policy and also don’t have any kind of customer service skills to explain it in a better way or softer way. Let me boil down the policy for you. Citrus: We want to make money off this area that we made a shitty policy for that looks a lot like a bar with liquor on display and other bar features but we’re going to call this area a «dining top» why? Because we don’t want your 10 $ while waiting for your table to sit her just ordering drinks. We’re greedy as hell! So don’t mess up our grove son. We don’t do customer value or really care. We’re about numbers. — citrus.

I was very impressed with Citrus! The only negative thing about this restaurant was that we waited to be seated for almost 45 minutes on a Tuesday morning; which in essence just validated how good this place was. Our server was very pleasant, knowledgable of the menu, & accurate. My daughter ordered the mango almond pancakes and I ordered the shrimp and crabmeat eggs Benedict. It was amazing! I will definitely be back!

I’ve wanted to come here FOREVER! I’ve heard so much about it. Everyone raves. I’ve heard nothing but good things. I just wish my experience had lived up to my expectations. I don’t know if there is ever a time when there is not a long wait. This place is VERY popular. Rather than wait 30 minutes for a table I sat at the bar. I never want to be sat at the bar, but I was hungry. Staff were nice. 1 hour til closing and parties of people were still arriving. Hostess was informed to make sure wait time did not go beyond their hours of operation, I wonder if anyone ended up being turned away? Perhaps I didn’t order the right meal. Maybe i would have been happier with something else. I didn’t like my order at all and I was saddened by this. The outdoor seating area is beautiful. I’d love to have brunch out there sometime in the spring/summer 2016. I want that mango, almond french toast!

Oh I really like this new location. I’ve been avoiding it for a while because the wait here is RIDICULOUS all the time — I always see people when driving by on weekend waiting outside in packs to get in and eat the yummies here — so I’ve avoided it and continued to visit the original a little further down off Shore drive. Yesterday we called en route and found that the wait was around 10 minutes — so we decided to finally give it a try. I really like their parking lot — it’s huge and circles the building so there is A LOT of parking — they have an expansive bar area with plenty of seating and room for standing and waiting when the lines get bad. We easily found a seat after putting our names in and waited. It was pretty much exactly 10 minutes. Our friend wasn’t there yet so we had to wait for her to show up before being seated but she arrived about 5 minutes later and we were sat at the next available booth. The inside is very light and airy and clean with the colors of citrus fruits all over — green, yellow, orange and it just makes you feel happy. Does that seem cheesy? Probably but I dgaf. It’s true. I was there for delicious breakfast and it was a cold and rainy day so the cute little citrus lemon and orange painting adoring the walls and the glass square cutouts in the center make the place light and fun. If you’ve been to one Citrus it’s the same so the food is the exact same menu. I got, of course, the pumpkin pancakes with the maple sugar glaze(with an extra side for $ 1 because I wanna smother myself in that shit and lick it off) and turkey sausage and eggs. As always, delicious. I always get the virgin Citrus drink which is 3 different types of juice, I think pineapple, orange and cranberry mixed together. It’s delicious! They have tons of things on their menu I want to try and some healthy options with egg-whites and other things I will at some point. But my husband and I both really liked this location — it’s larger with more seating(it seems), more spacious and open and airy and has plenty of parking which is something we hate about the other location. We’ll be back — unless the wait is 2 hours long — then we might just decide to travel down memory lane to the flagship store! lol.

The new place continues the terrific reputation, food, and service of the flagship store. This new spot is bright, fresh and very welcoming. My friend and I were getting groceries and decided that it’s a bad idea to shop hungry so we decided to give Citrus II a chance since the original is such a great restaurant. We came in the middle of the week figuring that it wouldn’t be busy like the weekend. Luckily it we got seated right away but the place was definitely hopping. They were turning tables like it was Saturday just without the lines. Instead of pancakes today, I decided on a sandwich. I had the BLT with a cup of she crab soup and a side of fries. The sandwich was great. The bacon was just crispy enough and the veggies were crisp and fresh. My soup was phenomenal. Probably the best she crab I’ve had in awhile. My friend had the citrus pancakes. They were terrific as always. I’m always nervous when a good restaurant decides to open a second location. The risk is high but fear not, Citrus II is just as good as the original. I have no doubt I’ll be back.

Better and bigger. The entire place looks incredible and stunning. The décor is spot on, its clean, simple and chic. Love the colour pallete, its vibrant and almost delicious as the food. The outside patio is my favourite feature of the restaurant, its cozy, spacious and ideal for big group luncheon. I’ve been in the Citrus on Shore drive many times and its always a joy to visit the place. This place knows how to make their customers happy and satisfied. Quite honestly, I’ve never been disappointed. It is my first time to dine in here and I love it. I’m glad that the management decide to open a new branch because this place rocks. Probably, one of the best breakfast joints in Hampton roads. I’m into local restaurants and I support them as much as possible especially this brand. It can’t go wrong. Today I came with a friend for brunch. As usual I ordered my fave CITRUSPANCAKE with a side of eggs and sausage patties. It was spectacular, the pancake itself tasted absolutely divine. The flavor was consistent and the orange glazed makes it even more pallettable. I enjoyed every bite of it and I can’t be more satisfied. On the other hand, the customer service was simply terrific. The staff was super friendly, attentive and polite. I highly recommend this place specially for the visiting tourist. This place is not going to ruin your appetite. Oh, don’t mind the seagull review. To see is to believe.

No complaints here. I had a half BLT and a cup of she crab soup and fresh grapefruit. I am a grapefruit addict so when I saw you could order a fresh ½ cut grapefruit I was like YESSSS!!! The she crab soup was sooooo good. Creamy sweet and hot. It was delightful! The blt was also really good. It was some kinda pick 2 for $ 6.99 it was worth it. The grapefruit was cut all fancy and put back on top of the skin. My friend got the eggs Benedict with crab she loves that dish. Place was busy but it was a controlled chaos I would say. Worth the stop!
